Where did the graphics go? -- well, they went bye-bye when my student account closed. What to do? Don't know yet. Hopefully, I'll figure out something soon. In the meantime, please be patient with the mess.
I've been watching lots of movies since Tony's been away. I finally got to see The Insider, which was excellent, as I'd suspected -- Like Water For Chocolate, which was good, but not as good as the book -- Shall We Dance, which I recommend highly -- The Bone Collector (love Denzel!) -- and Strange Days on widescreen, which of course was amazing. Seems like I'm forgetting one or more.... anyway Tony's coming home!!! We expect him Friday!!!!
Monday, September 25, 2000; 06:02 p.m. Shakespeare at Shoreditch
Well, I've been pleasantly overwhelmed by Shakespeare and Ralph Fiennes of late. I've been lucky enough to go to the BAM productions of Coriolanus and Richard II starring Ralph Fiennes and Linus Roache (who is also a cutey!). Next week they take the production to Japan!
Sunday, September 10, 2000; 03:06 p.m. Ralph Fiennes Multimedia Site
This site is absolutely fabulous!!! If you like Ralph Fiennes it's a must! If not, you may still be remarkably impressed with the design of this wonderful site! There's a beautiful flash intro to the site as well as a flash overview for each of Fiennes' films. Beautiful!
Tuesday, August 29, 2000; 09:17 p.m. Challenging Books That Are Worth The Effort
I was inspired over the weekend to make a list of great books that readers may need to be encouraged to read. Feel free to send me your suggestions!
Thursday, August 24, 2000; 12:32 p.m. Heath TV
I don't know if I'm the only person who enjoys the Health Network Cable channel....Anyway, I'd tried to access the shows' websites via the URL they advertise on tv and guess what --- They're Wrong!!. It's not sooo bad actually, because if you type in www.TheHealthNetwork.com or whatever, it sends you to their new host WebMD. But, it took me a few minutes of diddling with the site to find the TV shows. So, here's the link to that. For those of you who have the Health Network and haven't been watching, they've got some very good shows. I practice often with The Yoga Zone most mornings. I'm going to start taping The Method workout, too sometime. There are other workouts. There are cooking shows. Then there are some great shows for parents -- The Parent Table, Baby Steps, etc. I'd highly recommend them!
Thursday, August 24, 2000; 12:27 p.m. NilFun
I don't think I've mentioned this page before, but it's Neil Finn's home page. He's been playing a lot with interesting scripts, video, quirky design stuff. He also seems to keep changing which page is updated, just to keep us all on our toes, I think. You can also try:
This page or
This page which has most recently been updated. The pages are interesting enough to check out and a must for all Finn fans!
Thursday, August 24, 2000; 12:05 p.m. this.com
The above is a great resource for parents who want their kids to benefit from the resources of the internet while protecting them from dangerous content. The site itself has lots of reference works, homework aids, interesting tidbits for parents and kids, etc. But This.com is also a ISP (internet service provider) that provides the only (according to them) intelligent content filter for kids (i.e., they've taught the filter to distinguish between, say a porno site and one on breast cancer or recipes for chicken breasts). The service is supposed to be only $21/month so it's pretty reasonable. Although I haven't personally used the provider, if I were a parent, I'd consider it.
What we've been up to -- I haven't added an entry for a while because we've been busy. We had a great visit with my parents who were here for over a week. Tony's mom is coming for a visit over labor day, too! I'm also busily trying to learn new webdesign and graphic techniques because I'll be updating and maintaining The Heart of Atlanta site. In the meantime, you can view my little HOA tribute page.
Congratulations to Jim Witte on passing his doctoral defense!
Monday, July 31, 2000; 05:32 p.m. Pets 911
We're still in the midst of our ongoing up-again-down-again web connection. The cable guy came today to check on it and of course about fifteen minutes before he arived it came up again (been down since Friday). We'll see.....
In the meantime, let me praise the above site, a new handy-dandy resource for pet owners. It provides one handy location to find pets up for adoption, to advertise lost/found pets as well as info on your local animal welfare organizations by zip code.
We went to see the X-Men this weekend and really enjoyed it. I think it's the best comic-book movie I've seen.
Thursday, July 27, 2000; 04:03 p.m. Sponsor a Pet
Would you like to do something for homeless pets, but can't adopt one yourself? (We've reached our quota for our present apartment with 3 cats) As part of the Pet Action League no-kill shelter in Florida, you can sponsor a non-adoptable pet. They also have other ways that you can help.
Thursday, July 27, 2000; 03:35 p.m. Petfinder.org
Many of our local shelters participate in this website -- perhaps yours do, too. In any case, if you're looking for a new pet, there a lots here for you to check out. Maybe your new best friends is waiting for you there!

Wednesday, July 26, 2000; 03:38 p.m. Sims Kitties' Links: E-cards and Graphics
I thought it was time to update this page and make sure to link it in case I lose my hard drive again. I've spent lots of time looking for graphics and there's a lot of good stuff out there, but it takes time!
Very Sad News
Last week we went to Atlanta to attend the funeral of Tony's Aunt Gertie Guyton. Gertie was Barbara's only sister and it was really difficult for us all, as you can imagine. Prayers for her family would be greatly appreciated.
