HAPPY BIRTHDAY STACY! A very good friend, always keeps in touch, always has good goat stories, however, don't ever try to pee beside the car with the car door open in a parking lot beside the highway when she is in the car - you might as well just pee right beside the highway. :)

Christmas was OK, rained all day, but plenty of food, even ham - I hadn't had ham like that in a while, and it was so good. Simon and I had already given each other our presents, but we did get a pretty cool Simpsons Cluedo (Clue) game which has pewter figures and includes Waylon Smithers as Mrs. White. So great.

Phew, what a wild couple of days - wild as in weather. The wind is whipping around, it sounds like the roof it about to fly off, and because of the wind, and the trees touching the power lines around here, we had a blackout for about five hours last night. We had just gotten back from the store with our food, but we couldn't cook the food because no electricity. Couldn't do anything really - had to go to McDonald's and get us some grub, then just kind of sat around waiting for the power to come back on - they kept saying it would be on in just a little bit, but then they kept extending it. At least it is not cold or anything. Toodles.

Oh man, it is 2:23 am and I can't sleep. I fell asleep trying to watch "Rocket Power Race Across New Zealand", which didn't even feature any NZ landmarks, according to Simon, and now I am wide awake, trying to read and flopping around so I keep waking up Simon and Cassie. I don't know, I may have to go do some channel surfing, as I don't really feel like playing around on the net. Thank god it is Sunday tomorrow (and probably raining as it has been all day and all night) so I can sleep in.

Whew, what a weekend. First, the weather was absolutely fantastic, so I sat around Saturday (contributing my two cents) and watched Simon and various people try to build a hovercraft (it hovered, sorta). Went to a barbecue Saturday night, and Simon got drunk, and ended up holding a trash can as he went to sleep. Then today we went to a dog picnic through Simon's work, and unfortunately we had to leave about 10 minutes after we got there because our dog picked a fight with every other dog that got remotely close. Then we went to Simon's parents and he wired up their camper, then we came home. I'm tired and sunburnt, so all in all a good time.

Don't you hate it when you're eating some pineapple off a plate, and you accidently tip the plate, and pineapple juice goes all over your lap, so it looks like you peed in your pants, so you go dry your pants with the hairdryer because you need to take the dog for a walk, and after the pants are dry your crotch still smells like pineapple? Yeah, me too.

Went to Armageddon this weekend. I mainly wanted to go to hear the three actors from Stargate SG-1 speak. We came in at the end of Teryl Rothery and Don S. Davis, and heard all of Amanda Tapping. I thought they all were very good, but Simon said he enjoyed Terry Pratchett more. We didn't really do anything else at the Expo, I looked for the guy who was selling the Moe's Tavern t-shirt that I could kick myself for not buying last year, but I did not see him. It was very crowded, so we got out of there as soon as possible.

We also went down to the waterfront to check out the trials bike competition at the Vodafone X Games. The day was really beautiful, and I really enjoyed getting out.

And today we put up a new cover on our porch, so hopefully rain will not get in. All in all a good weekend, and I'm off Monday also, so it just gets better. Whoo-hoo!

Is this funny? Because I sort of think it is.

Hey, anybody remember about elementary school time some number you could call and you heard a clock ticking, and supposedly at midnight you heard a scream - someone had climbed out of the clock and hacked someone with an ax? Anyone? I'm pretty sure I would have been sleeping at midnight, and probably would have been too chicken to call, but did anyone else?

Man, yesterday it was cold and rainy and windy, so cold we had to build a fire, and the wind was blowing the rain against the windows, and today, it is sunny and very nice. And where am I? On the computer. But don't despair, I came home and took the dog for a walk right off, so we enjoyed the sun then. It had better start getting warmer, or else!

We went and heard Terry Pratchett speak yesterday. I have never read any of his books, but Simon has and enjoyed them. It was a bit like being at a Star Trek convention - people dressed up as characters, and asking questions about characters and plots I had no idea about. But he was a good speaker, if a little short on time. I think he had about three speaking engagements that day, and had to make time to sign books. I'll check some of his stuff out.

The talk was held at Pataka, a museum and the public library in Porirua. A very nice complex, I quite enjoyed myself.

Well, for my trivia answer on how the World Series got it's name a magazine here claimed it was because it was sponsored by the New York World newspaper. However, after surfing around to confirm this, I actually found this was not true. Pretty much the owners just wanted it called the World Series. So, I'm throwing that question out, and I'll try to research my questions better BEFORE I post them on my site.

Simon's friend's dog Jack peed on my purse last night. I couldn't believe it. That is three strikes for him, he is out of the house. Luckily my purse is some kind of canvas, so I just threw it in the washer, but still, it's annoying.

Speaking of three strikes, the documentary Baseball by Ken Burns is showing here now, and I missed it the first time around so I am watching it now - so great. And here is a trivia question about baseball that I got out of a NZ magazine:

Why is it called the World Series when the whole world doesn't play in it?

People, have you ever sat with your lover in front of an open refrigerator, and fed each other food from the fridge? If you have, please e-mail and let me know so I can heckle you. I see this on commercials and in movies but I mean does anyone really do it? Or am I the only one who would burst out laughing if I did it? Your feelings, please.

Aw man, Monday, what can you say. Mine went by quickly at least.

Had a $12.00 margarita Friday after work. It was OK, very small, they had to round up someone who knew how to make one, and she said they don't sell very many. For $12.00 I can see why! Spotted the small bottle of this at the store today, and may have to get it tomorrow. Sounds very tasty!

THE LORD OF THE RINGS MOTION PICTURE TRILOGY - THE EXHIBITION

I was looking at my senior annual the other night because Simon's friend's dog peed on Simon's briefcase which was sitting on the box the annual was in (has our dog peed in the house - no; have other dogs peed in the house - yes). Anyway, I am now as old or older than a lot of my teacher's I had then. I still feel like that 17 year old, only a little more confident. They seemed so much older and more mature, but maybe they didn't feel that way either.

Simon's friend was looking at the annual, and laughing that we actually had a slave auction. I can't believe it myself now when you start thinking about it. Do they still do that? And do they still have a Warrior as mascot and do they still dance in the end zone? Do they still have pep rallies? Evidently we got quite a few pep rallies taken away from us that year, and they had to be after school. Thanks Ross Perot. I had totally forgotten about that. I wonder what teachers are still there? Oh well, gotta go. Later.
