promises mean everything
when you're little and the world is so big

Tuesday, January 20, 2004 11:08 p.m.

monday and tuesday!
...have been great. :)
mr foo was down with chicken pox on monday, so art class went on without attendance being taken.

i'm not gonna elaborate on the above statement.

after completing my carving, louisa and i got a lift from valen's dad down to orchard.
the 3 of us were talking about further studies in the car...
and oh no!
so many people are leaving for greener pastures over in the states and australia.

tsk...
anyway, louisa and i went on a big roundabout in town...
this is what u get for shopping without a plan.
on top of that, the weather was terrible...
perpetual heavy rain alternated with light showers...
hazardous elements!

today was slightly better...
at least the weather proved favourable. :)
charm and i went from j8 to orchard, and finally settled at this cosy little nail place tucked in the farthest corners of far east plaza for our pedicures. :)
haha...
what a brilliant waste of time.
we spent 3 hours fussing over our nails. :)

in the nail parlour, i saw the cleo magazine chief editor getting her nails done...
she looked so...
radiant!
haha...
i don't really like the magazine, but i admire editors.
it's my ideal vocation - the editorial industry. :)

if only i'd actually get to meet my favourite chief editor one day.
it'll be an intense revelation in its own right. :)

also, i've rediscovered the fact that singapore really is the small, puny, micro speck of a country that's been perennially mentioned.
i was squealing and gapping in disbelief when charm and i discovered that * **** *** ** *** **!
haha...
i realise how irritating the asterisks are, but please bear with me.
i'm just being really excitable right now. :)

anyway, i'm eagerly anticipating tomorrow...
besides the usual celebrations in school, i'm also going up to malaysia to visit relatives.
ho hum.
it's the chinese new year all over again. :)

Sunday, January 18, 2004 08:47 p.m.

how long have i not updated?
long enough.
and since i can't remember much of the previous week (albeit flashbacks of trampoline-jumping during recess, sarah's house, mrs soh, and many, many tests)...
here's my take of the weekend.

saturday is math tuition and french lesson day.
self-explanatory.

sab went to alliance française with me and tried the tomato and chicken quiche...
i personally think it's really yummy.
like chunkier chawanmushi.
it's gonna be my lunch next week. :)

we met up with sarah and mitch in the evening for dinner and a movie...
whereby i had my fantastic chicken caesar salad and gelato at buttercup coffee.
after much deliberation, we bought tickets for the long-anticipated love me if u dare film.
it is by far the most eccentric french movie i've ever watched...
apart from amelie.
in a delightful way.
frankly, they're pretty much of the same consistency...
fast-paced, ingenious, a little melancholic, and very, very outlandish.
very french.
i highly recommend it. :)
we got home pretty late...

and then...today!
met tiff for the 8.30am mass...
followed by post-con with the usual group.
brandon and benedict joined us for lunch at kovan...
and i just realised the food there is actually quite good. :)
we sat around chit-chatting for quite some time before dad came to fetch me.

after dropping kim at the mrt station, i got home then left the house again for some quick shopping with den.
she got her chinese new year outfit...
and so did i. :)
it may not be a totally new outfit i'm gonna wear for chinese new year, but at least my jeans will be spanking new. :)

i think this pair officiates my love and obsession for jeans. :)

anyway, i'm craving for my grandma's pineapple tarts right now.
i really can't wait for the cny hols...
all that visiting and ka-ching²! xP
we're going on an intense visiting escapade on sunday. :)

Monday, January 12, 2004 07:17 p.m.

wally's leaving!
and it's quite sad, really.
i just might miss her for all of 2 days. xP
but she really is quite sweet, despite all my complaining.
she gave us candy before she left...
and only to my class at that. :)

anyway, lynette delivered her seagames speech during assembly this morning...
and she did an uber-sensational job of it. :)
we were all screaming for her...
and in class, i actually tried on the medal and scrutinised the underwear mark chay drew for her.
how cool is that...
i'm gonna bring my digicam and take photos with it tomorrow. :)
haha...what lame-o shit.

alright, gotta get back to finishing up my math homework...
mrs soh is hot on our heels.
she's sent her warning: any late homework not handed in by tomorrow will result in us having to drop amath.

yeah, the same old drop-amath threat.
boy do i miss her.

You are Bloom!

