Today we went on our geography field trip to the Dandenong Ranges National Park. It was about an hours drive away and when we got there we did heaps of walking! In one area we had to walk down about a thousand concrete/rock steps covered in mud- a number of people feel over (luckily I wasn't one of them). When we got to the bottom our legs were shaking it was really weird. On the way back to school we stopped at McDonalds! Jo had been complaining the whole trip so she was finally happy :) The McDonalds we went to was really cool! It had this whole train track set up just below the ceiling and this train kept going around on it. The playground was also really cool! I know I sound like a little kid but oh well.

And yes, I know it's Tuesday :) MONDAY MISSION
1. When was the last time you pampered yourself?
I actually can't remember the last time I pampered myself, I've always wanted just to have a nice relaxing day but I've never had the time.
2. When was the last time someone pampered you?
Try about three years ago when my Dad gave me a massage.
3. Describe the last time you recall really feeling loved
(other than from children or pets). Probably last year when I had a fight with my friends and I still had two great friends to fall back on. They really helped me through those times.
4. Has your use of the computer ever caused any arguments? What's the story there? It's pretty much because I think I should get to spend the most time on the computer because I (or I think I) know the most about it. I use the computer to create something constructive while my sisters want to use it to play games!
5. What's the most embarrassing thing your Mom ever did? She actually hasn't done anything terribly embarassing, maybe just some of the clothes she made me wear!
6. I've met some adults who've never learned to swim, and others who never learned how to ride a bike.. Is there anything that you never learned as a child that you probably should have? I wish I had learnt to open up and express my feelings more but at the same time know how to control my emotions.
7. I have no idea who said it (and I spent all of two minutes trying
to research it), but "someone" once said, a picture is worth a thousand words. Post an image that says more than words. Or instead, describe a picture you recall which touched your heart.
BONUS: What's love got to do with it? Alot :)

We were talking about radioactivity in Physics today and some of the stuff I learnt was amazing- well probably not to you but I found it really interesting! For example, 1g of Uranium produces the same amount of energy as 1tonne of brown coal. We were also learning things about Chemotherapy, the nuclear power plant disaster in Chernobyl and what happens in a nuclear power plant. I think one of the reasons this was so interesting is because we don't have nuclear power plants in Australia. The only time I've really seen one is on the Simpsons! Hehehe I love that show- it's amazing some of the things that they think of. I think I'm getting obsessed with my blog again- whenever I get a new layout or find out how to do something cool I do like 10 posts over 2 days! I'm sure it will die down again soon. I was bored before so I clicked on one of my links, then to a link on that page and so on. It was really good, I got to see heaps of people's pages! I could have gone on for ages but my sis wanted to use the computer so I couldn't.

I'm obsessed with quizzes at the moment... but I like that Lara Croft one! Angelina Jolie is so damn pretty- it's unfair! Netball training went well tonight but Jenny told me off for saying sorry too many times. I need to push myself harder at training and at games! We have nine people in our team now! The last few weeks we've only had five players so it will be weird having time on the bench again but that will be good so I can take a breather. The Logies are on TV at the moment but I really can't be bothered watching them. I found out that All Saints got best TV show and Ditch Davey got best new actor so that was cool!! Ditch Davey's on Blue Heelers :) Tomorrow night I am going to see Crossroads starring Britney Spears with Amy and Sara- I got free tickets so if it ends up being absolutely shocking it doesn't matter. Hopefully it will be good for a few laughs though.

I just got back from the Italian Day at the Immigration Museum. It was pretty good- there were people from Sicily doing the tarantella, a lady explaining how to make gnocchi, people talking about their immigration experiences and just about everything Italian. We even had pizza and an Italian cake for lunch! We were meant to be going to it as a school excursion but no-one ended up going! It was a good day though. Tonight I have Bayside training which hopefully won't be too hard!

Netball was sooooo much fun today!! We were playing against Firbank and I was playing goal keeper for the first half. It was really good because I kept getting all these intercepts and then the shooters hated me. One of them called me a phsyco- I was trying not to crack up laughing. In the last quarter I got to play centre which was really good because I got to run heaps and go crazy. Later on we had Rep training which was really good. Even though we were being serious we were mucking around at the same time. Emma and Chelsea were coaching us and they give us heaps of cool tips- It's weird because they were sort of saying the opposite to my regular coach but the stuff they were saying made a lot more sense.

Okay I have just realised that this page doesn't automatically add the entries I write... that's why it isn't showing up for a while so I'll try to not get so stressed about it in the future. I have added a random image generator to this page, I can have up to 100 images rotated but at the moment there's only about three so I'll have to keep working on them.
On Wednesday I had parent teacher interviews, they went really well so that made me happy! It's nice to actually be able to talk to my teachers now, without being freaked about what they are going to say. When I started high school, all those years ago I would always see the year 11s and year 12s and think how old and grown up they looked. They seemed to be able to handle any situation with ease. But now I'm one of those girls and while it's getting easier to handle some things, it's definitely not happening all the time.
On Thursday I had another day off school for Anzac Day. In the morning we watched the 'Princess Diaries' which we had rented the night before. Then we watched the footy on TV. I can't believe Essendon lost to Collingwood. And Peverill broke his arm, just as he was getting back into the team and going so well. Thursday night we went to the State Netball and Hockey Centre, where I play Tuesday nights, to watch the National League. The first game was between Phoenix, who won, and the Firebirds. Then the Kestrels won their game against the Orioles. When we left we went and bought some dinner from KFC, we were really hungry because it was 10:00 by that stage! At school yesterday someone was saying that 10% of KFC profits goes towards the Ku Klux Klan... I'm not sure about the truth in that though. Anyone know?

