...and they called it Comic Con.

Still reeling and recovering. Will add more later when I get a good night's sleep.
In the meantime--pics are up.

More later, kids.
Nerdi Gras...here I come!
Tuesday, July 22, 2008 11:20 p.m.
Crazy busy day today. Lots of good calls and meetings set up for SDCC. Lots to follow-up on when I get back too. Am I ever going to catch a breather and slow down?
Too tired to write the rest. Want to be unconscious before 1:00 and catch some rest before early flight tomorrow.
Psyched...hopeful for the future. Hope these next days are fun with some business thrown in for good measure.
Plenty to update when I get back. See you then, kids.
Safe flight, yes?
Let's hit it!
Dr. Horrible....
Sunday, July 20, 2008 11:18 p.m.
...was awesome. The ending totally surprised me...and yet it didn't because it is Joss after all. Catch it before it's taken down...then you'll have to wait for the DVD.
Oh...and Watchmen "motion comics" was very cool! I hope they do more...and that they spring for some female voice actors...eeeew. What were they thinking with using one guy to do all the voices?
Dark Night....
Sunday, July 20, 2008 04:55 p.m.
Let's just get right to it. We had the "friend" talk as expected. At least now I know. Enough said.
Dark Knight was awesome. An amazing movie and it got bumped to my second fave movie this year. I'll write it up on FB later.
Yeah, we got a drink at the bar and we talked briefly. She says she feels very close to me...but not in the way I wanted. I'm not sure how things are going to be from now on...but at least I have that knowledge.
I'm just very frustrated. Why can't I find someone that thinks that I am cool enough to be with? What is the intrinsic problem here?
Anyways... enough about that. I came home a bit upset...but not as bad as I thought. I seriously think that me and Batman don't mix...these milestones are always marked in a bad way.
Started playing video games again. I beat Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil this weekend. Man, same thing...I never play video games unless I am upset. Helps me forget things and gets my heart racing.
Not much else this weekend. Just sweltering and packing up.
Urrrgh. Let's move on, shall we?
I feel all cold and slimy on the inside...
Thursday, July 17, 2008 11:51 p.m.
Wednesday: Honestly...I can't remember what happened. We went by the river and had Chipotle and I did a bunch of work. Went to get comics and had dinner with the Miaos at Narita in Forest Hills
Thursday: Ton of work, but I got so much done and even cleaned up a bit at the office. Had lunch with M and talked a bit about work and personal.
After work went to FISH with CAG. She really is so cute...but odd and full of contradictions. I really enjoy her company...but I still think it's a dead end. Well, if you call friendship a dead end. Had a bunch of oysters and 2 1/2 glasses of wine. Great deal there. Then took the train which had week A/C and passed out for half the trip.
Home...ABDC--Fanny Pak!!! New music and used dvds...and got my replacement huge Boba Fett. Awesome.
Seeing Dark Knight tomorrow with KHD. Emails are still flirty...but I think that's just cheekiness and nothing more. Sigh. The weird thing is...last time I went to Narita and saw a Batman film...it was with S...not sure if that means anything.
Meh...work, SDCC, pack up and get ready to go. Woot.
TGIF. A boy can dream, yes?
With my freeze ray...

"Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog" --oh man, Joss has such an ear for melody. And Neil Patrick Harris has a great voice! And Nathan Fillion plays cheeseball like no one else. Cannot wait for the next Act!
http://www.drhorrible.com/act_I.html
Work was work...went by in a blur with a couple of important emails and phone calls...a lot tomorrow also. And lunch meeting went well also.
E3--Wow... Resistance 2 and Kill Zone 2 both look awesome. Am I going to need a PS3 also? Crapola.
Not much else...but CAG was really cute today...she started walking a straight line on the bricks outside the building spontaneously. too cute.
Tired and I have insomnia...what the crap is up with that?
Oh...and the big news...my friend at a major comic book company hooked me up big time. Got Justin and me autographed copies of the "Umbrella Academy" trade--written by My Chemical Romance lead singer--Gerard Way.
I actually bought the first 4 issues and was going to wait for the trade to get the rest...well, got it for free AND signed. So awesome. Ahhh...perks.
Happy Bday, Elaine! Love you!

