We have a new bird in the house! She's a "pearl" baby cockatiel and I got to name her again--so I called her Faye Faye. After Faye Valentine from CB of course. Incidentally, in mandarin, the name is a homophone for "Fly Fly". Still, I need to stop naming my pets after anime characters! My baby boy Chu Chu is very curious about the pretty girl and he's already tried to court her, but since it was only Faye's second day, she shunned him. Even though I'm really happy that Chu has a companion to spend the time when my Mom's at work, and I'm at school, I'm also sad because before Faye, I was Chu Chu's most favourite person. Now that Faye's here, Chu Chu will most likely be less dependent on humans.

The Goo Goo Dolls were on Jay Leno two days ago. They preformed "Big Machine" from Gutterflower and "Broadway" from Dizzy before the credits came on. Cool!

Must...tone down on CB obsession...!

July 25, 02 12:25 p.m.

grrrr!! Oh MY GOD! I got up at 6 bloody AM (today was the first day for second year students) to sign up (online) for my courses only to find that MANY other people (MANY!!!) did the same thing. So, we all ended up cancelling each other out. The entire SWS (Student Web Service) was taken offline for an hour because of the "high volume of traffic". And then, when I did manage to sign into my account, everytime I chose a course, the page would not load, and I'd either get a "try again" or a "page not available". Once, it even made my entire computer crash. This frustrating purgatory continued up to 10:30 AM. As a result, I wasn't able to sign up for 2 courses that I desperately wanted/needed: Science Fiction & Fantasy and 20th Century Canadian literature. And to add to the injustice, around 11 AM, I suddenly found 1 space open for Sci-fi course, so I grabbed it--only to have the stupid page crash. When I logged in for the zenith time, that precious space was gone. GONE. Gone with the wind! Fuck!

%#_#**(#!!

*sigh* I'm probably overeacting. I was able to sign up for equivalent courses but it sure as hell fucked up my beautiful schedule--one that made it possible to get out of class by 2 PM everyday of the week. ;_;

Hex hex hex hex!!!

July 24, 02 12:48 p.m.

All these new layouts deserve special commentary...as if you're not sick of me blabbing already XP.

Leigh, I love the new blog AND the domain layouts!! The former is so hot; orange is one of my absolute favourite colours--so I love how you integrated it into the picture. The latter is...well, a typical example of your madly inventive HTML skills. *thumbs up*

Hikari: I love your new WK look! I have that picture of Aya (is it Aya even?) on my hardrive too, but I couldn't figure out how to edit it because half of his face is cropped out, and the stark +/- space was confusing. Needless to say, I'm very impressed by the way you chose to use that difficult base picture. *_*

Laine-chan...your original fanart layout is so adorable! Waiiiiii!

Di, wow, beeeautiful new layout. It's gloriously pink and feminine. I hope you're feeling better now; and if it helps, I'm a nearly twenty-year-old virgin; I have yet to meet the right guy (translate: I've never dated), and you know what? It's okay! Di, please don't think I'm being patronizing, but keep in mind that--even by the age-obsessed North American standards--you're still young and really, getting a boyfriend at this time shouldn't weigh so heavily on your mind. Right? Right now, my advice would be to simply relax and indulge yourself in all the things you enjoy at the moment--anime, sports, j-drama, music, drawing; whatever they may be--because once college rolls around, you may be forced to give up some of your favourite things. Urg...I'm getting sidetracked now...

Sav, cool art deco/flappers blog layout! I can't wait to see this new domain layout ^_^.

I hope I didn't forget anyone.

Blink, thanks for the nice comments about the 2D layout! Oh yeahhh...I don't really like 2D either, but his pictures seem to be the most layout-easy^^;

Mary, I'm not experiencing anything extraordinary with my Yahoo account. Then again, these days, I only use their mailboxes.

Today, since it's a nice, cool and fresh day, I was planning on going down to the Athletic Center and maybe going shopping solo after. Shopping by yourself can be so therapeutic. Wheee. I'm off.

<------------------------------------------->

Mid-summer layout cleaning time?!!

July 20, 02 05:59 p.m.

Spike Finished watching Bebop...oh, wow. I won't give away any spoilers, but let's just say the finale was totally awesome and very twisted. I should watch it again with the Japanese cast sometime.

<------------------------------------------->

Bang

July 19, 02 01:45 p.m.

Updated Spring C and Enchanted Forest. I'm also in the process of cleaning out of my mailbox--so to those who I owe a reply; I'm on it^_^;;

You're blogie's back; huzzah!

