[[ LAYOUT ]]

Even if I tried for a million years, I could never pull off a Tokyo Babylon layout. But I've always wanted one. And then Amy, being the sweet and amazing designer that she is, made this Subaru-kun layout for my bday. Thank you!

Hosted by pitas.com and A.NET! My blog has been online since Aug. 30, 01. *wooo! -_-;*

September 21, 02 11:29 p.m.

I didn't do ANYTHING today which means tomorrow I have about 12 hours' worth of stuff to get done. Well, I re-watched LotR and I liked it even better the second time. Two Towers looks okay...kinda dark and battle-ish. I hope there'll be more of Pretty Boy!

All work and no play!

September 17, 02 10:18 p.m.

Today was, for the most part, a good day! Although it started out kinda down. I had trouble reaching REM sleep last night, and had to wake up very early today for my Old English class. And I was late for my class because I could not drag myself away from the TV...it was the original "Saved by the Bell", so perhaps you can sympathize. However, class was great! Teacher finally taught us some OE--specifically the short and long vowels. Remember, any word ending in "an" as in "settan" is the modern equiv. of the infinitive! Unfortuately, I got locked in one of those squished up rows so I couldn't go talk to this interesting guy who I met in class 1. It's so annoying when you don't have a seating plan, and every class, you end up sitting beside someone new. Anyway, I was rather glad to see he didn't drop the class though--maybe on Thurs., eh?

After OE, I had no classes, so I decided to waste 2 tokens and go home. Of course, I HAD planned on doing some work, but ended up coding a--rather complicated--new layout for Echelon!

Late afternoon, I left for my introductory class to fencing! Classes officially begin next week, so we didn't really do anything except learn the basic (BASIC) footwork. Ouch, I hadn't anticipated how tiring it would be: garde, step and lunge. There's three types of swords, the foil, epée, and sabre. I forget which one beginners use...umm...I think it's the foil. At the end, two really advanced fencers sparred off to show us "how it's done." Fast. Really fast. And violent, in a controled way. What am I getting myself into!

Umm...yeah, didn't do much work at all today. But, I don't really care^^;

"...once you love someone, you will do anything to that person." LOL! Yes, beware...I will do MUCH to that Special Person XP.

En garde!

September 10, 02 12:53 p.m.

My five English classes are all incredibly exciting!! My MBA (Major Brit. Authors) prof also taught my father, and my dad thinks he rocks and I have to agree. Canadian Short Stories is taught by a woman...who is kind of dull. Oh well. I love Canadian authors though, so I don't really care. And wow, my Shakespeare prof is so wild! She came into our smotheringly hot class room dressed in a lime green & yello two-piece suit. She also has a mohawk and her favourite Shakesperean play is Richard II. I read it in the summer to prepare...it was okay. The language was a bit too flowery for my taste though.

I'm also taking Poetry/Prose pre 1800s. I don't know anything about the Restoration era, and I've never read Pope, Johnson, Swift, or Hobbes, so I predict that this class is going to be a really challenging one.

Lastly, I had Old English today, and the professor was so infectiously enthousiastic about Anglo-Saxon culture and language that he pretty much won over the entire class.

If I had any regrets about dropping Life Sci before, I don't now. It's such a great feeling about taking classes that you truly love, and being around fellow students who are equally passionate about English literature--and who don't snub you for not understanding the difference between genes and alleles! Urg, gotta go soon, much reading ahead....but first...

Hello you Waterloo-er! Don't tell me...you're either an engineering or enviro-engineering students right?^_^

You're back from the air force (was it?)! You look so pretty in that uniform ^_^. Good return.

Bathed in sweat from the sweltering heat--dontcha know

September 5, 02 09:24 a.m.

I have to try to sell back my old books today, but it so happens I caught a cold. A part of me wants to be outside enjoying the sun, but another part just wants to bum around the house. Guess which half won ;_; Blech.

I just heard on the morning news that another two people may be infected with West Nile in Toronto suburbs. How freaky! Two days ago, I saw a documentary on Meningocol Septis (sp?), a type of bacteria that can cause the dreaded Meningitis. It's a very disturbing disease that is highly contagious and most people die from it. Within days. And if you do survive, you lose limbs. Even though I'm not a science student anymore, I still love reading up on these things. I'm always talking to my Mom about the scientific things that I've read about. But recently, I often stop myself in the middle of a sentence and experience a wave of embarrassment. I think, what right do I have to speak about the Kyoto Accord when I flunked out of first year life sci? Really, I don't regret the decision, but at times, the self-doubts come back. At least they always pass!