What (non drugstore) Makeup Brand Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

yay yay yay i'm finally online...
loads to update for the past 3 days. :)

firstly, new photos...
outdoor - photo 88 onwards.
class - photo 80 onwards.
school - photo 38 onwards.

yupp...okae.
i was at the sec1 orientation camp from friday to saturday...
and we had a hell of a time, way beyond my expectations. :)
my dear 1wisdom, that silly class, they love bombing 1unity lah.
forever starting the bombings.
and they greet everyone they meet on the peirce hike.
haha...
i think the counsellors had just as much fun as the sec 1s did. :)
there are so many things i could say...
but it'd take me ages to type it all down so i'll just forgo the details. :)

as usual, the water games were a hit with everyone...
and the campfire was waaaaay fun.
halfway through the camp, i attended mrs tian's farewell lunch...
and she's really quite cute, in a wayward sense.
she makes the funniest comments that just tickle u. :)

anyway, the camp was really draining...
and i was dead lethargic by saturday morning.

but still...
i dragged myself home (my dad drove)...
got changed and washed up...
then attended my first french lesson. :)

the class is so funky...
there are lotsa international students.
mainly adults though...
all very cosmopolitan.
i made friends with this indonesian-chinese girl my age, and we do everything together cos we're the only 2 under 20-yrs-old.
but the rest of the students are very friendly, nonetheless.

i have good prospects for the class. :)

after the lesson, i rushed down to clarke quay to meet the rest for varissara's 17th birthday party.
everyone looked so pretty and formal all dressed up. :)
i felt so sloppy, especially with my sun-beaten face from the camp. xP

the 6 of us cabbed down to the copthorne waterfront hotel...
and wow, what a big fanfare awaited.
varissara looked so nice and immaculate, from her glittery hair right down to her polished-white heels.
like a bride! :)
the seafood buffet spread was excellent too.
after signing the guestbook, we entered the seating area...
and sat at this long table among her other 80 guests around the cafe.
we got filmed on her little party video too. :)

swei, chow, jan, charm, lynette, tiff and i played the number game after dinner...
this time with wasabi-loaded sushi.
u see how we torture ourselves...
xP

anyhow, after many many many photo-taking sessions all over the place, we left the hotel and went to take a walk along clarke quay.
on our way out, we saw an audi sportscar and a porsche boxster side-by-side.
it's too much to take man...
what a sight. xP

the scenery by the singapore river is breath-taking, and the ambience, tres cool.
i wanna go there another day to take the g-force ride. :)
remember our little pact!

anyway, i got home around 11.30pm after dropping lynette and charm at the mrt station.
it had been a long and tiring, but awesome day. :)

anyhow, i met tiff, kim, charlotte and brendan for breakfast in church this morning...
followed by a little post-con session.
we did bible-sharing and stuff...
it wasn't too bad.
one of the uncles (can't remember who) came to ask me why i wasn't at the church bbq the day before, and i told him what i told everyone - that i attended a birthday party.
but he gave me a really radical retort to that!
i can't remember exactly what he said...
but it caught me off-guard, in a rather pleasant way.
haha...
anyway my point is, that uncle's a really nice guy. :)

post-con was followed by lunch in little india...
a vegeterian meal at this apparently, very famous eatery.
it all tasted pretty bland to me though...

anyway, i had a brilliant time this past week.
2004 has been fantastic so far...
let's hope the 6 tests next week won't dampen it all for me?

Wednesday, January 7, 2004 10:05 p.m.

wally's back.

she's the worst thing that could happen in a crucial year like this.
she cannot teach for nuts...
and i'm really not stretching the truth.
i guess i sound pretty harsh but...
she's short-changing us in terms of our basic educational requirements.
xP

she cannot command a class properly.
she pronounces ez-link as ee-zack-link.
she complicates permutations and combinations.
and sartorially speaking, she's back to her red-and-white-stripe shirts.
oh mrs soh, please get well soon!

on a different note, it's been a great week in school so far...
save for the fact that we have 6 tests next week.
but then we've been keeping upbeat. :)
haha...
been taking photos in class...
i'll upload them once swei posts her digicam photos. :)

well, chinese new year's coming and i'm really looking forward to it. :)
i think i need a new haircut!
hope this year's celebrations in school will be a blast.
i want my 10th-and-last red ang pow from the school...
with the pink note from the principal and marks and spencer gold chocolate coin. :)

Monday, January 5, 2004 06:41 p.m.

my fingers are stained with multi-hued paints...
result of the printing we did during art today.
therapeutic stuff. :)

school has been a blast!
...so far.
everything's going well, save for the imminent amath retest coming up next week.
how am i supposed to pass it with my dear mrs soh missing in action?

she's been absent, and from what i hear, really ill right now.
if this continues, we might even have a permanent change of teachers...
and i don't want no wally in the classroom!
xP

today was a whole lot of meetings and talks.
did a lot of catching up today...
awesome. :)
chatted with the 7 of us ex-netballers, the 7 of us in class, the usual bunch during recess, and having art lessons all over again.
yikki-yakkiting at its best. :)

also, i just realised there's been a serious reshuffling of cca teachers-in-charge.
take mrs soh - she's not in netball anymore.
big surprise, no doubt.

