book:motherless brooklyn by jonathan lethem review: this book started off great with lethem’s odd insights into the psyche of a man plagued with tourette's. but once the novelty of this guy and his orphan mafioso situation ran out, it became extremely boring and even stupid, particularly in the last 100 pages. Dragging on and on despite only covering some 48 hours, pulling in characters that I didn’t give a damn about and weren’t even useful to the telling of the story, I was just agonizing over when I was ever going to be able to put this damn book down and get it out of my life. To top it all off, the ending absolutely sucked, so it didn’t even feel rewarding, but quite the opposite – like I had wasted my precious time. Thanks, jonathan.
