Here's a frightening link for the adventurous: http://www.cactaur.com/. And now for a slight rant on why standard vehicles are like macs to me. I dislike one just as much as the other, and people look at me like I'm insane when I say so. Their first question is, invariably: "Well, have you tried one?" Newsflash: I've been driving a standard for two months now, ever since I totalled my auto in May. I've worked with macs in the office, and at home. I still despise them. They are not God's gift to mankind, as some people like to think. I'll refrain from boring you with the whys and wherefores...... Have a nice day! :)
I'm very psyched. I have my very own copy of Tora! Tora! Tora! now. Awesome WWII movie. I've finished Past Dreams and Future Hopes at last! After three years.... phew. I'm waiting to post it until I finish translating the second part of the Masochism Beast dj, and the next chapter of SEXY Guardian. Wow, those are some frightening titles.
My fascination with Agatha Christie mysteries refuses to fade. I have to say, the Hercule Poirot Mystery! Series is a wonderful t.v. adaption of the novels. Why my po-dunk town has a half-dozen of them in our one-room library is beyond me. What do you mean I sound bitter? Why on earth would I miss Boston?
Find your Realm of Influence at SailorOrion.com Shinigami no Seishi has posted part 3 of her YYH fic "Running With the Crow." It seemed an utterly impossible idea until I started reading her story. Trust me, it's a gem. Ah, and I do know how to spell gray, but not everyone is form the U.S., you know.
I'm absolutely exstatic; Thera's finally updated. I've been reading her stuff for... oh, six years now? She's a slower writer than me, if you can believe it. Well worth the wait though.
I hate mass-mailings, but a friend sent this one to me a few days ago, and for some reason it struck me as hysterically funny. ^^; A man was driving home one evening and realized that it was his daughter's birthday and he hadn't bought her a present. He drove to the shopping center and ran to the toy shop and he asked the manager: "How much is that new Barbie in the window?" The Manager replied: "Which one? We have 'Barbie goes to the gym' for $19.95, 'Barbie goes to the Ball' for $19.95, 'Barbie goes shopping' for $19.95 'Barbie goes to the beach' for $19.95, 'Barbie goes to the Nightclub' for $19.95, and 'Divorced Barbie' for $375.00." "Why is the Divorced Barbie $375.00, when all the others are $19.95?" the dad asked. "'Divorced Barbie' comes with Ken's car, Ken's House, Ken's boat, Ken's dog, Ken's cat and Ken's furniture," replied the shop manager.
Hmm. I was hit on by a man old enough to be my father tonight. Now if this was-- say David Bowie, it would be moderately exceptable. The fact that he was cracking jokes about my cleavage didn't help much. [Note to self: avoid wearing tank-tops in bars where sleazy old men can gape at tattoo.]
I watched Moulin Rouge last night. I'm sorry to say that I laughed while she was dying. It wasn't as good as I remembered. Then again, the first time I saw it I was in Belize. When it's the first tv you've seen in four weeks you don't tend to be picky. Hell, I read the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit from cover to cover. Yes, I was that desperate for entertainment. I'm not looking forward to eight hours of scooping ice-cream to perpetually grumpy people. Isn't anyone happy in this world anymore? Come ON, you're eating ice-cream. Smile!
Okaaaaay... Where was I that I haven't seen these pics earlier? Look at that cute li'l Draco! To quote Ivy "Squeee!" ![]()
Yay! Am off to movie with mother. V. strong bonding moment. Heh. Unexplicable urge to write in High Bridget Jones Style. In other news: I'm writing! Yes, I will get some stories finished this week. I may even stop eating too much ice cream at work.... Nah.
Heh... I've finally started uploading fics to my fanfiction.net account. Hopefully it will get me a little more exposure -- even if the pop-ups are likely to drive me INSANE. One of my younger brothers (I've got two, anyone interested?) is finishing up his freshman year of high school. It's making me all nostalgic. Except for all the damn banquets at the end of the year. What a torture. I appreciate what my folks did for me even more now....
Ah, it all makes sense now.
What type of Bishounen are you? Find out at artificial-soul.net by Rin.
It's kind of sad to have writer's block for two years in a row. I look back at how prolific I was in high school and wonder what the hell happened. Writing a paragraph kills me now. Sana-chan agrees with me. We really are twins. Heh. On the up note, translating manga and such is much, much easier. Now if I could only speak the language.... >.<
I've decided that I need my own personal masseuse, since crouching over a 1 x 1 m hole in the ground for 8 hours tends to give you tight back muscles. I've also discovered that I'm not the only person on this planet who can quote "Arsenic and Old Lace." O, Joyous Day!
I broke down and did it.... Now I can thrash an unsuspecting populace with random brain-dead rambling.... Now as soon as gods-be-damned crosswinds gets its act sorted out (AGAIN) I can upload the picture that's supposed to be sitting over there. |
