Friday, August 29, 2003, 08:43 p.m. Coolest duvet cover ever?
We had a morning tea for someone (Phil) who was leaving today and Rick's wife made a cheese ball and it was very good and reminded me of Christmas - Christmas before everyone died and frankly it made me a little sad. I think I'm going to try to make a cheese ball this weekend.

Other favorite phrases with choo choo:
"I Choo-Choo-Choose You Valentine" - Valentine Lisa gives Ralph when she feels sorry for him.
"Pardon me boys, is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo?"
"Choo Choo Ch'Boogie!"
Try to work "Choo Choo" into your day today. It's good for what ails ya.

Saturday, August 9, 2003, 05:09 p.m. Dude!
The above article is interesting and all, but I started saying "dude" back when I was in elementary school, because I can remember my Mom telling me not to say it in public, as it was usually used in reference to...a certain type of man. But, I kept on saying it, and still use it to this day. I have no idea where I first heard it, probably TV, as I don't remember it in Little Women or any of the Nancy Drew or Little House books that I was mostly reading at that time. I like to think I bring a little bit of "dudeness" wherever I go. It's a good word.

The Parkers moved into a house around the corner from us when I was about 4 or 5 - their backyard joined our backyard. I grew up with her kids pretty much, until we started getting older. Things I remember about Beverly are that she liked to smoke, she liked to drink Dr. Pepper, and she liked to listen to country music. I hope she's doing all three right now.

The party is still going on, but I just needed to get away by myself for a while. I did have some margaritas today, though, so that was good - I sure do miss my On The Border margaritas with my friends.

OK, we're having a party tomorrow, if anyone can come. Pinata and everything - although I don't know if many kids will be there, so I don't think the pinata will last too long. Poor pinata.

We actually saw this man last week when I went into town to pick Simon up. It was at Burger King. He made me very sad, like I should never complain about anything in my life again. But, it seems he was living how he wanted, and did not want help from anyone, although people kept an eye on him. I don't know, I just keep thinking about him.
Tuesday, July 1, 2003, 11:13 p.m. The Memory Hole
Went to my first NZ funeral today - a friend of Simon's dad died. This was also my first funeral where the body was going to be cremated after the service. I think every other funeral I've been to, the body has been buried.
I am way too emotional at funerals and weddings. Even if I barely know the people. ???
