CDISC - Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium - Laboratory Standards Team (LAB)
CDISC announces the publication of the CDISC Laboratory Data Interchange Standard Version 1.0 Final. The CDISC Laboratory Data Interchange Standard has been developed over the past two years by the CDISC Lab Team, which includes representatives from pharmaceutical companies, central laboratories, contract research organizations (CROs) and technology application developers. The Laboratory Model has been developed by this team through multiple iterations and tested with representative laboratory data. The Model was then further revised to address comments provided by a 65 member Laboratory Review Committee of industry experts and a sixty day public review.

14 Co-operation CEN/TC 251 and HL7
Good cooperations are going on. There are no financial implications.
What will be the procedure to send out comments to the HL7 organisation?
Tom Marley and Mark Shafarman will organise the way of commenting to the HL7 docs.
The board of HL7 has made the decision to release the following HL7 standards to ISO standards:
Version 2.4, the CDA level 1 ANSI approved standard and the HL7 RIM.
At this moment Mark can't give full clarity about the timing of HL7 and their planning about the data types.
The HL7 data types could be presented in a tutorial in Oslo.
Gunnar will be contacted, about the organisation of this idea.
IDENTIFICATION OF SUBJECTS OF HEALTH CARE
SUPPORTING STATEMENT FOR WG1 NEW WORK ITEM PROPOSAL
Aims and reason for activity
Within most health care jurisdictions the delivery of health services is undergoing paradigm
changes, including:
a shift from institution-centred care to consumer-centred care, together with greater
empowerment of consumers
greater emphasis on continuity of services supporting quality and safety, health promotion and
maintenance
decentralised health care, in which services providing evidence based effectiveness are
provided such that the organisational / administrative boundaries are invisible to consumers
...unambiguous identification of the subjects of care is a critical
success factor for health care reform.
