It's been a week since the sweet boo-kitty crossed the rainbow bridge. We've placed her ashes and a few momentos in a nice wooden photo box with some of her best photos on the sides. Looking through the wonderful photos we've collected of Azrael over the last 16 years, I decided that I needed to make a scrapbook for them. The above source had just about everything I need (I hope), but I also found some things at
craftcatalog.com. I look forward to receiving my supplies and starting work on the book. Next weekend we plan to have a wake for Azrael and we can maybe work on some pages together.

Tony and I are hanging in there. I've only cried a little bit today...so things are getting better. Tomorrow we'll get Azrael's ashes from Dr. Brinson. We're going to go shopping for a suitable container for them in the afternoon. I plan to get Azrael's final photos up as soon as I can....maybe by the weekend.
In any case, I had already started working on the photos that Amy'd given me on cd and I got a set of our photos back on Sunday as well. I'd started with the photos from our day at Curtis Orchard and they're up now. I've got some more from November visits and from Christmas in Georgia to go up after I finish Azrael's photos. Check out these and others at our Family Photo Album

Angel Kitty Azrael
We are a house of mourning today. Yesterday evening at 6:00pm Azrael crossed the rainbow bridge. She had a seizure Friday night and another "stroke" from which she didn't recover. She refused food and was extremely tired and ready to give up the great fight she's had to fight for over a year now. We had to make the most difficult decision of our lives to let her go. Dr. Jennifer Brinson was wonderful. Little Azrael went to sleep in my arms. We are so thankful for the great joy she has brought to us for so many years and will miss her always.
Friday, January 21, 2000; 04:19 p.m. The Amazing Randi
James Randi was on The View today busily debunking those TV psychics. Next Wednesday on his website he promised to explain how the compass trick is done.
We're a little sad around here today. Azrael had another episode last night (read: mini stroke-like event) It's not as bad as the first but worse than the second I think. She's still pretty weak and disoriented. Pray for her please!
While we're talking about beautiful kitties. On the Rosie show Janet showed great art photos of her cat Beastly again. She has a website devoted to this cat which supposedly gets updated daily. I've had only 50% luck accessing the site, but it is worth a gander. Beastlycat.com.
Wednesday, January 19, 2000; 01:28 p.m. Priceline.com
OK, so I watched Shatner on The View today and he was plugging the site, but it does look like it's worth a try. You name your price and they try to find what you want for the price you want to pay. Can't hurt, huh?
Winter storming out here in Illinois right now. Lots and lots of snow!!! I just updated my reading list page -- if you're interested. I also put up Azrael's Boo Awards for 1999 for her take on the best of last year.
Thursday, January 13, 2000; 01:55 p.m. Ditto
Whew! We're back!!! We've survived the Y2k turnover -- at least this far -- and we survived the trip to and from Georgia for the holidays. We had a lovely time visiting family and friends in Atlanta. Expect some new photos (including bunches of Ashlin ;-) soon! The kitties were very good on the trip and enjoyed their visits. Azrael took her job of spreading joy around very seriously and sat on lots of laps!
School is starting here shortly and we've got lots of catching up to do before we'll be ready (like catching up on lots of mail -- both electric and snail). We look forward to getting to spend more time with our old friend Rebecca who just moved back. Perhaps we can initiate her into the Tuesday night Buffyfest!
We're terribly behind on our movie-going. We saw Galaxy Quest and I saw The Talented Mr. Ripley while we were in Atlanta. Only two movies! Unbelievable! I did play lots of Yatzee with my family though. Not much to review there, though.
I finally got to add Ditto to Azrael's club of special friends. Poor Ditto has been waiting for weeks! Fortune City's FTP was giving me problem over that time and I was just able to get through. Make sure to stop by and see how lovely our new member is!
