Head
back to the Sanctuary!
Maybe there's hope.
I got an email just now, from a stranger. I didn't recognize the email address, nor the sender name. In the email itself, the sender admitted she had never emailed me before, but that she had read my fanfiction as well as my previous blog entry.
She then proceeded to give me a message that culminated in the following statement:
"The world may be going to hell, but it's done that before and always recovered. Being optimistic is tough, you don't have to be, just try to remember that, whatever happens, there are always people out there who will at try to understand what you feel, and will care."
This message, sent to me by a perfect stranger, is quite possibly one of the most touching things I have ever had the pleasure to read. At a point where I was overwhelmed by the disgusting evils of human character, this person has made me do a double-take.
Kitsune no Alz, thank you. You really made my day.

Pray for us
I don't care what religion or creed you are. I don't care if you're an agnostic, I don't care if you're a Pagan, a Voodoo practitioner or one of those creepy alien worshippers. Pray for our country. Put aside your principals, and your skepticism, and your self-centered arrogance, and get down on your knees and pray to whatever it is that gave you the spark of existance that our country doesn't go to war.
Today, some bunch of faceless fucking cowards committed an absolutely despicable act, killing hundreds of people. This was no bomb threat! This was no Oklahoma city! This was a premeditated attack, in which THREE 767 JET LINERS were hijacked, and crashed through the World Trade Center!
And now, apparently, America is bombing Afghanistan! Because we *think* Osama bin Laden had something to do with it! We don't *know*. We *think*. Lovely.
Thank you very much, George W. Bush. You've sent this country to war.

"A" is for Amy, who fell down the stairs. "B" is for Basil, devoured by bears...
Well, I got my Pocky-shopping done today. A word of advice...Never go into a supermarket on Sunday, especially one specializing in Asian and Mexican foods. I just might have time to make another run during the week when it's not so crowded, so all my Yaoi-con roomies should let me know if they have any snack requests!
And, as I said, I went and got more Harry Potter cards today...nothing but crappy ones, I regret to say. For a while, I was getting holographics and wizard cards in every pack! Looks like my luck has run out...ah well.
Elysaar, bring your DDR pad with you! Definitely! Brian has 2 of the unofficial pads at home...I'd offer to bring one, but they're secured with double-sided carpet tape underneath, and several rolls of duct tape around the edges. Those suckers aren't going *anywhere*! But I'm bringing my PS2, so we can play up in the hotel room (heh, the people on the floor below are going to hate us =^_^=). I was looking at your manga list...wow! I didn't realize you had *that* much French stuff! I have all the same Japanese stuff as you, except I don't have the Fuji Shinichi stuff, and I DO have "Kizuna" 1-7 and "Haru wo Daiteita" 1-3.
Oh, and by the way, if anyone wants me to bring any of my videos, let me know...I've got "Ai no Kusabi" and "Zetsuai/Bronze" fansubbed, the FAKE DVD, and the first tww "Kizuna" OAVs (Yeah, they suck, but Enjoji is hot, so there...Nyah!) And then there's my Weiß eps 1-24 and OAVs, but I'm sure we've all watched *them* to death. Even so, let me know if you want them! Ah, hell, I'll throw in every single episode of Fushigi Yugi (plus OAVs) on DVD, too ^_^ So much stuff to bring.......
*snicker* It amazes me how, whenever a con rolls around, blogs seem to degenerate into nothing more than communication between hotel roommates ^_^