Well this is my first time doing the Friday Five- here it goes!
1. What are your hobbies? Playing netball, coaching and umpiring netball, lifesaving training and competitions, checking out sites on the internet. I also love writing letters to my penpals.
2. Do you collect anything? I collect Pluto things. As in the little dog that Mickey Mouse owns from Disney. I think he is really cute- I think I have between thirty and fourty items at the moment. I also collect stamps- I like the idea of having a book full of hundreds of little pictures from all over the world.
3. Is there a hobby you're interested in, but just don't have the time/money to do? I'd love to learn how to surf! I think that would be the most awesome feeling- I love riding the waves on my knees at lifesaving training especially when it starts to get kate and the waves are rollling in so I think surfing would be a great thing to try next summer :)
4. Have you ever turned a hobby into a moneymaking opportunity? No, not really. But coaching netball is I guess a hobby for me and I got paid for it the other day which was unexpected. However when I was little I borrowed all these books on entrepreneurs from the library and I was planning on making all these crafts and selling them to people however I never really got around to doing it. I guess I was only 10.
5. Besides web-related stuff (burbs, rings, etc.), what clubs do you belong to? I belong to some sports clubs- St Paul's Netball Club, Bayside Netball Club, Black Rock Lifesaving Club and that's about it.

I am really happy at the moment because the new layout is up! Last night I was really annoyed because it wasn't loading correctly but now it's all good so it doesn't matter. I like the image on the left of the screen, I did it with paint and was really happy with it. It might not look like some fantastical thing to you but I like it. The name of this layout is 'so little time... so much to do'. There are two reasons why I chose this. The first is because that is what my life feels like at the moment, I have all these essays, tests, netball training, phone calls to make and I don't have much time to get everything done. Exams are coming up in about 6/7 weeks and I know I should start with some notes or something now but I really can't be bothered with it. So I guess I was looking for some words to sum up what I have been feeling and then I realised that the theme song from So Little Time was in my head 24/7. So I chose a line from that. If anyone hasn't heard of that TV show, it's on Fox Kids where I am and it stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Yep, the girls from Full House and Two of a Kind.

These last few days have been pretty stressful. When I got back home I discovered that my computer has a virus so I'm not very happy about that. But it's working alright today, hopefully the problem is fixed- It had better be!! I got back from Sorrento Sunday night. When we were down there we went horseriding (I love you Zena- you're beautiful!), shopping (I was going to buy 2-piece bathers but theyre not very practical for lifesaving training)and just hung around at our house. Sunday night we went to La Cassetta for dinner to celebrate the last day of the holidays (by me, I mean Mum, Dad my two sisters and me). I had some foccaccia and risotto ortolana (rice with vegetables). Monday was the first day back this term, the day dragged on forever. By hometime it felt like I had already been at school for a week. Tuesday I had netball after school. I played wing defence the whole game. Last week was my first proper game there and I played shocking. Luckily at training we were working on defence moves so I had my confidence up. I thought I played pretty good so I was happy, even though we lost. Yesterday I had an english essay on the subject of "Trace the supression of Macbeth's conscience through the play" which I bluffed my way through, spent half the essay off topic and managed to get a B! Today I had my physics presentation on "Fallout shelters and other protective measures" as we have recently completed an assignment on radioactivity. Hopefully that went okay!

Yesterday was heaps fun. Went to scienceworks with my sister and mum, just to have a look around. It was okay, some of the exhibits were really good, but not as good as I remembered them to be. Oh well. After we looked around we went and saw a show in the planetarium which was definitely the highlight of the day. You got a comfy chair to lie back in, and when i say 'lie' I do mean, lie on back like your asleep! The ceiling was dome shaped and it was this big huge movie screen so that you could see all the stars. I loved it!!
Today I'm going out to see 'Queen of the Damned' with my friends, hopefully it should be a good movie!

Something to think about [these will most likely be added to the sidebar]
If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following:
There would be:
57 Asians
21 Europeans
14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south
8 Africans
52 would be female
48 would be male
70 would be nonwhite
30 would be white
70 would be non-Christian
30 would be Christian
89 would be heterosexual
11 would be homosexual
6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth, and all 6 would be from the United States.
80 would live in substandard housing
70 would be unable to read
50 would suffer from malnutrition
1 would be near death; 1 would be near birth
1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education
1 would own a computer
When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for acceptance, understanding and education becomes glaringly apparent.
The following is also something to ponder...
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness... you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death...you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If your parents are still alive and still married... you are very rare.
If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

I am so happy!!! I've finally moved everything from my old site at blogspot to pitas!
At the moment everything is the same except now there is no ugly advertising at the top of the screen! And I didn't have to pay to get rid of it!! *jumps up and down in delight*
One thing though, I wasn't able to get starirl.pitas.com or anything similar so I choose awomanswoth.pitas.com as my site. For the time being though, my title will still be star girl.
Also, more things to celebrate! I finally got my download of AIM to work (although I have no one on my buddy list yet!) If you want to add me, my screen name is Stargirldreams. Also today, I copied all my old entries from the other site and archived them here (I could never figure out how to do it at blogger)
If you are visiting here could you please vote for me at bloghop, simply by clicking on one of the little squares on the left (thankyou!)
I have also changed my adoptions. Previously I had a toybox with about 20 adoptions in it. Now I only have a few, but most were chosen for a special reason.