psyched!
Monday, July 14, 2008 10:10 p.m.
So, the schedule for Comic Con got posted and I am thrilled! So much fun stuff...and it is going to be so hard to plan around work meetings and everything I want to see. Man, it is going to be fun!
Work...busy. Same old stuff. Getting ready for a ton of stuff before I take off.
I honestly wish I had an awesomely hot geekgirlfriend...that I could talk about comics with. I mean, Final Crisis: Requiem (One last Oreo for J'onn...SOB!!) and the last trade of Y The Last Man (no one is in that strait jacket...SOB!!!) had me weeping like a baby. I wish I had someone to share that with...that had a uterus.
Phone calls, business lunch, hoping to get numbers and files in tomorrow...sigh. I just want this stuff to get underway...and some help would be great.
E3...I am so going to get Gears of War 2 and Fallout 3...as soon as I get my Xbox--um...in August when the 60 gig comes out.
I feel like such a "boy" today for some reason. A bit hopeful and a bit dorky...but isn't that a good thing?
Wanted / Wall-E
Sunday, July 13, 2008 10:41 p.m.
Friday: Got to take a 1/2 day...wooo! Did a bunch of work and have a packed week coming up with a ton of meetings and phone calls. All pre-trip. Left and got comics then went to get a haircut and came home to shower...then went to meet KY and R for Wanted in Forest Hills.
Man, I loved the comics and the movie's beginning and end really were the only things in common with it...but I LOVED the movie. Just action packed and a few twists I did not see coming. Good stuff. Top three fave movies so far.
Came home and cleaned, packed up a bit...then Saturday morning got woken up early. Went to take the grandparents and the folks to BK and went to Toys R Us also... got some groceries and came home to work out and clean some more.
Sunday: Oph borrowed Justin's bike, so I rode it home. Wow...it's been such a long time! But I guess what they say is true...you really don't forget, huh? Then went shopping and went to see Wall-E with mom and Justin...such a cute movie! I loved EVE and WALL-E...and the message of the movie was great...but I don't get why people said they were crying. I am so sentimental and I didn't get choked up once. But good movie though.
Got cranky because the family had to get new cell phones...and it took forever. I was headache-y (too much caffeine today) and was just tired.
Anyways, I Love Money---Destiney is back! I love her. I have such a thing for gothrockchicks.
Work tomorrow...this week is going to be nuts. Hope to get a lot done before heading off next week. Yipes!
whatever it means...

