apparently, people who search for the weirdest things on yahoo's search engine...
for example, jalan kayu chocolate cake among others...
will be show web results leading to this page.
the funniest one so far is sexual pleasure by the sense of taste.
u'd think this webpage was porn or something.
anyway, happy deepavali everyone. :)
.....
they say "ignorance is bliss"
sometimes, the line between pure bliss and sheer ignorance is a thin one.
am i genuinely happy, or simply oblivious to the things that i should be worrying about?
afterall, it is quite impossible for man to maintain a sunny disposition for life.
but if ignorance truly is bliss, i must be the most uninformed person around.

11:32 p.m.
vote for cheryl!
...as head prefect. :)
all nominated head prefects and monitors were announced today and began gathering their campaign teams...
such propaganda.
newae, we had gamesday today too.
i played captain's ball, five stones and mini-hockey.
hockey was a joke...
we were screaming and whacking and swinging our sticks...
basically anything to get the ball rolling.
the grass suffered under our blind attempts at aiming for the ball.
and we were laughing so hard...cos we felt so pathetic.
haha...but it was fun. :)
i was so happy so play five stones again...the nostalgia.
it was the craze in primary sch!
that's why it felt good to play it again. :)
anyhow, today was much more exciting compared to yesterday.
had a boring day of assembly followed by ld...
which turned out more like a history class.
we were discussing the role of women in the past 150 years...
and whew.
i never really liked history...geography's waaaaay better. :)
went to sarah's house after that and watched mulan.
the weather these days have been terrible...
sweltering heat, no less.
at least i'll get a good night's sleep later...
the 3 bedrooms have got new air-con sets installed.
fresh, clean bedsheets...crisp, cool, silent air-conditioner...yay! :) Monday, October 20, 2003
11:59 p.m.
finally! pitas is working...
though the previous entries have all been erased.
argh...
anyhow, a quick recap of the past few days...
friday was mahjong day!
sab, sarah and i went over to mitch's place to play the day away...
been such a long time since i last played. :)
we pushed our picnic back to saturday because of the heavy thunderstorm on friday morning...
it was so heavy!
so newae...i met sab that saturday afternoon to take the bus.
while waiting for her at the bus stop, i began taking note of carplates.
when u're bored, these things become very intriguing.
i think the lastest carplate i've seen so far is the sfc one belonging to the black mercedes i see in the carpark every morning.
makes my family car seem so old, really...
considering our's is an ancient scy.
so newae, sab and i met mitch, sarah and tanny at holland v to buy a couple of things before heading down to the botanic gardens.
saw many dogs and cute caucasian toddlers...
haha...and we also fed the swans, fishes and tortoises in the pool with mitch's jam sandwiches.
i don't think it was much of a picnic...
all we had were potato chips, chocs, milo and aloe vera juice...
quite pathetic, really.
but the company was good. :)
after a lot of deliberation and travelling from town to ps to town...
we decided to check out pac plaza since sarah and i needed new wallets. :)
too bad there was nothing nice...
but i got a pretty stussy top. :)
very happy with that purchase...
we trudged home very tired pple at around 8...
and then, sunday!
i love sundays particularly after the exams...
no reason, i just do.
went for catechism and mass...
i've decided to use my baptism name genevieve as my confirmation name too.
it's too much of a hassle handling so many names...
and as much as i detest it, genevieve is quite unique larx, huh.
been scouting around for white clothes and it hasn't been too fruitful...
gotta get the outfit in a month's time...
i seriously can't wait for confirmation to be over and done with.
then i'll be a full-fledged catholic. :)
tiff and i met mrs rae, my catechist from 1 of my primary years, before mass.
it was quite heartwarming having her remember us...
it's been years!
and she's still as nice...:)
after mass, dad drove the family down to town for some serious retail therapy. :)
bought lotsa books in borders, and i finally used my gift card on a paperchase diary.
i looooove it.
as usual, it's striped and everything.
