Music for belly dancing
I was watching Major Paynelast night, and one scene was in a nightclub, and in the very middle of the screen were two white people dancing - badly - to Pop That Pussy, except in the film it was "Pop That Cootchie". I don't know, I just thought it was kind of funny.

Ugly Naked Guy

Simon and I got a night at a really nice hotel in Wellington for a wedding gift, so we went there last week when everyone else was on the South Island. The next morning, we were having breakfast at this little lounge on the same floor as our room. We had a great view of the harbour, but I was kind of facing these other buildings. As I was looking out one time, I noticed something...naked. "Is that ass?" I asked myself. Yes, an ugly naked man was in a room across from the hotel, ironing or packing or something. Simon had a good look too, and then we had a good laugh. Good morning!

Music Essentials

I don't know if anyone listens to World Cafe on KERA, but the host, David Dye, is now picking an essential album every weekday. If you want a kick-ass music collection, just buy everything he recommends. You have to add your own cheese, but who doesn't like cheese?.

Welp, it's my last weekend as a single person. I never thought I would say that. I guess that just comes from being alone for so long, and watching it happen to everyone else around me, but not to me. I really wish everyone could be here to celebrate the big day with me, but I know it's not possible for most people. Money sucks! Anyway, probably won't have too many postings this week, due to having to clean up before MOM gets here, and everyone else to pick up, and a few last minute things to organize, but I will try to keep everyone updated on what is going on, and will post photos as soon as we can get them. I think I'll start drinking now, so I'll be nice and relaxed next weekend. Oy!

Michael J. Fox

Happy Anniversary Tom & Stephanie!

Who couldn't wait for Thursday nights when Family Tieswas on? I couldn't. I LOVED Michael J. Fox! They just showed the last episode of Spin City with him last night. Very sad. So check out his site above so we can see more Michael J. Fox in the future.

Pee-Wee Herman "I know you are, but what am I?"

Ah, Pee-Wee. He brings up so many memories. One of my favorites is one night I was going to see Pee-Wee's Big Adventureat the dollar movie in South Arlington with some friends (yes, hard to believe, but I have a few). We are walking up to pay, when a car drives up, and a bunch more of my friends get out, and they are going to see Pee-Wee too! Hooray! I think we ended up sitting on the front row, but who cares. It was a great night.

The Eagle - KEGL 97.1

Remember when The Eagle first started? EVERYONE listened to Stevens & Pruett in the morning. Uncle Waldo, Cynthia Scooterpie, Fish Heads. And then at night, it was Kidd Kraddick and the "Boogie Check". Remember? I used to listen to the radio instead of watching TV! Those were crazy days.

Happy Birthday Laurie!

A Love Bizarre - Sheila E.

Happy Birthday Zac!

Well, I couldn't find any type of audio sample for the above song. Sheila E. was all over the place back then, but not anymore. And on the Hey Rob!! tape, Jennie kept cutting this song out, saying I probably wouldn't like it, but I loved Sheila E.! And I think this song was co-written by Prince. You can check out Sheila's own website at this link.

We Are The World (cheesy audio)

How come you don't hear this song anymore? You hear Do They Know It's Christmas? every Christmas, but you never hear We Are The World. Did the Brits do it better than us? Of course they did! AND they did it first.

Heaven - Bryan Adams (midi)

OK, who didn't slow dance to this song? It was a great song then, and it's still a great song now. In fact, why don't you print out the lyrics, load up the midi, and sing it to the one you love? Go on, I won't tell anybody you did it. And you might get lucky!

Alive & Kicking - Simple Minds (midi)

First on the list is Simple Minds. Good band, good song.

Wellington Weather - I think it's going to rain!

I was listening to the Hey Rob!! tape Jennie made me, and thought it would be fun to write down the 80s references such as songs, food, happennings, people that I heard, and then bring them up with my little comments on my web site. So, that's what I'm going to do over the next few weeks. I hope you enjoy it!

This was in our yard after the recent rains

Man, I really don't like mushrooms or fungi. I like to eat mushrooms, but when I was a kid I would freak out whenever there were mushrooms popping up in the yard after a rain. They are just creepy to me. They just pop up one day, then disappear a few days later. What's up with that? And what's up with the word "spores"? That word is creepy too.

Happy 10th Birthday Stephanie!

It's Raining Men, Hallelujah!

My friend Jennie sent me this tape that her and some other friends made me back when I was at Tech, and then I found a station here that plays hits of the 70's, 80's and 90's, and I was practically crying at my desk listening to some of the songs, and listening to Jennie's tape. It makes me said we can't hang out at Jennie's house anymore, or have her drive us around in the car, that some of my friends from then don't talk to me anymore, because I really miss them a lot, and the show Freaks and Geeks always makes me laugh because I just remember that time of liking someone, but they don't like you, they like your friend, and you have to act as the go between between the person you like and your friend, meanwhile someone else likes you, but you don't like them...

I guess I'm just feeling sentimental right now. I like my life now, just miss people from back then, and getting to act like fools. If anyone else has any memories from back then, please e-mail and I will put them on the site.
