Friday, December 31, 1999 The enemy is...the US government!
Well, it is already New Year's Eve here in NZ. Simon is still in bed, and it is almost noon! I guess he is expecting to stay up all night. I just wanted to say that this has not been my best year, in fact, it has probably been my worst, and I want to apologize to everyone for my behavior and attitude this past year. I know I have not been the nicest to everyone, and I'm really going to work on that this next year.
Well, have a Happy New Year! Hope we all make it! Be careful out there, and if the ATM machines start shooting out money, don't take any, because they'll find you anyway! You know those cameras are going to be working tonight. Or are they?
Actually, an ATM machine did malfunction here in Wellington, and was giving out double what people asked for, but just showing the amount they asked for. Unfortunately, they got everyone's information when they put their card in. They said the line was down the street. Anyway, Happy New Year again! Salud!
Wednesday, December 29, 1999 So long, Clayton Moore
Happy Birthday, Stacy!
Well, it was a very Austin Powers Christmas. I received a Dr. Evil glass from Richard, and today I received my Fat Bastard doll and Mr. Bigglesworth doll from Dennis and Erin. I also got a Chia Pet, although it is just a bunny, no Austin Powers connection. Maybe they should think about it, grow hair on Dr. Evil. Hmmmm...
Tuesday, December 28, 1999 So long, Curtis Mayfield
Well, I made it through the Christmas season here, and here's the new things I did: Had a taste of my first Stella Artois, had a taste of my first parsnip, had a taste of my first christmas pudding (it was sprinkled with brandy and flamed as it was brought to the table!), and made it through my first Boxing Day, although all we did was go to the movies. All in all a pretty good holiday. Hope everyone else had a good day too.
Thursday, December 23, 1999 Take Five
I finally got Real Player downloaded, and was sitting here listening to a radio station, and they started playing "Take Five" by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Sesame Street used to have a cartoon of triangles dancing to this song, and for some reason, it really scared me. I would have to go run and find my mom until the song was over. I couldn't listen to this song until I was in my late teens without freaking out. My dad was a big Dave Brubeck fan, and I think I finally got the courage to play his record, and enjoy it for the classic it is. True story.
On a "Good News" note, I got my work permit. Yeay! Thanks to Stacy, Gina and Tanya for writing me letters. Of course, now I actually have to get a job. Oh well!
Tuesday, December 21, 1999 Golden Globe Nominations
Well, we went to Simon's office Christmas Party Friday night. It was pretty good, just not enough to eat. Everyone wanted to meet me, and they said it was good I was back, because Simon was a lot happier. So that made me feel pretty good. They had an MP3 jukebox, and of course I played "It's Raining Men." Hey Shane, remember "It's Raining Men in the basement!" Ha Ha, that was classic.
Also, so long to Grover Washington, Desmond Llewelyn, and Hank Snow.
