book:me talk pretty one day by david sedaris review: this collection of somewhat interlaced short stories is amusing, interesting, and easily digested. (still, it feels a little less satisfying because "everyone" is reading it and saying how fabulous it is when it's just good.) sedaris really makes me laugh out loud – in public, when I’m completely alone in a silent room, or even when I’m just thinking back about his stories much, much later. His take on his sister is stunning, and his family stories are probably my favorite. Yet, the thing that probably impresses me most is that, like many comedians, there’s a very, very dark side underlying everything he writes, so you’re aware, if you just look closely, of it not all being laughter and knee stomping goodness. I appreciate that in a person. Now to read “naked,” the book that “everyone” was reading last year….
