Why Blue Tattoo?   |    09:04 p.m.

Well, since you asked...

I'm at my desk, trying to come up with names for this page, a typically frustrating task. The usual names make the list--variations of names I have used elsewhere--but nothing is jumping out at me. I turn on the CD I've been playing nearly non-stop since I bought it last month: nickels for your nightmares, by The Headstones. I look at my homemade calendar that hangs on my wall, which for January made up of downloaded screen captures of the ultra-cool Callum Keith Rennie and [Headstones lead singer] Hugh Dillon as their badass punk personas in Bruce McDonald's Hard Core Logo. Inspiration hits me with a sledgehammer.

So how about a Hard Core Logo reference?

I decide to use an HCL song, and the first one that came to mind, their ballad 'Blue Tattoo," was available. Good thing, otherwise I could've been left with 'Who the Hell Do Ya Think You Are?' 'Rock & Roll Is Fat & Ugly,' 'Sonic Reducer,' or 'Something's Gonna Die Tonight.'

Note: The layout of this page is based on Laurel Krahn's weblog, which I selected because the multi-nested tables create such an attractive style for weblogs. While some of her groupings of links have inspired some of the choices I made, the content of the weblog is mine. As I get better with the HTML I will experiment with alternative layouts, but I wanted to get this project started with a design that I knew would work.
