The most progressive income tax proposal I have ever seen, and it's from a hardcore Republican. He suggests - seriously, I think - cutting the tax rate of the bottom 50% of wage earners (up to around K/year) to zero. Of course, some of the consequences of this would work to the GOP's long-term political advantage, but how could anyone say no?