It's the Matrix, Neo!
Honestly, do you ever get the feeling that someone's watching you? Not like in a "God is watching you" sense, but as if there's someone *watching* you, as if that person walking their dog half a block behind you is actually monitoring your daily walking patterns. Or that person you pass by in the grocery store *knows* where you've been, and *knows* what you're about to do. It's eerie...Some call it providence, others call it coincidence, still others call it angels (a topic which I'll address at a later time, believe me)...But damn, it's eerie!
There's your daily dose of paranoia. Thank you.
Well, Yaoicon is only six days away! Count 'em, six! I'm going snack shopping tomorrow (And no, the Pocky *won't* be stale six days from now! If I don't buy them tomorrow, chances are they'll still be on the shelves six days from now!)...Well, that, and I need some new Harry Potter cards. Brian went and bought new ones the day I was home sick, and I need to catch up. It's an addiction, I tell you. I go through three packs a day! So, to all my loyal fans out there (all 5 or so of you ^_^;;), drop me a line if you'd like to meet up at the con! I'd love to have a chat with people who've read my work, and have their own stuff to share! Beware, though! I'll be hitting the dealers' room HARD! Ah, I don't even want to think about how much cash I'm going to part with...
In other news, welcome back Elysaar! I'm hoping to outline everyone's schedule for Friday, so SOMEBODY will be picking you up! It's my mom's birthday, and my sister made dinner reservations for all 4 of us at 6pm (without notifying me first, mind you), so I was a little worried there. But since you're getting in after 11, I think we'll be okay! *knocks on wood*
I saw "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back" today! My god...I was crying for half of that movie. Anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I get all watery-eyed and red in the face when I laugh uncontrollably. This was BEYOND laughter. This was...wow...It's a MUST-SEE movie! Not only are there dick and fart jokes in abundance, there's cameos by characters and actors from ALL of Kevin Smith's movies...Randal and Dante from "Clerks" are back! (they both look fat and decrepit, but they're back!) I'm sorry to see the View Askew-niverse come to an end, but it had a good run. And with good reason. I mean, who else but Jason Mewes could make the F-word seem so cute and endearing? On a related note, those of you with PS2s and DVD players...go pick up the "Clerks" animated series on DVD! It's worth the price you pay...which actually shouldn't be that much. ABC, owned by Disney, canned the show after airing only 2 episodes, but now all 6 episodes are on DVD for your enjoyment! And enjoy them, you will!
Okay, I think I've plugged enough media today...God, I feel so dirty all of a sudden. No, wait, there's one more...If you have a spare minute, go to Shockwave.com and play "Loop"! It's this little cute flash game with butterflies and trippy music and strange poetry! Yeah, I know...just trust me. It's fun! And addicting, too!
Okay, I think that's it. Is that it? Yeah, that's it. Now I'm off to bed, in the hopes that I'll get some productive stuff done tomorrow! Oyasumi, all!

...
It's almost 8 at night. My head still hurts, and now I have nausea to add to the fun. I've been cleaning all day (when I haven't been lying down with an icepack on my head, moaning). I'm crying my eyes out after listening to "The Last Song" by Elton John. And my friends just called to tell me they're going to go see a sneak preview of a movie they KNOW that I REALLY wanted to see, and to "have fun cleaning."
*sigh* Apparently, gone are the days of having a pleasant weekend.
And no one is online to talk to.
Guess I'll go now.

Heigh ho, heigh ho...
And now, I commit myself to the arduous task of moving everything OUT of my bedroom, and IN to my new walk-in closet (which still has no shelves in it, so everything'll probably just have to be moved again anyway).
I know I was supposed to start this morning, but my aching head felt like it was about to explode every time I bent down to pick something up. So I've been in bed since 11:30 waiting for the pills I took to kick in. Joy.
But no more excuses. Wish me luck. *waves limp little flag*

Wah! Talya, I'm so glad you blogged about Kaikan Phrase! I ordered it fansubbed just the other day, and hopefully it'll get to me in a decent amount of time...*crosses fingers and knocks on wood* Based on looks alone, Yuki's my favorite, too! And I'd heard of Towa's crossdressing, but I didn't realize it was that blatant! *cackles* Haven't seen Gravitation yet, even though I have it as my desktop image ^_^
14 days until YaoiCon! I can't believe it...I feel so...so...unprepared for it, somehow. I don't know why. Talya, if you see me online, wanna help me make out a list of stuff to bring? We can compare what games/anime/snacks we want...I'll bring Pocky!
I'm such a geek. I play the Harry Potter Card Game. And you know what? I'm not ashamed of it! It's so much fun! I tried to listen to an explanation of Magic:The Gathering once, and couldn't understand it for the life of me! So I'm rather proud that I can actually play a card game (intended for ten year-olds...but still...) I even beat Brian!
Once.
And he built the deck I was playing with...
Now that I finished "Goblet of Fire," I have nothing to read! I had to give the book to Brian because I couldn't stand to see it sitting in my room, with Harry Potter's big, round, British head mocking me...
Janie: *sigh*
Harry: Oi! Betcha wish ye had a bit o' somethin' to read, gov'nah! Spot o' tea? Wot, wot?
Janie: Wait...you don't talk like that!
Harry: Piss off, yeh bloody Yank!
I can't win! I'm getting told off by a wussy little *fictional* British kid! Wot the 'ell?
Harry: You suck at talkin' British!
Janie: ...sorry. I haven't got the teeth for it...
*20 minutes later, Janie is floating upside down, a pair of heart-print boxer shorts on her head, with a giant pair of beaver teeth.*

In one of my RPGs, I just reviewed a potential persona sheet that said, under the "Physical Description" section: "his skin will alway be of the matching rich creamy dark tan goodness".
I'm sorry, I had to share...I laughed uproariously at this for several minutes.
...
I wonder if he has a chewy nougat filling, too...