My CB DVDs arrived today; but I wasn't home to sign the form thingie, so the mailman took them away again. How charming for me ;_;

I REALLY need to start on the research Dad assigned me, like, now. He's coming back in less than 2 weeks. So...gotta go!

<------------------------------------------->

Site stuff, again

July 11, 02 01:39 p.m.

I finally finished moving my Fruits Basket gallery to A.net! There are new caps as well as MP3s.

The guestbook also got a new layout^^;

I bought a Sloan CD "Pretty Together" and another Gorillaz CD (for my friend). Accck, I don't think I like Sloan very much. Their sound feels like vintage Beatles or something. THey also sound too much like Weezer >_<; I couldn't find "A Boy Named Goo" by the Goo Goo Dolls ANYWHERE in Toronto, so I finally just got it out of the library. Of course, as with "Gutterflower" and "Dizzy", the first time I heard the songs, I was unimpressed. I tuned it out as background noise. Eventually though, the music started to take shape and become more defined and memorable. This is how it is with ALL of their songs (IMO): it slowly creeps into your consciousness until one day, random lyrics pop into your head while descending the stairs or chopping up tomatoes.

You got a domain? CONGRATULATIONS! Okay, divulge next time we talk on MSN or something!

Oh, Passions is on in 9 (^____^). If only Sheridan and Theresa would TRULY die for once, eh?

Site Update

July 9, 02 01:11 a.m.

I read this stupid nutrition book with pretty pictures of beautiful people with gorgeously sculpted bodies and a foreword by Madonna. According to that book, I--standing at 5"3, weighing 130 lb, aged 19) should only consume 1020 calories per day. So, I did a little tabulation of all the stuff I ate today and it came to around 2000 calories XP XP. Oh, I don't know. Every so-called expert seems to be spewing some number or other; makes things very confusing for the average girl. But the most ironic thing is that most of those doctors who list all the statistics about how North America is getting obese, are themselves pudgy and flacid! Phaw, the double standard just bothers me is all.

my cowboy bebop theme song is road to the west

what's your cowboy bebop theme song?

Sonja, that was a fun and weirdly accurate quizlet. I guess it all goes to show why Bebop is far more preferable than the useless, pale-faced shrink^^; I'm getting Session 4,5,6, hey? ("Hey" is the British Colombia alternative to the Toronto "eh?")

Hikari, Happy belated Birthday kid! I'm very sorry to hear about the host server breakdown. It's truly becoming an epidemic ;_;

K and D kept talking about the movie "Zoolander" last time we met; so I finally saw it today. Ohh...ILMAO, spoofing fashion gurus is always great^^;

<------------------------------------------->

Optimum calories intake/day: 1020 (yeah, riiiight!)

July 6, 02 07:34 p.m.

The feedback on the reopening of Lon has been awesome. If I'd had an inkling of the + response, I probably would've gotten the site up sooner }:> Thank you Di, Savie, Amy, Hikari, Leigh, Laine and anyone else I've forgotten to thank. *glomp*

My Current Desktop I think I'm getting back into the X scene @_@! Amy; love that Subaru wp! I've been downloading some X MP3s at this site. Can you say Doom Music? I love it; I wanna see the series, I wanna see the series. I also discovered yesterday Lonely Evil through the X-Ring. It's a fabulous X collective; probably the best I've seen since Sak.net's demise.

Today was uneventful. I finished watching The Others and loved it. I went down to campus; wow, it's SO deserted on weekends. For tonight, I'm staying in to get some miscellaneous things done like...replying to mails, some typing assignments from Dad, and maybe do some reading too. Without the stress of summer school, I've rediscovered...well, life.

<------------------------------------------->

Somebody leave the light on

July 4, 02 11:28 p.m.

My collective is back online finally! Thanks big time to Amy for hosting me. The new URL is:

http://echelon.alexiel.net.

Please update your link?!

<------------------------------------------->

Yay, I completed something finally!

July 3, 02 12:15 p.m.

Now, Dad's leaving for Scotland tomorrow. Wail. Oh, I quit therapy yesterday. My shrink was an AWFUL communicator and she didn't help at all. I attribute my new found mental stability to the work of my parents 'cause in the end, the only people who support you the most are your family. In my case, that's Mom and Dad.

No jobs.

<------------------------------------------->

I feel a bit abandoned

July 1, 02 10:40 p.m.