but it's still so funky. :)
i saw the macromedia flash software at the applecentre that i so badly want...
but it's a whooping 1000++ bucks!
with that kinda money to spend...
i could easily hire someone, no, hire a couple of experts to make me a gorgeous flash website. xP
oh, and i saw the most beautiful eyes in the world today.
during lunch at bigO in wheelock, this expat and his singaporean chinese wife were seated beside our table with their 2 children.
and oh my gosh, the eyes of their elder child are to-die-for!
he's about 10 or 11 and already his features are so nice!
but most prominently his eyes...deep, dark and long-lashed.
pretty, without looking too gay.
haha...and that's why i think pan-asian babies got it good. :)
on an entirely different note, it rained this morning...
setting a dreary mood for today's return of the exam papers.
i did unexpectedly well in a few of subjects and scored expectedly badly in a couple of others.
jan and i were sitting next to each other throughout the whole ordeal...
cos we take pretty much the same subjects...
and it was so demoralising for me to compare myself with her kick-ass grades!
she got distinctions for maths!
got back 5 subjects today...
awaiting the other 4 tomorrow.
scary!
after sch...trish, mitch, doreen and i went to sab's house.
just got back home...
dead beat!
hopefully tmr will bring better news than today's...
i don't think i can take anymore surprises.
haha...alright.
this entry has been a looooong one. :)
i still can't believe my past entries have just vanished like that!
blehx...
okae i should be going off now. :)
enjoy this post-exam period everyone! Wednesday, October 1, 2003
10:11 p.m.
i've never felt a hate so strong
it frightens even me
but my heart don't lie, i can't be wrong
i hate that foolish wally.
friday, please come.
yay!
mrs soh has officially given birth.
i'm so happy for her.
really miss her alot...
she's the kinda teacher that u appreciate only when she's gone.

04:24 p.m.
i'm here in the sch library now...
researching for our art project.
printing pictures...and interrogating louisa as to who the girl/boy is.
stupid girl won't talk.
and making so much noise.
newae, i'm quite happy today.
finally passed my 2nd amath test of the year. :)
*karina is an irritant! yays.
stupid girl.
to top it off, we played handball during pe and the whites won!
muahahaha.
and we were the shorter, smaller, *esp. you, less-sporty team.
haha.
and mr foo gave us kit kat for children's day! :)
oops...library's closing now.

08:21 p.m.
feeling so guilty just typing this.
i shouldn't be online with only 1week to the exams.
but nvm...
i'm online on a mission.
for research.
yes.
yesterday was the usual drop by sab's church, math tuition, science tuition, and daidee.
i think sab won me and mitch again.
had yummy apple rice, then mitch and i went home.
had catechism and mass this morning.
gerald told me i'm short of a few lessons from the 70% attendance mark needed to get confirmed.
it's one of the criterias - regular attendance.
but i don't see how i couldn't hit 70%.
i think i'm quite regular.
xP
after class, went for mass with tiffany and davina.
it was the children's day mass!
it was so good...
with the children's choir, children lectors, children collecting donations and children-everything.
though the skit was pretty short.
hmmmx...
unfortunately, we weren't eligible for the cocoa trees goodie bags saved for the children's party.
there were chocos and everything packed in bags stacked in the hall.
lucky children.
bet i could have passed off as a kid.
after mass, dad brought me and davina down to orchard.
while winding down the windowshield to pay for entry to the takashimaya carpark, my dad's windowshield jammed and wouldn't close.
dad says he saw it coming, cos he winds it down many times a day at work or whenever he parks.
on our way home from shopping, he wound down the other 3 windows...
and we rode all the way home with wind slapping our faces hard - front down centre.
i could barely open my eyes.
by the time we reached home, i was looking so flushed.
haha.
and my pong hair made even pong-er.