to sum up yesterday, i had post-con in church...
lunch with the usual group of them at kovan...
then took a bus home.
sam and tiff went on a huge roundabout on the same bus as me. :)
we had a good laugh about it...

anyway, i've been having a serious lack of sleep these past few days.
after the morning jog with swei, i felt sticky and dreary the whole day.
u see u see...
it's taking an effect.

swei and i are planning to continue with 6 rounds each morning this entire week, then increasing it by a round following each consecutive week...
right up to 12 rounds.
yupp...
that's our 11++minute-for-the-2.4km-jog regime. :)
yes, it's always easy to say.
we'll just see how it goes.

oh yes, sports day elections have been dealt with...
and i guess everyone's pretty much happy about things.
albeit an odd lineup of committee members here and there...
everyone's talking about those 2! xP

alright...shan't say anymore.

.....

so 1,2,3, take my hand and come with me
because you look so fine
and i really wanna make you mine.

i say you look so fine
that i really wanna make you mine.

oh, 4,5,6 c'mon and get your kicks
now you dont need that money
when you look like that, do ya honey.

jet's will you be my girl?

Saturday, January 3, 2004 09:23 p.m.

my grandparents are in the house now...
watching the news.
and i'm munching on my grandmother's famous pineapple tarts. :)

mind u, these aren't in the least bit healthy or nutritious.
they're just the yummiest chinese new year goodies ever made...
created, i believe, to test my level self-restrain.
and it certainly does not help that they are made of 100% pure butter, giving them this melt-in-your-mouth texture that's just downright irresistible.
mama mia!

anyhow, i was in school at an inhumane hour this morning for the cca fair...
and it actually turned out pretty enjoyable.
sarah, mitch, sab, peifang and i were helping out at the ld booth.
i kinda regret not travelling with my sec1 class though...
but oh well.

ld put up this great skit adapted from the movie grease...
and the song that i have heard a million times since yesterday is still pounding in my head.

summer lovin' had me a blast - summer lovin', happened so fast
i met a girl crazy for me - i met a boy, cute as can be
summer days driftin' away, to uh-oh those summer nights.
tell me more, tell me more, did you get very far?
tell me more, tell me more, like, does he have a car?
he got friendly, holdin' my hand - well she got friendly, down in the sand
he was sweet, just turned eighteen - well she was good, you know what i mean
summer heat, boy and girl meet, but uh-oh those summer nights.
tell me more, tell me more, how much dough did he spend?
tell me more, tell me more, could she get me a friend?
it turned colder, that's where it ends - so i told her we'd still be friends
then we made our true love vow - wonder what she's doin' now
summer dreams ripped at the seams, but oh, those summer nights.

anyway, i've finally signed up for classes at alliance française...
with 20 and 30-yr-olds in my course.
i hope it doesn't get too awkward.
xP

Friday, January 2, 2004 08:30 p.m.

sab's just left my house!
leaving a questionably sticky keyboard and oily mouse...

anyway, she and karl were having this incredibly lame chat just now...
and i bet he's reading this.
so karl, i must say this...
i am not malay! xP

well...what can i say about the first day of school?
i reached school at the deathly hour of 6.30am...
so stupendously early.
some people wake at that time.
but my sis had to be in nanyang by 7am so...yes.
everything was pushed forward.

anyhow, the day was much more slacky than i had ever anticipated...
i was thinking of a mad-rush-to-hand-in-homework or mrs-soh-screaming-at-us kinda situation...
but no, we neither handed in our homework nor had mrs soh in the classroom.
it was all very nice and holiday-ish.

meiyan showed us albums of thailand photos she and betty lao shi took...
and i did not get chokey okae.
it just brought back pleasant memories. :)

the activities we had were pretty fun, albeit a little slow-moving.
spent most of the day with the sec 1s and they're getting along just fine.
we played ice-breaker games and stuff...
i really do like the class i'm in-charge of. :)

recess was brilliant.
we gave janice a birthday cake since her birthday was only the day before...
and it was a delectable blackforest one at that.
ate my dearly-missed yu pian mian xian (fish noodles) and grape aloe vera juice.
yummy stuff...

because we hadn't anything to do in class, the group of us sat around and had our usual long chatter.
i missed those yakky-yakkiting sessions! :)
we've planned what to do about some parts of the classroom...
and how we'd like a cosy corner in the balcony.
i hope it comes along well. :)

right after school dismissal was a 2-hour-long ld session whereby mitch, sab, sarah and i coloured posters.
i personally think our oil-pastel-coloured-masterpiece is very...professional.
save for a little bad colour-coordination and out-of-the-line colouring here and there, it's pretty damn good.
haha...
i'm intending to take a photo of it during the cca fair tomorrow. :)

after ld, i had my yummy combo of koko krunch + HL milk.
how i missed that snack.
it's the arty-farty-tuesday meal i take before art lessons!
sarah, sab and mitch had their orange bowl kway teow...
it's first on my menu tomorrow. :)

okae, i'm feeling really quite tired right now...
and a little sticky.
i can't believe we have to be in school at 7am tomorrow!
that's more demanding than a normal schoolday.
darn.
hope everyone had a fantabulous first day of school though! :)

