bring it.

At least 50 emails these past two days about this project. But it's getting done and it is awesome.
Saw "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and LOVED it...man, I can totally understand the feeling...but he was so much better off than I ever was! And in the end...come on...Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis...what a lucky schmoe. Great movie. Wish real life was like this.
The girl I've been emailing...sent a really dorky but cute note. Basically saying she wrote me half an email...but wasn't finished. Just letting me know she would email me the long thing soon. Cute. I'm digging her already.
Rehearsed with Josh at the office...got some cool duets. Grabbed food and beers after.
Sean joined the team Monday... sweet. Good to have some help now...but teaching and managing an intern is a pain. I got enough to do on my own.
Ok...getting ready for gig on Thursday. You coming?
Meeting, phone calls, emails. So, what's new?
productive weekend...
Sunday, September 28, 2008 11:30 p.m.
Mostly rainy...so I stayed in and built furniture and cleaned up in a major way.
I am sore, but it was totally worth it for the awesome huge bookshelves that are housing all my graphic novels...and freed up a ton of space for the DVDs.
Watched a total of 8-9 episodes of Mad Men and Eureka. Awesome stuff.
Practiced for the gig...wow...it's Thursday...coming up soon! Josh is swinging by the office after hours tomorrow so we'll get some jam time in. Should be cool.
Loads of work in the next few weeks. Hoo boy. And Sean is starting tomorrow. Lots of changes. Let's make them good.
Wow.
Thursday, September 25, 2008 11:29 p.m.
Ok...the deal is up to about $160K in the bank by December. Wow. I rocked it.
A lot of work and back and forth needs to get down in the next few weeks. I am going to be insanely exhausted...and I need some loving. GAH!
Went to dinner in Ktown with SH and AD...good food and lots of laughs. Pinkberry too.
Yes, the online thing. This girl has been emailing me lately...wow. Smart, a little nerdy, renaissance woman...I'm intrigued.
Comics. Awesome!!! Mad Men Season 2 marathon in my DVR...awesome...
But best news... saw the ultrasound of my niece/nephew. Big head, big ass...fat baby! I am going to spoil, spoil, spoil. Cannot wait.
Rainy day...lots of work. But good, good, good. TGIF, kids.
ABDC Live...and another good day!
Wednesday, September 24, 2008 12:50 a.m.
Started off the day without knowing whether or not I had a meeting...and then I did. Went to the TV network and met with VP of marketing. Had a great 45 minute meeting and discussed plenty of ways we can work together...and got a bunch of free DVDs to watch for research. If it works we could have a ton of stuff to do for next year...and guaranteed trip to Comic Con. Wooo!
Got back to the office and had plenty to catch up on... loads to do and finally got most of it done.
Headed out and went to meet up with Justin to go see ABDC...and bam. I get the email that the deal I was waiting for...officially greenlit! WOOO! Tomorrow we will discuss assets and how to move forward with the project. $100K in the bank this year. Pop ya' collar. Damn.
ABDC -- took some fun pics in the sponsored photo booth with my baby brother and they turned out great. Went in and the show started on time.
Break Sk8, Asiid, Iconic, Lil' Mama, Fanny Pak, Super Crew, and Jabbawockeez--all of them, rocked it ...I mean "kill't it" and it was just flat out fun.
Of course the girls in Fanny Pak and that one girl with the big nose in Asiid were my faves...but have to give it up for the awesomeness of the two headlining crews. Just amazing. Best was doing the highlights from the performances from the show. So cool to see it live.
Doris and Aileen were sitting a few rows in front of us! Said hi to them and had to split.
So tired...a ton of work tomorrow...but psyched for it.
Wooooo! Amen.
Awesomeness abounds...
Monday, September 22, 2008 11:45 p.m.
Man...I just slept all of Saturday away. Seriously. Just slept.
Sunday: Went to Ikea and got a bunch of bookshelves and a NEW BED!!! I have an awesome, huge, queen size bed now! "Where the magic happens..." yeah. Anyways, I am completely sore from lugging the crap around and building it.
Work...man, just gnawing my knuckles waiting for the paperwork to come through. This deal was supposed to be done...so what is the hold up? Arrrgh! I really, really need this to work out. Ugh. Come on!!!
