I finally fixed my Netscape problem. (Note no link, not even a bobolink!) All my e-mail is now safely contained within files accessible by software controlled by neither Microsoft nor AOL/Time-Warner. Huzzah.

The downside, such as it is, is that I'm now using IE5 as my browser, exclusively. Any suggestions on alternatives? I'm keen to try Opera, but I don't want to just go through one after another - if there's a clear winner these days I want to hear about it.

It seems that in the last month every website owner on the planet has learned to incorporate multiple pop-up and pop-under windows into their code. Who is to blame for this, and how can I make a personal example of him or her?

SIFF is vindicated! Amo and I saw Ginger Snaps last night. It was surprisingly good and surprisingly bloody. Imagine Heathers w/o pulled punches plus werewolves in Canada. One of the lead actresses has my vote for best of the year, though I doubt that vote will count for much. If it gets US distribution, all but the queasiest should see it - it's probably the best look at teen gender and family roles I've ever seen.