*chow & swei! :: what a coincidence! i bought 8 1A curry puffs for tmr - didn't expect chow to buy too. plus now we have marshmellows also! :) tskČ. swei, tmr intensive. Friday, September 26, 2003
09:34 p.m.
basically, i've been stressing out this entire week.
i know i don't show it but i've been bogged down by lotsa things that i just haven't got round to completing.
there's my circle painting that's waaaaay due...
the connexio poem that i've owed since the hols...
i dunno, just lotsa time-consuming stuff that'll take me ages to complete!
worse thing is i can't just complete them whenever, wherever.
they're e kind of stuff that needs inspiration and the right mood and a suitable location, blardy blah.
argh.
newae, we got our art exam paper yesterday.
for me, it's a tie between the stimuli: cramped and streteched
cramped is the most popular pick among all 6.
almost everyone is choosing that...
especially all those A-oners!
well, it is very straightforward...
i mean...compared to wrapped.
what's there to paint...
mummies? presents?
actually i might consider movement too...
but it's so vague.
hmmmmx...i probably sound like i'm rambling to someone who doesn't have a clue what i'm talking abt.
on a lighter note!
i'm going to town this sunday to get my art materials.
any form of shopping is a definite pick-me-up. :)
i'm gonna use the borders giftcard as a de-stress method.
but i won't waste it on a book when my dad will pay for it...
i'm gonna get a cd!
haven't bought any cds since kazaa...
but now with all that hype abt kazaa being illegal...
it's back to the shiny discs. :)
and then i can upload it into the ipod!
woohoo!
newae, i'm really perked up now cos i've reconfirmed that maths is not compulsory in the l1r5!
yes yes yes!
so there is hope for me. :)
esp now with that goldfish of a math teacher...
she and her pouty lips.
quote unquote charlene...
"i think she sucks a lemon every morning"

09:32 p.m.
i miss mrs soh.
never thought i'd say this, but i really do.
i hope she comes back asap!
we'll just hafta pray that she quickly gives birth...
and that her baby doesn't give her any trouble, so that she can forfeit part of her maternity leave.
because seriously, our relief teacher sucks to the core.
i'm not exaggerating.
she can't teach for nuts,
makes us waste time on hmwk instead of revising for e end-of-years,
give us a week to hand in hmwk,
sends pple out of class for no reason,
is utterly unreasonable,
and wears red and white horizontal stripes (where's wally?).
argh.
anyway, we went to the tyler print institution and nie during art lesson yesterday.
it was quite alright.
saw mr foo's touch wood! solo exhibition and a chinese woodprint galleria.
and i must say, mingling in a crowd of soon-to-be teachers at nie is quite intimidating.
but the bookshop there is pretty well-stocked!
especially the tid-bits...
there were sweets, chocolate, chips, keropok, biscuits... everything!
comparable to 7-11.
we bought snacks to eat on the bus. :)
i think what struck me as the most memorable was the greenhouse we saw outside nie.
yeah, of all things.
but it was so beautiful!
i want my own greenhouse next time.
:)
btw, a few photos of everything i've just mentioned have been uploaded!
outdoors - photo 22 onwards
in class - photo 41 onwards
*3p! :: hey my grandma made cheesecake! gonna bring for u all tmr.
i'll make sure u stuff urself swei! :) Sunday, September 21, 2003
06:05 p.m.
yay.
feeling so refreshed now...
and i'd better be, considering i've been napping the past 4hrs.
:)
saturday has officially become my tuition day.
in the morning, sab's mum brought us to their christian church...
where we had breakfast as usual.
the glutinous rice was really yummy...
we had 2 plates of it. :)
then, we went for math tuition from 11am to 1pm...
and back to sab's house for our first chemistry tuition lesson.
mitch was there too...
and the 3 of us were quite restless during the lesson.
haha.
anyhow, the teacher came an hour late...
pushing the ending time of 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
once tuition was over, we played daidee as obsessively as the old times...
for hours on end.
haven't been playing it since bridge was introduced. :)
sab was the big winner!
i bet it was the feng shui...
