I...handed my last essay in. Excuse me while I die in peace.

Darling, you're alive! Yay!

{{ Friday, April 25, 2003 | 08:33 a.m. }}

Pen Pen is a wusssssss Who's sleepy? Certainly, not I. Certainly, not after pulling 2 all-nighters in a row. Haha, I'm feeling a bit hallucinatory right now, just like the Wanderer, from The Wanderer (die die die die....). Okey doke, my essay is due at 5 PM today, I still have to translate some OE quotes, so I should be able to hand it in. Grrr, I hate myself for procrastinating so much.

{{ Thursday, April 24, 2003 | 11:56 p.m. }}

I just randomly decided to sign into my account at Fanfiction.net, something I haven't done in over a year, and they have a "new" section called "Review Archive"--a list of all the reviews I've written for other peoples' fanfics: 236. OMFG, isn't that mad?! I hope that authors found my reviews helpful, detailed and encouraging.

Poke Poke, post post ;_;

{{ Thursday, April 24, 2003 | 10:09 a.m. }}

Saw this URL in an old Met thread, it made me laugh so check it out! Japanese Emoticons.

OMG, that's a narly Stigma layout! I just read the first...uhh...30 pages of the it, and it's exquisite. I love the non sequitor dialogue, the the the...well, everything. I want to own it, actually hold it in my sweaty otaku palms...err, you get the picture^^;;; BTW, you're so pretty!

New link, Minuet (or is it two girls?

{{ Wednesday, April 23, 2003 | 10:13 p.m. }}

This morning, I stood very quickly and blacked out for what seemed like 2 minutes--but actually more like 2 seconds. Afterwards, I had to lie down because all I kept hearing was the sound of tacking sound of velcro on velcro. I haven't fainted in my ENTIRE life, and no I'm not pregnant. It's this killer essay...I can't concentrate on it (obviously, since I'm blogging instead of writing) and I haven't been getting enough sleep either. I'm kind of glad that I got to experience it, good reference for stories, etc., or for understanding Victorian lit. ^_^;;

I can't wait to read Vol. 19 of Angel Sanctuary. Raphael's story finally gets a conclusion (I think...). Oh! And Love Mode is getting suspenseful.

{{ Tuesday, April 22, 2003 | 07:34 p.m. }}

That little bitch stole Leigh's beautiful Ayame layout!!! What nerve--*sputters*--unbelievable!

OMG, my Beowulf/Wanderer essay is still not finished. Excuse me while I jump off a cliff and get devoured by Grendel's lovely Oka-san.

{{ Monday, April 21, 2003 | 11:31 a.m. }}

This girl blatantly stole Leigh's layout; people like her--unapologetic, sugary sweet/"innocent"--really bug the hell out of me.

{{ Saturday, April 19, 2003 | 11:58 p.m. }}

She has so much courage, it's scarry.

Gah, I'm seriously having trouble writing about warrior ethics in Old English poetry >_<;; I did drag my lazy butt to the library and got some hopefully useful books on the subject, but that's the extent of my "work". Been reading a manga called Psychometer Eiji and it's quickly become my favourite police manga. Inspector Shima (the babe who looks like Megumi from RK) is my new non-sexual crush!

{{ Saturday, April 19, 2003 | 12:47 a.m. }}

*Worships Trin for sending Witch Hunter Robin* Lol, I finished watching the entire series in 4 days *blinks madly*. I don't think the episodes were consistently interesting, but the ending episodes made up for whatever quibbles I might have. NEway, am looking forward to getting some of my fav. eps once the official DVDs come out whenever that may be. BTW, Ningen.tk has awesome WH Robin wallpapers! Go drool over them now!

My stressometer is hiking up as the deadlines for my essay, and 4 exams are getting closer and closer.

Washu, I think one of the reasons why the Trigun boxset is so expensive is that they only put 3 eps. on 1 disk, for a total of 8 disks. The "omake" are not very exciting, though the title menues are surprisingly spiffy and imaginative.

