i sacrificed school today for a free haircut. the loreal hair seminar came and went, and it was an indescribable experience. utterly indescribable.
my hair was crimped and moussed and blown-dry till it literally defied gravity. they sprayed enough mousse to cause irreparable damage to the ozone layer and my lungs. i had glue and silver glitter on half my face; the devilish bits actually got into my eyes and made them twitch like rabbits. (if rabbits actually twitch) i would have been the epitome of afro-hairedness if hildra didn't beat me to the coveted throne, looking like beyonce in austin powers haha.
we went out and "modelled" our very radical hairstyles, stood there listening to the head stylist/director vinn discuss the hair colours he mixed with the audience of budding hair stylists blah blah blah and that was it, minus the three whole hours of preparation. it was hell on earth trying to remove the gunky glitter from our faces. bits of glitter were still stuck in my contact lenses and i scrubbed the glitter off my eyes with such strength that i was surprised my eyes weren't gouged out.
but it was so fun! took lots of photos, though i'm skeptical about showing them to anyone. we looked quite a sight man. vinn is the head director of action hair salon at paragon and he's won the colors trophy for many years running, insofar as he decided to refrain from taking part this year to give way to allow others a chance! wow. and he actually did my hair uh. oh i forgot to mention that i got my hair cut on sunday. no more long flowing hair past my shoulders. my hair has been chopped off till the nape of my neck. to those who have seen me: any comments? i think i'll never be able to fulfil my experiment to have long rapunzel hair. what a shame.
upon insistence by certain people, i have finally jumped on the friendster bandwagon. add me! write me a lovely testimonial! and i will promise to love you like i love marks and spencer's chocolate digestives. which is A LOT, mind you!
here's a picture for drooling purposes, the epitome of sexiness himself:

hey hey guys and dolls! look who's back in the house! i think i broke the record this time. i almost held out for one month! whew. take comfort in the fact that first words you see won't be i fainted! anymore.
ok i've been totally bogged down with school. and that is the most puzzling thing. day in day out i feel like i have a million and one thousand things to do, but yet, after doing most of it, i don't seem to have done anything substantial. i've been frequenting the computer centre to print my notes, so much so that i think i deserve gold membership status; with 10% off my total printing charges, print 3 copies get 1 free, and the like. i've been printing so much i think my cash card is overworked, it keeps screwing up on me and refusing to access itself into the printing system! asshole!
oh yes. as i was saying, i've been printing the whole amazon forest down and also going to the library to check up lotsa shit that we forever seem to need. for all those damn projects. so i've been busy doing all these nonsensical stuff that i have neglected the very basic requirement of our university life: our readings. i've been cramming my literature books on bus rides so i don't have the chance to read my readings. argh! school is really stressing me out you know? DO YOU KNOW THAT?!
everyday i find a hundred more things to do. project work is a drag cos of clashing schedules. ok this is getting to be a tragically longwinded rant. i shall leave this to explode in my brain while we move on to other things.
for the past two weeks i've been sleeping over on sunday and monday nights at felicia's room in raffles hall. thanks to my seemingly ingenious idea to put my classes at 8 am and 9 am on monday and tuesday mornings respectively, i find that it is especially tedious to wake up 3 hours before my class just because my bus ride is approximately 2 hours. oh the woes of being a heartlander in yishun! so i find that raffles hall is not exactly very happening. but i'm not an official hall member, so i can't say. all i can say is, there isn't anyone worth drooling over here. (to those who know, i think i have gotten over the whole green tea thing haha) i stayed home this weekend, and i find that home is the most conducive place for work! i shall admit, at this point, that i got homesick even though i stay there only two nights a week. how pathetic is that?!
i have recently taken up jinling's (sister's) offer to take part in the loreal hair seminar. six of us (i am too lazy to name all, but my dear sweetie jinling is included) will get our hair cut and highlighted for free by hairstylists while hippily sitting there in front of photographers wearing the outfits provided. i seriously hope they are not spacesuits. you know how radical the hair business tries to be. i regret to announce that i got the one hair dye colour i didn't want to get - copper! i wanted to give the ash colour a go but apparently, the guy didn't think i was suited for it. not much change is better than bad change after all. i hope the haircut turns out nice! or else i shall have to introduce a new trend to the school - snow hats and turbans. actually uh, i just remembered i got my hair dyed recently. i risk permanent hair damage.
after being exposed to a fair amount of the opposite sex in this school, i realised that in general, i'm attracted to guys who look like this:

no, not exactly the whole rocker image. but the kind who has a bit of indie thing going on. it's more about the attitude than the looks. vintage sneakers. i love a guy who can carry a goatee, like trent lane up there. whom i haven't mentioned, is my long time crush. he is so cool. i was so deluded, but oooh. what a cool cartoon character. he's a character from the mtv cartoon series daria which i find pretty funny.
did i mention how much i adore johnny depp? now that's another guy who can carry off a goatee. how about ethan hawke? totally goatee-worthy! jess will never get anywhere with those three strands of hair on his chin. that don't impress me much mister!
tomorrow sees a literature essay. good night!
p/s: dear jin, i'm so glad you think me worthy of "knowing" you like i now do. smile ok? love ya dear! :)
