Backstreet's Back...
Isn't it funny how, when you have so much to say, you invariably forget to say some of it? Re-reading my last entry, I came to the realization that I forgot to talk about half the stuff that's happened in the past few days!
I finally got my Kaikan Phrase fansubs! I've only been able to watch 1 1/2 episodes due to various distractions, but I plan on putting it back on once I finish writing here! I'd seen screenshots/manga scans before, and heard recommendation after recommendation telling me to WATCH THIS ANIME! But I was completely unprepared for how truly gorgeous each and every one of these boys are! And the voices...mmmmm.....Miki...Yuki gets to be at the top of my favorites list simply because of his seiyuu =^_^=
But enough about that...Now for something about the other big event from Monday night - The Backstreet Boys Concert! Shut up all of you who don't like the BSB or boy bands in general. Everyone's entitled to their opinion and I don't begrudge you yours, but don't go raining on my parade just because we have a difference in opinion! I'd like to state that the members of BSB are extremely talented performers with very mature voices, and there's simply something more to their music than, say, N'Sync's or O-Town's. Not to mention that they're considerably hotter than both those bands combined ^_^ The Boys didn't come on until 9:00 (the show started at 7:30), because we had to sit through an agonizing hour and a half of opening acts.
First, there was some girl named Crystal (she probably has some weird spelling, but I'm not going to bother to look it up) who actually wasn't that bad, but her voice had a poor-quality roughness to it that speaks of someone with very little experience in caring for her instrument. The other opener was Sisquo, who delivered a truly nauseating performance. His stage set consisted of some lackluster pyrotechnics that either suffocated the audience with acrid smoke, or flash-blinded them, as well as a giant (and I do mean giant) poster of himself. His performance was tiresome, and he brought on these guest rappers who introduced themselves in some sort of gangsta' slang, yelling so loudly into their microphones that you couldn't understand a word they said, much less their names. Even the "Thong Song" was poor. Just about everyone in our section of the arena was glad to see him go.
As always, the BsB were dressed to the nines. I love their costumes. They always present themselves as much more mature performers, and a big portion of that is dressing the part. Everybody looked wonderful, especially Howie D., who was sporting a new short haircut! Hey, everyone! He doesn't look like a girl anymore! He's hot again! The only exception was Nick, who still hasn't lost all of the pounds he put on a year ago, and it shows. Not to mention, he couldn't make his personal introduction speech in any form of coherant words...following a few sentences of making fun of his fellow members for saying inspirational mushy stuff, he proceeded to greet the audience with the age-old hail, "WHAZAAAAAAAP?!" Nick Carter, everyone, the ever-articulate.
Everyone's voices were top-notch, especially the sweet and adorable Brian Littrell, who couldn't seem to get enough of waving to various audience members, and saying "hi" to everyone. Kevin was positively outstanding, making it a point to seize the stage for himself on several occasions, something which I'm sure all his fans think he deserves. It's tough to have to carry harmony all the time...you stay stuck in the back! And he looked wonderful as always.
I also have to hand it to AJ, who looked wonderful after his 6-month stint in rehab. He made it a point to thank the San Jose crowd for waiting until he was well enough to perform for us (the concert was delayed a month due to an extention in his clinic stay), and he truly put on a wonderful show. The group did a touching tribute to the New York/Pennsylvania disasters, singing a truly stunning rendition of "America the Beautiful" that honestly brought tears to my eyes.

Hey, I bought him Hot Wings......
They're his favorite food. I think it's a fitting peace offering, don't you?
Life is tough when your muse is mad at you. Last night was just one of those nights...those of you with AIM might be able to sympathize. It's when everybody and ANYBODY on your Buddy List who happens to be online decides to IM you for a marathon conversation, most parts of which are about absolutely nothing relevant!
Needless to say, I had a distinct twinge of foreboding when Ryu popped up with some new ideas. It wasn't that I didn't want to listen to them! God knows, he takes the highest priority! But between looking at naked pictures of Gackt, arguing about television, and attempting to run a club website, I couldn't type a word of what Ryu had to say. It was really good stuff...A/Y angst, even a little bit of K/O drama. But unfortunately, the pinging of Instant Messages was sufficient distraction, and Ryu got mad. Very mad. So mad that he simply gave up for the night and hasn't talked to me since.
*sigh* He's so temperamental...I hope he comes back. I had to finish writing some lemony stuff all by myself, and I'm not at all sure how good it is.
Oh, yeah, by the way...I'm learning how to play Magic: The Gathering...I'm such a geek. Hence the title bar on this page. Any Magic players out there who know the "Eager Cadet" card? What a gooney little fucker that kid is! He's just so...puny and stupid and weird-looking! Oh well, you get a couple of 'em out on the table, and they'll at least whittle down your opponent. Provided they don't have a whole bunch of Insta-kill cards in their deck like Brian does...*seethe*
Despite all the pains, I've got a new little teensy fanart offering...I decided to try my hand at Trigun fanart (Warning: Trigun fanart is not for the faint of heart...it's a harder drawing style than it looks!), so I did a little sketch of Nicholas D. Wolfwood. Take a look!