Speaking of Trigun, I've noticed that my Vash shrine has gone from getting 3 hits a day to over 20 recently. I think this could be due to the fact that the dub is now being aired on American TV? That's awesome--I mean, getting more hits is always a pleasure, but I'm even gladder that more people are getting to know this great series.

I got Archangel by Sharon Shinn, but I haven't started to read it yet. The plot sounds so...well, boring. I also picked up a fantasy from the library called Green Rider but after the first 100 pages, I was unable to read more. The premise is certainly very intersting: Karigan (great name for a fantasy heroine, huh?) runs away from boarding school after getting expelled; on her way back to her Daddy, she bumps into the King's messenger who coughs up blood, makes her be the next Green Rider (or Royal messenger) and promptly dies. Still, despite the cool plot, the writing failed to grab me: the paragraphs are very short, and I felt like I was being told what is going on instead of following Karigan's experiences. NEway, it's not like I have time to read so maybe it's a good thing I'm out of entertaining reading material.

This is a very impressive anime reivew page, especially considering all the reviews were done by one person!

Apparently Hyde was the model for Rosiel. Isn't that mad? Who's hotter? Well, I've made my choice ^_^

{{ Tuesday, April 15, 2003 | 12:16 p.m. }}

I met my TA to pick up my JA/Dick essay (86% weee!), and we went for coffee because I had a million questions to ask him about grad school (which never ceases to scare me to death--7 hours comprehensive exams, waaaah). The serving lady was grinning at me, and I was grinning back thinking "yeah, don't I wish!"

An MP3 site is in the works...

This is just a beauitful Alichino layout. I also took the opportunity to link Mada @ Lost in a Dream, and Rady @ Illustrious Slumber!

{{ Tuesday, April 15, 2003 | 01:14 a.m. }}

Ohh, arigatou Aki, Nichole and Di for the plugs! I wasn't expecting anyone to actually take notice of this layout since it is so simple. Yet, after doing a whole slough (is that the right word?) of complicated/garish layouts, I'm in the mood for something nice and clean and simple. Last month=Rococco, this month=First Empire!

Spring is almost here! The squirrels are crouching on my back fence, tail up, and squeeking like horny squirrels (which, they are of course^^). My little male cockatiel is getting crazier by the day. Congrats on your new acquisition! NOT that I'm comparing you to the aforementioned creatures *ducks*.

I think my meds are making my immune system weaker than it used to be because it's taking fucking forever for these scars to heal >_<.

{{ Monday, April 14, 2003 | 06:20 a.m. }}

YAAAAAY!!! I was able to sign up for the 2 summer courses on my "ideal" list--despite ROSI's meltdowns. You wanna know what I did? Okay, first, this time I have cable instead of phone line. Second, I stayed up all night long, co-ordinated my computer's alarm clock to Yahoo's one, and refreshed the ROSI homepage at 6:00 AM exactly. At the same time, I had typed out all the course codes and put them in sequence. Next, it was a matter of being persistent--trying to login as quickly as my fingers press "CTRL-P". Oh my God, I feel sick.

{{ Sunday, April 13, 2003 | 04:35 p.m. }}

I just spent all morning pouring over my course schedules for the next two years with Dad (we do this twice a year)--it's always so unpredictable (hence, stressful): will ROSI crash like last year because too many people was trying to login at 6 AM? Will the "TBA" turn out to be a jerk? What if my first AND second choices get taken--which courses will I have to sacrifice? The Donne course was cancelled this year *sniff*. Gomen, I'm needlessly complaining because I know everyone experiences the same thing.

I'm so glad that the Shoujo Station Forum is back up! The Jane Austen thread is neat.