:)
anyway i went home around 10pm...
and woke up this morning for catechism.
after that, attended 10.45am mass with syl and charlotte.
there were 2 young siblings, particicularly a boy in a huffy, who came and sat over with us in our pew.
i found it quite strange...
cos their parents were sitting a pew above us.
anyhow...the girl, who was clearly a couple of years younger...
kept instructing the boy through the proper procedures of mass.
he was so distracted with showing his temper to his parents...
he didn't know what he was doing.
the poor sister.
after that, my dad picked me up and dropped me at coffee bean where i bought lunch...
and here i am, after a 4hr long nap.
i'd better get started on some form of studying now...
.....
how long will i be waiting?
until the end of time
i don't know why i'm still waiting
i can't make you mine
i'm trying to forget that
i'm addicted to you
but i want it and i need it
i'm addicted to you Friday, September 19, 2003
11:22 p.m.
like children need their mother
like rivers need the sea
like lovers need each other
like prisons need a key
like winter nights need fire
like temples need a shrine
like lovers need desire
like prohets need a sign
i need him, can't he see
i need him...to be mine.
*charm! :: thanks for lending me the forbidden city cd...i'm hooked on these lines now. :) Friday, September 19, 2003
10:59 p.m.
quick run through of the week...
tuesday was handball day!
had great fun playing that for all of 45mins during pe...
hearing the cone drop is really satisfying. :)
i think we'll be swell in that game for the sports carnival, if they do include it...
muahahaha.
art lesson was pretty slacky.
we had a glance through the sec 4s' art prelims and most of their paintings are pretty damn good.
got me a bit jittery though...
cos 3 weeks seems like a really short time to be producing works like those.
anyhow, we glazed our pottery stuff which had been fired at the kiln over the hols...
thankfully, nothing of my stuff had broken...
though there were several chips around.
wednesday was pretty amusing...
saw ms jeya sending some of the 3loyalty girls out of class for not doing elit hmwk...
and it reminded me of monday, when all but 2 girls from my class were sent out of the classroom too.
haha.
newae, lynette bought us packets of dried mango from the philippines, and they were first-rate yummy! :)
after sch, the few of us cabbed down to j8 and had some spaghetti at pasta mania...
followed by our shopping for assessment books.
quite productive...but nothing compared to thursday.
janice, charm, lynette, chow, xichun and i stayed back to study emath!
we got a little distracted with the fish pond and gossip after awhile though...
anyhow, that day's weather was really quite bad.
there was this huge thunderstorm during recess...
and the wind was blowing so violently, directing the pouring rain into the canteen.
haha...people were screaming quite a bit.
it was as if sprinklers had turned on in the canteen...
but it was pretty damn funny. :)
during chemistry, there was this sudden streak of lightning...
that mrs tan claimed had flashed right infront of her, just 2 steps ahead.
a few of us saw the streak too...
i think it was a reflection or something.
it diverted the lesson a little bit, which is always good when studying anything related to chem.
then we come to the wonderful day of, today.
did a whole lot of filing of worksheets...
it's pure madness.
every year, i make the same resolution to keep my files in check and updated...
but it never gets done.
then only before the exams when the teachers collect files, do i turn my desks and canisters upsidedown in search of more worksheets.
newae, we had our emath circle properties test today.
wonderful.
won't fail at all.
just gotta brace myself for a single-digit...
right after that, we had an oh-so-fun lesson of amath binomial expansions.
wow.
i almost went dizzy with all those looooong equations...
but i tried to keep awake, cos afterall...
today was mrs soh's last lesson with us before her pregnancy and maternity leave.
dunno if we'll miss her...
still too early to say.
after sch was a 2hr session of ld...
which breezed by pretty quickly.
after that sarah, sab, mitch and i played bridge...
can't remember what i did after that...
probably a whole lot of wasting-time nonsense...
and now i'm home again.
okae.
this has been a loooong entry.
gotta do circular measure hmwk for math tuition tmr now...
...blehx.