After work went out to meet T...but had to kill some time...so I went shopping and got an amazing deal on a blazer...as in...I paid 10% of the original price. WOW!!!! And I also ended up getting an awesome deal on DVD sets, and out of print manga, AND the Adam Hughes portfolio that I thought was sold out!!! Great shopping karma!
AND...met up with T and found this new Korean place that had BonChon chicken!!! The menu was different, but the chicken was just as good! T was in much better spirits and we could kid around and just have fun...great to have her as a friend. I really do care a lot about her and wish her happiness.
Came home and watched HEROES...just awesome! So many twists and turns and questions...and HELLO!!! Weevil is now "Peter Petrelli"...and Elle is Veronica Mars. NERD CASTING HEAVEN! I love when that happens! And James did a kick ass job...go, dude.
And HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER--HIwaitforitLARIOUS!!! Last season was kind of hit or miss...but this first episode had so many great moments. Loved it.
America's Best Dance Crew LIVE tomorrow with Justin...and still waiting on if my meeting is going to happen or not...but we'll see tomorrow morning.
Now if my deal get solidified this week...that is what will make things awesome. Let's go! Let's do this!
My baby is 18!
Wednesday, September 17, 2008 11:09 p.m.
Wow. I cannot believe that Justin is 18. He's a young man. And I am so proud of how he's turned out. He's charming, funny, and just an all around great kid. Everyone that knows him loves him. He is my pride and joy.
Work..crazy day with our CEO giving the "state of the nation" basically singled out my group as one of the best...which was great. Restructuring is going to be weird...layoffs, job changes, hirings, who knows?
Deal memo went out. Man, let's get this rolling!
Calls, emails--frantic shuffling. Getting intern set up and then rushing over to take Alex to audition...then my aunt took us to Flushing to have dinner with Justin and the family.
Went to GameStop and got him some games for his bday...and was so proud of him chitchatting with the employees so naturally. I hope he goes into sales, PR, marketing one day...he would totally be great at it.
Anyways, awesome Joe Shanghai, awesome honeydew frapp from SAGO...and home to watch ANTM. Analeigh and Samantha are my faves this season. I doubt either will win...but oh, well.
So tired! Finished season 1 of Mad Men last night...truly awesome and highly recommended.
Meeting up with GK tomorrow? Elaine might swing by office too.
Oh...am I going to LA?
good news...bad news (sorta?)...
Tuesday, September 16, 2008 11:02 p.m.
I saw her in the elevator bank today. After months and months. She had on these ridiculous sunglasses and this new haircut...but it was her.
I thought I had seen her the other day and she was talking to the security guard about "her husband from the Bronx"... not sure if it was her...but could have been. (Another funny thing--online dating site that I used to frequent, this girl emailed me today and...she lives in the Bronx...parallels? )
BUT...who the eff cares? I am so done. I just wish I never had to see her again though.
All day sales meeting, emails, and new intern started today. Cute kid and seems sharp. Hope she works out...
BUT...here's the good news. The tv show I've been trying to get a deal with... it's done. I got it. So far we are talking about a $100K deal...with the potential of $250-300K...wow. All me, this one.
Might actually fly out to LA to discuss some ideas for the DVD packaging with them. That would be awesome if this was the case! Lots of work to do in the meantime...so got to get to it.
Hung out with LK after work for the first time in over a year. She's got such a cute voice and loves all this geeky stuff that I dig. But she is very involved in church...and may be too conservative in some aspects.
But we had so much fun getting drinks, ice cream, and taking a walk through the park...seriously, not bad.
Anyways, home...and have so much to think about and do tomorrow. Oh, boy.
But things are good. And hope to be better and better.
I'm gonna be an UNCLE!
Sunday, September 14, 2008 11:54 p.m.
Yup. Charlotte's pregnant.
I am so happy for Eric and Char! I cannot wait to spoil my niece or nephew rotten! (and the baby will be due on Eric's birthday! wow!)
Well, we were at my grandparents 60th Anniversary Party...the whole family was there with friends also. Just like a wedding...Balloons, cake, posters, photos, drinks and all the works at Douglaston Manor. Alex played the sax, Niu played piano and sang, and Justin, Lu, and Chi just did this really cute dance to Daft Punk...so crazy adorable. And they were all sweaty. I went to the bathroom and Justin was there too...came down and my parents were going nuts! And I figured it out...wow.
