book:harry potter and the chamber of secrets by j.k. rowling review: While not quite as exciting as the first, simply due to familiarity with the characters and the weirdness, this is, nonetheless, a quality follow-up to the sorcerer’s stone. It’s interesting how Rowling really makes the effort to develop the characters and other, smaller story lines for so much of the book, which has the effect of keeping you in suspense about what the actual suspense is going to concern. Still, I felt that some of hermione's actions were out of character – but maybe she's just growing up. As for harry, I'm a little less impressed because he's now acting like he knows what he's doing and I liked him better when he was totally clueless. Looking forward to #3….