Thanks for the plug sweetie! You're going to England? *squeels and stomps* That's bluidy awesome, I hope you will have a great time. As with most people (I assume), I want to go to England sooooo badly. Awww, poor Lainey--I do hope that the nightmare assignment can be buried soon. Hikari, I'm sorry to hear that "Real Life" people are giving you a hard time. I hope your situation improves. Nichole, it sounds to me like you can handle being isolated from the crowds (if the occasional calls for it), unlike some people who grow depressed when they feel like they're being a loner. Good for you! The way I see it, one should be selective about the people one interacts with. I don't like being around mopey, super-trendy, or underachieving people (that's just my prejudice...but recently, I've been trying hard to be less judgemental), so in highschool, I tried to distance myself from such crowds. Right now, though, that's a different story! Most people I meet in uni are overachieving intellectuals--so much more interesting than I! Horray! Err...btw, what's IB? ^_^;

Speaking of smart cookies, I stole this quizzlet from Laetitia! (BTW, I'll definitely check out that chinese movie next time I'm at Blockbusters^_^)

What was the first record you owned?
Tori Amos' Strange Little Girls (2001). Previously, I just bummed classical CDs from my parents^^;

Is there a song that reminds you most of your childhood?
Can't remember.

If your life was a movie, what song would play over the following:

Opening credits: Furuba opening (grin).

Love Scene: "Tada Hitotsu No Nozomi" from Xtv, "Butterfly Lovers" by He Zhan Hao + Chen Gang, an aria or two from "The Beggar's Opera" by Gay.

Driving scene that consists mostly of flashbacks and love lost: "Her Most Beautiful Smile" and "Faraway" from Rurouni Kenshin, "Memory of Fanelia" from Esca, "Rakuen" from Trigun.

Closing credits: "Paul & Liese" from Angel Sanctuary.

If applicable, name a song or concert that moved you to tears:
Do Ballets count? If so, then Giselle.

Name an album that is perfect all the way through - no filler, no bad stuff:
Loreena McKennitt's Book of Shadows.

Music you like that could be considered a guilty pleasure:
Boa, (that Korean/Japanese pop singer...*ducks*).

If your music collection was about to go up in flames, which 5 CDs would you save?
Bizet (Carmen), Esca/X/Kenshin/Cowboy Bebop CDs (which I burnt *ducks throwing objects*), Tori Amos (Boys For Pele), Loreena McKennitt (Book of Shadows) and Ella FizGerald (Ballads).

Is there a song that describes you or a situation so well that you could have written it?
N/a.

Which underrated artist deserves more attention?

Natacha Atlas (she sings in arabic mostly, but also dabbles in English and French--check her out!!!)

Has a song or artist changed your life in any way? If so, how?
Tori Amos' "Winter". Sometimes, I have "issues" with my Father, so this song never fails to remind me how much I really do love him.

What is your favourite soundtrack?
Prince of Egypt, Scarlet Pimpernel.

What is your all time favourite music video?
N/a. But, I like the futuristic or fantasy videos by Linkin Park/Evanescence & David Usher.

Current favourite radio hit:
N/a.

Taboo*Yawns* I just finished watching a strange Japanese film called Taboo. It's set at about the time of RK (but has a post-modern feel to it); about how a new recruit's beauty creates disharmony in the ranks. I'd probably give it 3/5 stars--for the swish fight scenes, interesting characters, and shounen ai content^_^;;

{{ Friday April 11, 03 | 05:38 p.m. }}

Dear God, I just found a huge petstore in my neighbourhood with the CUTEST cockatiels I have ever seen (besides my own, of course ^_~). I'll definitely be dragging my Mom to visit this place.

Ha, how do you like that for an inane post?

{{ Friday, April 11, 2003 | 01:16 a.m. }}

Other than my Old English essay which is due right before exams, this P/P reading log is my last piece of homework for the year. Dammit, I've really procrastinated myself into a corner this time!

BTW, the new layout features the Mad Hatter from Angel Sanctuary (gee, WHAT a surprise). It didn't take too long to do (and it was so much fun finding cool manga pictures of the Hatter!). The image source is linked on the right. Even though this pretty (albeit, slightly creepy) woman is immoral, unscrupulous and has tunnel-vision, I still find her endlessly charming--like her alias, make-up, androgyneity and honest self-perception are all so cool. Oi Amy, doesn't she look a bit like Karen?