Songs to Cry By
I have little to offer you today, as I'm dead-dog tired and can't think quite straight! I started work this week, and I've been giving English tests to public elementary school kids who speak mostly Spanish. What the tests will accomplish, I have no idea...but the Governor and the Superintendant say they have to be taken. Ah well.
I've been listening to angsty music all evening, and I thought I'd just share some of the songs that give me the most wonderful sense of ennui that inspire some of my angstiest writing. Download them off of KaZaA (www.kazaa.com...it's a file sharing program like Napster...but this one actually works, and has quite an extensive user base!), or just look up the lyrics somewhere, because they're good for tugging a heartstring or two when you're in the mood!
"Song for a Winter's Night" - Sarah McLaughlin (The song that inspired "To Hold the Hands I Love" and started all this insanity!)
"Only Time" - Enya
"Angeles" - Enya
"Wise Up" - Aimee Mann (Off the "Magnolia" soundtrack)
"The Messenger" - The Tea Party (If you haven't heard of this band, LOOK THEM UP! They're amazing!)
"Voiceless Screaming" - X-Japan
And last, but not least...
"Forever Love" - X-Japan (Quite possibly one of the most sad and beautiful songs ever!)
Well, now that I've depressed you all, I'll head off! I have about six hours until I have to get up for work again! Three cheers for no sleep!
Love and Peace!

18 Days and Counting...
Well, Yaoicon is creeping closer...I'm still dealing with Art Show
difficulties. Apparently they're only having room for 60 pieces!
So with 20 artists at 3 pieces per artist, that fills up the whole thing.....I
hope it's not too late. I busted my @$$ drawing these pictures of
mine!
Talya..."Pretty Yaoi Hentai Troopers?"
God, I almost DIED when I read that! Ask Brian...he'll tell you!
I could hardly breathe I was laughing so hard...I also had the thought
of "Yaoi Special Forces", with each of us a different "specialist."
*snicker* I whipped up a Lemon and a Fluff image already...Email
me if you want to see, or find me on IM and I'll transfer them over to
you! Gotta think of two more specialties; Angst is a must-have, but
I can't think of a fourth. Any ideas?
Elysaar...What's up? You've been
quiet lately! Any news about the flight details? We're still
able to give you a ride if you want it, so drop me a note or something
^_^
I s'pose that's it! I'm off to finish reading "Goblet of Fire"...I'm
about a quarter of the way through, and I figure I can finish it by the
end of tomorrow. Wish me luck!

And remember, kids...Shooting people is fun!
I'm blogging from Brian's computer today, at least for now, and we're watching him play Unreal Tournament on his Dreamcast. I can honestly say that I've never seen a person so gleeful at the prospect of chasing another person over a complicated multi-level map in order to shoot him dead, then waiting for him to re-spawn so he can shoot him again before the previous incarnation's bloody chunks of flesh have even disappeard from the screen. Entertainment at its best, my friend.
Now, I won't say that I myself haven't gotten a thrill out of fragging my opponent once or twice on one of the easier maps. And my skill as a sniper ain't half bad either! So when civilization is destroyed by nuclear war and we have to choose our best and brightest to help continue the survival of the human race, I'll be totally qualified! I write yaoi fanfiction, and I can shoot people! I'm essential to the improvement of the breed! *strikes Superman pose*
Here's a thought...I'm not homophobic, yet I like to play with guns! Hey! I could make Charlton Heston explode!

Hey, check it out! I'm actually using the entry method on the Pitas website! Up until now I've been simply copying and pasting the source from Netscape Composer, since I didn't want to deal with the pesky HTML. But I've finally bitten the bullet and decided to do it the real way...wish me luck! Hopefully I'm doing everything right!
Before I forget to tell you all, go to the archive links below, for the August/September entries! I made a lovely large entry for August 9th, and I don't want you all to miss it!
Another little remark...did you all see my owl? Of course you did! Let me introduce Fynn (aka. Squeakers, thanks to Brian), my messenger owl! We'll be seeing a great deal more of him, I hope ^_^
And I guess that's all for now! Come back tomorrow for more random ramblings!
Love and Peace!