Anyway, after waiting more than 1 hour in line, I finally got to sign up for some recreational and, hopefully fun, classes at the AC. In the fall starting in late September, I'm going to be taking ... dun dun dun... Fencing! And then in the Spring term, Ballroom dancing! My Mom paid for it, which is a life saver 'cause I have little money left. I'm very excited. Even though you can't fence and dance your way out of a life threatening situation, I still want to learn them. It's always been a childhood fantasy of mine, fueled by books like The Three Musketeers and "Hamlet". Oh, Cpt. Picard fences ^____^.

I have been KILLING myself with trying to code and upload new layouts before school starts. Strategos has a new layout. It took me a bloody long time to get through all the files, so I hope you like. I'm coding another for the clique. I don't want to, but it's kinda necessary. Actually, I would love to pitch that bitchy notepad and--my inability to code quickly--in a foul ditch, really! Nothing frustrates me more than to have to go through 4 page long codes, trying to figure out where the mistake is, line by line. I need to get myself an editor! Or put the collective on hiatus. Hmm..

Wow, that is an adorable new rosey layout! Savie, I love the new anime collective and all the new layout archive and the new Lain site and your new Lain blog layout! I'm sorry you didn't win the competition. But don't give up, 'cause if you keep up all the great writing that your doing, you can use your talent to get a scholarship when the time comes.

Aieee, I really must get going. Hmm...all this blogging has cleared up my sinuses ^_^;;

Burning up with a cold

September 3, 02 12:07 a.m.

Tomorrow, I have to get up bright and early for my root canal follow up, waaah. After I sign up for some (hopefully) fun programs, and depending on how much money I have left, I intend to renew my ROM membership. But there's a difference between planning on doing something and actually doing it. Haha, we'll see!

Happy Labour Day everyone. Kinda late, better than never. Today was a total TV vege out day! I saw a fascinating and hyped up Canadian documentary called "First Person Shooter." It's about how one father became so upset with his teenage son's disturbing obsession with "first person shooter computer games" that he decided to make a documentary about it. Now that I think about it, I do seem to know a lot of males young and not-so-young who are video gamers. Like my beleagured friend M, I don't really understand the appeal of video games. What's so amazing about an overload of boobage and gore? To be fair though, I've never played anything more sophisticated than Pac-man, so I shouldn't really be critiquing. Me, I love the simple old games like Chess and that Chinese game, with the coloured stones. Yeah. Not that I even have time to play those anymore!

There was a Samurai Jack mini-marathon to showcase the show, now that it's hit Canadian shores. Of course, I just had to watch all 1.5 hours of it to see what the hype was about. I LOOVE the incidental music for it!! If there is a soundtrack, I would so buy it. Umm....other than that, I thought the show was a bit...slow.

I'm currently deep into "The Faerie Queen" by Spenser. Wow, I would never have imagined that a man could write such lush romantic prose. ^_^

Speaking of romance...Mary....aww. Write me when you're free and splurge all girl friend XP.

I'm soooo envious of you! A dorm, room mates and a new laptop named Pandora--neatness! Sadly, my "destiny was foreordained" to go to U of T since I was only thiiis tall. But now I like my uni so all's well that ends....but there's still 3 more years for development...so we'll see how "well" it all ends. XP XP

G'night, it's well past my bedtime.

Another day in the life of.

September 1, 02 05:20 p.m.

There's this one girl who e-mails me a while ago about exchanging site links. So I link her. Then she e-mails me again about being clique affiliates. So I link her. The thing that bothers me is that after all this time, she hasn't linked me. I'm very put off to say the least.

Meh.

August 29, 02 12:21 a.m.

New layout by Amy! She's such a lovely gal; thank you!

Anyway, when I posted earlier today I only had a few seconds to post. Not that I have anything really interesting to say.

Hehe, everytime I see myself in a reflective surface (ie., mirror, glass doors, CD cover...) I check out the new plum highlights in my hair. I'm so obsessed! I feel so girly, and it's a nice feeling.

I finally got to see Beijing Bicycle on DVD. For those not in the know, it's a new chinese mandarin film set in my home town, Beijing. It documents the day-in-the-life of two young men and the bicycle that connects them together. Truly, the film's a whole lot better than that cheesy summary. The film showed a street-wise side of Beijing that I have never experienced in real life, so I was both confused by some parts of storyline and the colloquial language, and fascinated too. You don't know how much I want to visit my family in Beijing.

I got the new Coldplay CD. The mellow Brit sound is exactly what I'm looking for now that I'm over my punk/rock faze.

My father left for uni again. This summer we totally bonded again, which is so lovely for my piece of mind. He's such a focused, organized person that those qualities have rubbed off on me. Going into second year, I feel steady and prepared, a far cry from the hectic jumble of first year.

OMG, how time flies! I gotta get up early tomorrow; so, adios.
