OK, more from Jeff on the locked in The Ballpark story, because I think it's so damn funny:

"More details on the locked up in the ballpark story. The game was a day game so she was passed out in the bathroom stall for six hours. Her girlfriend had passed out in the car and was sleeping when she found her. The temp is a really nice girl. she is young so I guess she can't handle her liquor. Her friend went to the bathroom with her but I guess she thought she had already left for the car when she never came out of the stall. "

Hey, at least her friend was still at The Ballpark. I wonder who drove home?

Today is ANZAC Day in New Zealand

Another "locked in" story, this time courtesy of my friend Jeff:

"There is a temp working here who got locked in at the Ballpark in Arlington. She got drunk at the game and passed out in the bathroom stall while sitting on the toilet. She woke up at 1:30 in the morning a realized that she couldn't get out of the ballpark. She walked around until she found a security guard that let her out. Isn't that funny?"

Yeah it's funny! That's why I put it on my site!

Some people's dream, some people's nightmare
I love it when it says "they realised they were the only humans left in the enclosure." I don't know, that just makes me laugh. Like the animals are about to take over.

We have some red mushrooms in our backyard (yes, again with the mushrooms), and one is really big, and it kind of opened up, and now it looks like a small birdbath in our yard, and it has been raining, so there is actually water in it. I have been watching to see if any birds take advantage, but I haven't seen any yet.

This is the site to go to when you get those e-mails about getting free stuff when you forward the e-mail, or for viruses, urban legends, etc. I tried it out with a virus warning my mom sent me, and it is really a virus. So bookmark this site now. NOW I SAY!

Hey look, The Go-Gos are back!

Tuesday, April 17, 2001

Every time I am flipping through the channels on the TV, there is one channel that always sucks me in - Fashion TV. It's just runway models showing off the new spring/summer fashions, mostly to trance music. And it's not even great quality filming, but I don't know, I get sucked in every time.

Mom sent me some cornbread mix, so last Saturday I made pork chops, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, and I even called Terri to find out how to make iced tea. I know, I know, but I'm more of a Coke/water/juice girl, and anytime I wanted iced tea, someone else (Terri, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Black Eyed Pea) had made it. Anyway, I thought the meal was great, Simon didn't really care for the cornbread or tea, so that just meant more for me! Yay!

Dudes, sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, but the computer blew out and Simon had to get it running again. We have a four day weekend coming up, so hopefully I'll be posting then. Of course, most of you will be gone also, but oh well. It will be here when you get back. Have a good weekend!

Some controversial NZ news
I have seen what this guy did on tape, and there is no doubt about what he did. It's just weird.

Tuesday, April 3, 2001

Happy Birthday Beth!

Darn it, we can't have nice things! I bought Simon a plastic backscratcher at the $2 shop on Friday, and he broke it last night! What are you going to do?

Happy Anniversary Jennie & Bob!

Friday, March 30, 2001

Congratulations to Terri, Eric, Stephanie and Joseph on the birth of...Abigail Joyce!

7lbs, 10oz, 20 inches long, born at 2:24pm, March 29, 2001.

It's a beautiful day!

You know how sometimes when you do laundry, you lose a sock? Well, somehow I have lost a pillowcase. I just can't find it. It is nowhere to be found.

Wednesday, March 28, 2001

Well, Simon made it through surgery. They even gave him his meniscus in a little jar to keep.

Also, his hospital visit is way better than mine was, as he is in a private hospital. He gets a toilet in his room, a TV with Sky, way better food, and they even came around and offered him beer, wine or Coke before his meal. I mean really!

I just wanted to thank everyone for not disturbing me during the Academy Awards last night.

People, the company that owns Pizza Hut/KFC/Taco Bell might, I said MIGHT, be opening combined KFC/Taco Bell's here by the end of the year. Evidently just a Taco Bell alone didn't do very well in tests, but the combined store did better. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hey, I know it's not great food, but sometimes you just want it. Am I right?

Also, why is it on shows like Star Trek and Farscape no one wears seatbelts, but continually get thrown and knocked around when their ship gets hit. And it always gets hit. Any anwers?

Bob Knight's comin' to Lubbock!

I've been reading a lot of non-fiction books lately, so this hasn't really been a problem, but isn't it a little bit sad when you end a book, and you still wonder what's going on with the characters, but you know you'll never find out, because the book is over? Unless it's a series where you do get a new book, it's too bad for you. It's just a little bit sad.

Are you a freak?
Link via TV-ULTRA.

They have a term here that I think is really funny. When talking about old people, such as elderly parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc, people call them "the olds." As in, "I'm going over to the olds", or "I have to spend time with the olds this weekend." I don't know, it just really makes me laugh.

Happy Birthday Erin!

MMMM MMMM, circus peanuts! Remember when you were little, and your grandma always had a dish of circus peanuts? And how, since you were only little, you ate maybe one or two? And now, since you're big, you could probably polish off a whole bag at one sitting? Or maybe that's just me.

Tuesday, March 20, 2001

I don't know if anyone keeps up with this or not, but our time changed over the weekend, so I am now six hours behind you, the next day. Any questions, please ask.

Went to a restaurant today called Bubba's Diner, which is supposed to have served \"American\" food, and I think the main guy really was American, but it just wasn't that good. Fig and pecan pie? I don't think so.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy Birthday Blake!

Got up at 6:00am this morning to see Mir. It was just a little speck moving across the sky. Cool.

IT'S TIKI TIME! Saw this site on Boing Boing, and thought I would look for some more tiki stuff. How about a tiki bathroom? (I'm pretty sure I ganked that link from somewhere a while ago, but I can't think of where. Sorry.) Check out the cool puffer fish light here. More tiki ideas. The Tiki Island section from one of the coolest sights ever. If anyone wants to buy me anything, they can buy me one of these. I would love it.

Now that you have all the tiki amenities, sit back and enjoy a great tiki movie, Blue Hawaii, while drinking a Blue Hawaii, and listening to Blue Hawaii. Other excellent music selections for your tiki lounge would be anything from here. Now go out and go tiki!

Well, nothing going on here. What about there?

Hands up if you like hummus!

We finally got satellite TV today, and I am very excited. Now I can watch American sports. Like baseball! Women's basketball! Hey, any basketball! Football! (They call American football gridiron here) And you know, other channels. We previously only had five, so this is a vast improvement.

Who gets creeped out when they click on a site and it pops up with one of those Amazon click to give things with your name on it? It freaks me out, man.

Wednesday, March 7, 2001

Happy Birthday Terri!

Last night was Census Night in New Zealand, where everyone in the country was supposed to fill out their census forms. And there was an e-mail campaign to have people fill in "Jedi" as their religion, because evidently if enough people fill it in, it has to be added to the form. So we will see what happens with that one. I'll keep you posted.

"Why are men so attracted to hoes?" - Peggy Hill

Yea! King of the Hill is back on TV here, about a million seasons behind, but at least it's on, so I can't be complainin'. I love that show.