Work...busy, tiring...but good.
Had a good lunch with SH and talked about why I am such a moron.
Went to meet up with Josh, Elaine, and her "flamboyant" friend at Bon Chon. Ate a ton of stuff and had a good time catching up.
More of the same today...and then CAG surprised the heck out of me by asking me to get a drink with her.
Went to this tapas bar and had my first caipirinha...I like mojitos better. Had a really weird but good time with her. We ate, had drinks, she was fighting to split the bill...but she had 12 bucks...and the bill was like 70...odd.
Made me talk to her sister on the phone...and then we went for Red Mango...her treat...and we shared the cup. She's very much into the "give it to you straight" theory. She says I have "onlychildsyndrome"...meaning I like to complain and whine and want people to take care of me. Which is true in part.
She is absolutely adorable and weird and smart in her own right. But so hard to figure out. Walked her home and had a really nice chat. Very friendly and mostly platonic...and it was better that way. The work thing is just so difficult.
She knows I adore her and treat her well. And I think that's what a good friend should do. If she ever leaves work...then maybe. Who knows. I love her company and she always makes me wonder. The deadpan stare...but the huge smile and honest laughter...that payoff is so much sweeter.
ABDC--Fanny Pak is my favorite. That blonde is so ugly cute!
Work, comics, haircut, meet with KY and R for movie in Queens. TGIF!!!
it's not the heat, it's the humidity...
Wednesday, July 9, 2008 12:04 a.m.
Yuck. I am so glad I got my AC in my room now.
Work = same. Phone calls, emails, boxes, meetings. Meh. Busy busy.
Batman animated movie = not that good. I wrote review on FB. Kinda disappointed. Sad.
Burn Notice is an awesome show. Bruce Campbell is in it...and Gabrielle Anwar has an AMAZING body...too bad you can tell she's gotten collagen injections in her lips. (Why am I such a girl and know these things?!?)
CAG is being coy or cute or crazy. All this talk of us hanging out...then not hanging out...then being cute and weird. Ugh.
KHD. KHD. Gotta not think about it. I mean, seriously...she could be flying back to her country any day. Arrrgh. I just have not met anyone like her in such a long time. Sigh.
Had to give LK a pep talk at work because she was feeling down. Not sure where these kids are getting it... I mean, you feel like you deserve a raise or more responsibility after being at a job for 6 months or a year? Whatever happened to "paying your dues" and learning on the job? I'm going on 10 years in publishing and I still have so much to learn...but the sense of entitlement some people have? I think the best way to get ahead is to prove your use and to seize opportunity. Don't wait for things to happen. Take risks and just try try try. Persistence seems to be the key and just doing a bang up job with whatever is handed to you. Above and beyond reproach. LK has a sparkling personality and she is willing to work. I'd love to see her succeed if she really sharpens up and takes a personal approach to getting more responsibility. Just pop in and talk to people. Ask to help out on something specific. All it takes is for her to get a chance to shine.
I think MT has a lot to do with it. Her negativity just seems to swarm and affect people. I think she is actually physically very cute...but on the inside there is so much stuff going on that makes her so unattractive. I wish she'd just stop complaining about everything and make a change in her life instead of trying to get the mob to agree with everything being crap crap crap all the time.
Deadwood. Marathoning it lately...wow. Lots of cussin'. Amazing acting and lots of great character actors. Powers Boothe is awesome. Ian McShane...damn. He should have gotten loads of awards...but the big surprise is how much I like Brad Dourif...usually he plays the creepy psychos...but on Deadwood...the Doc is one of the good 'uns....even if he is a little creepy and a little psycho. One of my fave characters on the show so far (halfway through Season 2)....I know by the end of it it is going to suck because there was no ending...and the movies may never get made. ARRRGH!
Ok...meeting up with some friends tomorrow...and should get ready to pack and stuff.
Work! Play! Bring it.
oh, say can you see...
Sunday, July 6, 2008 10:48 p.m.
Oh, man. That's it? That was the whole weekend? It just went by in such a blur.
Thursday night to Boston was a bit hectic. We left late and found a nail in a tire and were lucky enough to get it fixed. Got to Eric and Char's place a little past one and saw the new place. It's HUGE and it is brand new and gorgeous. I am so psyched to rennovate my place now! At least get some paint and a new floor going. That's the goal to meet before the end of the summer.
Friday... got up early and we went to the park in the rain and met up with some church people. I barely knew anyone anymore...and the people that I did know...they all are married and have babies now. So weird. Ate a ton and then played on the field when the rain let up. Tossed a disc around and I cannot believe that I still have a pretty decent sidearm. Played some football in the wet field and we had a good time. I even scored two touchdowns (the QB had a great arm. I just needed to catch and run.) I slipped in the wet grass and totally twisted my foot and ankle. OW. Pretty bad actually.
Went home to shower and passed out for a few hours. Sowon and Jeremy came over for a bit and we played some Rock Band and ate at home. My folks went out for a bit and the rest of us just stayed home with the grandparents and watched some tv.
Saturday: Got up and packed. Went to Kelly's and had lunch with Eric's in-laws (lots of just heavy food...good though) and then headed home. Good weekend in Boston with the family...and didn't see any fireworks. That was the only disappointment.
Spent the rest of the weekend indoors and recupperating from the twisted ankle. Just watched Rocky movies, Deadwood, and cleaned up. Not much else going on. Just needed to decompress a bit and rest. Next few weeks are going to be insane and then off to Comic Con. I'm pretty ready for the summer to be over. I want fall here sooner than later when I can think straight again.
I did get to speak to LY a few nights ago before I left...and we just have this weird thing. We sort of dated and yet...there's so much unfinished business there. We've known each other for five years now...and there is always that weird underlying connection. But so so wrong together...anyways.
Back to work tomorrow. A lot on my mind and a lot to do. Good to be active again. I'm going to start lifting as much as I can...and hopefully get back to running soon too.
Sigh. Here comes Monday...good things on the horizon.
Eye of the Tiger. Let's go.