That Familiar Spark
Inspiration is a wonderful feeling...something that I really haven't had in a while! Sure, I've had some picture ideas, and I've worked a little here and there on initial chapters of various fics. But nothing ever really happened that I could deem worthy of the time spent.
But now, I'm happy to say, inspiration --TRUE inspiration-- has struck. Elysaar, I owe you BIG for this! The fic ideas are teeming in my head, and Wounded Angel is actually worth writing again after our talk the other night!
Tay, I'm sorry to hear about Tsumaru's...er, condition. If there's anything Ryu can do to help set him straight (so to speak...), let us know! Two other things...A) Let's talk trains. Or any other ideas we can think of to get me up to you in December. B) Let me know how much money I owe you, and give me the address to send it to! I've got a full checking account again ^_^
I think that's it for now! My sister and I are going to the Backstreet Boys concert tonight, and we're leaving in half a hour!
Love and Peace!

Be Cool, Stay in School!
Cutting classes is a disease. A serious, debilitating, incurable disease. And I have a raging case of it...It really kinda sucks, because I have to take some legitimate days off this quarter to go down south and look at colleges in San Diego and Santa Barbara, and I don't want to get dropped because those few legit days are the last straw. Oh well. No hope for me, I s'pose!
The Japanese test went well, I think...The dialogue I had to write may have been full of serious faux pas, but at least all the stuff was gramatically correct! I hope.
Still in a drawing mood, still unable to put anything on paper. However...Elysaar, I think the idea you sent me just might work ^_^ I can see it in my head already. If I don't have anything done by tonight, I'll probably have something tomorrow for you. Hurry up and get online again some night! You were making me creative!
Tay, congratulations on getting becki back ^_^ And tell her and Tsumaru (unless they're reading this themselves) that Chapter 3 of "Green Eyes" is fantastic! Completely and utterly so!
Gonna try and draw a little bit now...we'll see how it goes! Hopefully I'll be productive! *crosses fingers*
Love and Peace!

Blah
My spark of inspiration is guttering.....I've been trying to draw fanart all day, with no results. Where did it all go? *sigh* Ah well. As always, I thrive on requests! If someone wants me to do something in particular, let me know!
Elysaar, feel free to take whatever you want! I'm glad you like that picture ^_^ There's a couple more ideas in my head inspired by our *koff* conversations, but for some reason they just won't come out on paper. Ah well...I'll keep plugging at it!
Tay, congrats on the new blog site! I have to say, I particularly like that layout ^_^ But then again, you know me...can't get enough of my favorite assassin!
Well, better scram. I'm supposed to be studying for my Japanese test tomorrow! Wish me luck!
Love and Peace!

Live, from the computer lab...
Hey...Is this the first blog I've ever done from school? Neat...
This has to be one of the most squalid pits of a computer lab I've ever had the pleasure to occupy. Its computers freeze if you have more than three windows open, and most of them are...*cringe Macs! How I utterly deplore them!
*snerk* I just offended a whole bunch of people, didn't I...heh heh heh...
Anyway, this day isn't shaping up to be any better than the last few. I have a voice lesson today which I really don't want to go to, because I have a horrible pressure headache that I went to bed with last night and woke up with this morning. And it isn't going away.
My mom's still hassling me about colleges, but she can kiss my butt because I've finally made my list. I've narrowed it down to: University of Portland, University of San Diego and UC Santa Barbara. Heh, and she wants me to go visit all these places...I'm sure she wouldn't care so much if it hadn't been for my sister. She was accepted into Williams College as a graduate student (a VERY prestigious honor!), and decided to attend without ever looking at the campus. Let's just say that, for a girl who lived in California for 24 years, all her life, Massachusetts was a pretty big culture shock. She was ready to quit by Christmastime. But hey, she's at Santa Barbara now, and she's happy there. So I'm happy for her.
Hey, speaking of my sister, Francine and I are going to the Backstreet Boys concert on Monday! SHUT UP! Yes, you! I'll have you all know that I think the Backstreet Boys are very talented performers, with lovely mature voices (and Kevin is dead sexy), unlike N'Sync who dress up like 16 year-olds because their pervert boss has a thing for little boys.
Hey, "Survivor" starts Thursday! I can't wait! I'm not ashamed to say that I've become a fan of that show...the first one on the island was a joke. But the Australia one became much more of a game, once they realized that viewers get bored with just watching a bunch of beautiful people and angry bitch truck drivers and big fat party animal gay guys prance around naked. Speaking of gay guys...you should see the one they have on Survivor this time! Shexy!!!
I think this is the first time in a long time that I haven't blogged something about fanart or fanfic or anime in general...gotta remedy that.
I'm so sad...only one more DVD of Trigun left! It better have a better ending than Cowboy Bebop, which fell flat on its ass in the last episode! After I finish Trigun, I'm starting in on Rurouni Kenshin (hideous opening theme song and all...*quiver). We have the first DVD already, and I think it's great!
Mmkay, things are getting volatile...the line of people waiting to use a computer is getting rather long and irritable, so I'd better punch out for now. And I'm hungry. I think I'll go get a Snickers.
Love and Peace!
