book:harry potter and the sorcerer's stone by j.k. rowling review: this book should be read by all adults and children around the world. Seriously. Rowling set my mind wandering in directions that it hasn't in much too long a time with this first entry in the HP series – just like everyone promises. There are some great adventures and sudden twists and turns. But beyond that, Rowling should be praised for her quality character development, despite the rather stereotypical types, as that’s got to be expected in something like this. Still, the fact that it was her freshman effort did kind of show a bit, as the story got a tad tired and poorly explained at the end. Nevertheless, these downfalls can be mostly excused by the uniqueness of the storylines. A pretty fun and exciting book all around, but i know i would have felt even better about it if only i had a kid to read it to!