Wah, my best friend is leaving town to work as a free laborer on an organic farm for the rest of the summer. Chairman Mao is probably rolling in his grave; laughing. For those who are familiar with the Chinese Cultural Revolution, you'll know exactly what I mean. However, we did have an AWESOME Star Trek fest last night. We saw First Contact again (so far, the BEST Trek movie! Can't wait for Nemesis to come out!); then saw "Trekkies" the Documentary. Those die-hard fans are disturbing, yes, but at least they know how to have fun^^.

It was 38 degrees Celcius in the shade today. 30 in the house. Literally, I'm here typing and I can feel sweat roll down my neck >_<;; Hell on earth and damnation to Global warming! I've taken to hiding in my basement (it's developed) because there, it's only 24 degrees.

No jobs yet.

Leigh! The Stork & Boy layout is fantastic! My favourite yet.

Adios, I HAVE to get out of this heat.

<------------------------------------------->

All alone in this big city

June 29, 02 12:16 p.m.

I totally forgot about my little Soemon Obiichi shrine. Woah, I guess that's what happens when the said site gets a total of 4 hits a week^____^.

New X-centric link!

The employment front appears to be dismal. No one is hiring this late into the summer ;_; Which means, all I do all day long is eat, sleep, go to the gym, read, watch tv, eat... ARG! I actually do have a shitload of stuff to do this summer, but it's hard to prioritize when all you can think about is that all your friends have jobs and you don't.

Finished reading a mystery/suspense novel called "Birdman" ^^; by Mo Hayden. I give it a dismal 2.5 out of 5 stars. Basically, the entire novel was gore without a logical storyline, peppered with esoteric police acronyms (IPE, DI, etc.) that, I ASSUME, was supposed to make the dialogue more realistic sounding but failed miserably. Really, I was lured in by the media hype; never again.

Oh, yeah, also finished "Jupiter"...whale-like ET in the Jovian sea???...whatever. Ick, I'm getting pretty sick of pop novels now.

<------------------------------------------->

No jobs no jobs

June 25, 02 12:41 p.m.

I'm preparing my PATHETIC resume right now; I need a job for the summer since I'll no longer be taking chemistry. But I feel really pessimistic about it. All the highschool kids are out. I have no previous work experience. Bahhh.

<------------------------------------------->

Mushroom job huntiiiiiiing

June 24, 02 05:49 p.m.

What Seven Deadly Sin Are YOU? [?]

You're PRIDE! You like yourself, and you aren't afraid to show it. You don't like to admit when you're wrong, and you think you're better than most. You're represented by the color violet.

<------------------------------------------->

Truly?

June 24, 02 10:19 a.m.

My first therapy session is TODAY. I've been going over my mind the potential questions she might ask me. I even practiced/rehearsed some of it for my friend--but we ended up getting sidetracked on when our Star Trek fest should be (lol). *sigh* Actually, surprisingly, I don't feel that nervous (which is always good) but...hmm...I do feel a bit melodramati about the whole thing XP.

Started on "Jupiter" by Bova (see below). Isssssss very interesting. I think I'll take it with me today.

<------------------------------------------->

t minus 15 minutes...and counting

June 23, 02 11:32 a.m.

This wallpaper site is hands-down, one of the best out there. Unfortunately, I've nearly gone through their entire stock and must now search for a new untapped source. Yes, it's yet another little obsession of mine >:)

<------------------------------------------->

Plug time, take 1

June 22, 02 10:33 p.m.

Hey, cool new Gorillaz inspired layout^_^. The bright colours are really fooey. Sorry, I'm too lazy to upload the "Clint Eastwood" MP3 tonight. I don't know why there's a strange line break between the "L" links. WeIRd.

Whoo Savie, I keep forgetting to tell you how cool This Bouquet is. Well...WOW!! The premise for "A Beautiful Trip" is intriguing--I hope you'll write more. Get it published one day, do. Thanks for the adorable e-card, friend.

Di, I'm VERY impressed that you stuck it through and finished Spring Fragrance! Looks beeeeautiful. BTW, I WANNA SEE HELLSING TOO--But I don't think it comes out until way into July? BOoo...not that I have money anyway.

I finished reading "Venus" by Ben Bova. So sue me for having a taste for sensational sci-fi^^. NEwho, I thought it was a great book. The hero was such a weener in the beginning, but he grew up (metaphorically) into a pretty kick-butt astronaut/bounty hunter/amoroso. The chick, Marguerite, was a dead bore though. Yeah, good reading all in all.

Eeek, how the time has flown!