The party was great. Lots of fun and food. Just really tiring setting up and mingling etc.
Also Elaine and Barry's part two was the night before...so two nights of too much eating. Time for a serious diet.
Anyways, weekend was exhausting but fun...and I have my future in mind. I hope to find someone soon...I want this for myself....some day I'll be celebrating 60 years with someone too...
In any case, it was a great weekend. Congrats to my loved ones. Unforgettable.
. . .
Thursday, September 11, 2008 11:17 p.m.
Never forget.
Love to all.
changes...
Wednesday, September 10, 2008 12:11 a.m.
Well, saw Barry and Elaine get married (part one) on Sunday. It was a nice Jewish ceremony--complete with chuppah, glass smashing, hora, and chairs. AB was there. Man, she is cute. And her creepy ex was there too. Lots of Elaine's friends that I kinda know. All friendly...but don't know them that well. 6-7 hours total commute to CT..but it was worth it to see Elaine look so beautiful and happy. Oh, and Barry too. :P
Found out on Monday that they closed a whole NY division. Yipes. Wow...some seriously major changes coming down the pike in the next few weeks.
More than 10 people got laid off...sad, but it happens.
Next gig is October 2nd! Playing electric guitar this time...and Josh is playing with me too.
New intern starts Monday!
TV is back! Terminator: SCC was awesome...and Mad Men is great. Watching on DVD.
KHD called last night. I wrote her back today. First time hearing from her in almost 2 months. Still feel weird about it.
Flat broke this month. Man, I gotta last until Monday. Weddings, my grandparent anniversary, credit card fiasco from the fraudulent charge, rent went up 100 bucks. Ugh! I need cash!
Should be easier week...but we'll see.
Let's rock this craziness!
yikes.
Thursday, September 4, 2008 10:05 p.m.
Man, I have been stressed out this week with work, presentations, meetings, etc. Just super busy.
Crazy Euro girl called me an "idiot"...but she was the one who did not understand what I was asking her to do. It was pretty simple. Even if we are friends...that's no way to treat a co-worker. I was pissed and I told my boss I didn't want to work with her anymore.
And...then an hour later...she got laid off. With 5 other people. Ouch.
I felt bad. But I have been telling all our friends...if we ever have lay offs she would be the first to go. She's loud and abrasive and rubs so many people the wrong way. Anyways, I feel terrible. Deep down she is just very insecure...and I try to be her friend through it all. Ack.
Well, I had a meeting to run to. Which went GREAT. I really hope to get this deal. And one of my old coworkers works for this "theatrical group" now...so it was pretty cool.
Lots of potential deals bubbling up again after Labor Day...and big morning meeting tomorrow. Suit and tie and lugging a bunch of stuff with my boss in the morning. Hope we get this one.
Meeting next week with fun entertainment company too. Work is awesome. But I am cranky and need some fun. Sigh.
Hope Gloria got to SF safely. Hope things are well if you are reading this! Will miss you! See you before wedding.
TGIF. Let's do this!
Love's labor lost...
Monday, September 1, 2008 10:37 p.m.
Summer's over, kids!
I am so glad...let's get the temp under 80 and I will be very happy. I bet there will be another month's worth of warm weather...ugh.
Not much happened. Took Friday off and worked from home a bit. Stomachache...ugh. Went to the city for a little bit and met up with Jo and Glo at Blue and Gold. Cannot believe they will be in SF tomorrow. Wow. Seriously, a year of major changes.
Was going to go home and turns out CAG was in the neighborhood. We met up a block away and then Eunice turned out to be nearby. Ended up saying hi and hanging out a bit...then walked CAG to her party...and went home. She is just so cute...but man, no way. I am staying away. I learned my lesson.
Rest of the weekend was watching dvds, playing video games, and cleaning up majorly. Seriously, that's all I did. Got enough rest...but I am ready to get back into the thick of things and get these done. I just want to finish up the year off strong.
Elaine's wedding(s) coming up, my grandparents 60th anniversary, and some random things coming up this month. Going to be busy. Whoo.
Feeling kind of down lately...just feeling ignored and not feeling very much use. Ugh. Pity party. Over.
Ok...let's get back to this.