Thursday, January 1, 2004 10:38 p.m.

how i spent my new year's eve in 5 steps:

1) met in town, saw lotsa people and caught up with them...
had dinner (and took lotsa photos!) at lips...
kim loves taking photos man! :)
watched under the tuscan sun with kim, tiff, lari, charlotte, cordelia, michael, joshua, jeremiah and joe.
the movie wasn't too bad...
very quaint!
and very pretty scenery. :)

2) they played in the arcade for awhile...
so lari, charlotte and i stood around watching them.
kim's pretty good at daytona. :)

3) cabbed down to church for the new year countdown mass.
the phonelines jammed around midnight...
how typical.
had the countdown...
3...2...1...amen!
what a place to celebrate the new year. :)

4) had supper with the food provided by the church...
and hung around wishing people a happy new year.
the place was pretty packed...
brilliant!

5) walked around with kim, tiff, sam, and her 3 friends...
before dad came to fetch me.
slept at 4am...dead beat.

anyhow, i have drawn up a list of new year resolutions.
most of them are repetitions from last year's, but u must understand that i am not a very motivated person.

1) i'm hoping that there aren't any resident bats in my new sec4 classroom...
but if i do receive droplets of bat poo on my desk as in sec3, i will clear them up and not paste scotchtape over the splotches as an exhibition.

2) i will dilligently take down and put up mrs soh's math answer sheets on the board...
and not wait for her to scream or threaten me.

3) since swei and i will be resuming our 1-3-5 morning jogs, i'm placing my hopes on hitting 42kg! xP

4) no more skipping biology tuition...
denise, are u reading this?

5) attend church with more serious undertones...
and make time to read the bible. :)

wow...okae.
i've said it, now let's hope i do it!
oh, one more thing...
i have to get more organised.
especially with all the notes we'll be getting for the o's.

photos will be uploaded soon...
till then, have a great 2004 everyone. :)

*3p! :: miss u all loads!
didn't get to spend time with u all on spring cleaning day...sec1 duty lah. let's hope we have a fantastic year and great times ahead. :)

Tuesday, December 30, 2003 10:10 p.m.

flashback tuesday.

dad got caught in the terrible jam that is parents-sending-their-kids-late-to-school at 8am this morning.
i was having a horrendous time juggling my slingbag, 2 paperbags, and a wooden hanger on which my investiture suit hung.
there was photo taking for prefects and monitors, and we were told to bring our full investiture suit.
of course, anything worn below the waist was deemed unnecessary, since our bottom halves do not appear in the photos.
then why were we told to bring stockings and court shoes?
xP

left my barang in our new classroom (hey it's on the same level as the canteen!) and dropped off ade and tiff's birthday present outside their new classroom...
and yay!
it's just across mine!
going for science classes will be so much easier. :)

anyway, i met up, for the first time, with the sec1 class i'm in-charge of along with sheena, rachel, nuanting and esther.
the class is pretty warmed up i guess...
at least more so than my sec1 class was on the 1st day.
ms lee is the cutest form teacher ever...
she's so funny. :)

oh yes, announcement of the day: mrs tian is leaving eldds.
i think mrs gurung is going to be such a delightful addition to the cca...
the thailand trip has done wonders to my insight as far as teachers are concerned. :)

during the break, swei, that bandit sister of mine...
made me cut the queue of those poor sec1 students.
haha...
but we were starving and exhausted so...
we're sorry, forgive us. :)

after the looooong day in school, swei dropped her things off at my place and left for town.
since my dad had just come back from the language centre with davina for her registration and buying of her 3rd lang stuff...
he drove me down to alliance française to register for my french classes.
but the place was closed!
wasted trip...

anyhow, dad dropped me off at the novena mrt station, and i took a train down to meet sab and mitch for lunch.
the pizza taglio place at wisma is superb!
yummy stuff...

anyway, town was thronging with people today.
the train was like a long can of sardines...
packed to the brim.
met quite a few people here and there...
must be the end-of-year-better-shop-before-school-starts season.

oh shut up shut up.
let's not talk about next year.
xP

Sunday, December 28, 2003 11:07 p.m.

aweary, banal, beat, blear, blear-eyed, bleary, bleary-eyed, bored, burned-out, burnt-out, bushed, careworn, commonplace, dead, drawn, drooping, exhausted, fagged, fatigued, flagging, footsore, hackneyed, haggard, jaded, played out, raddled, ragged, shopworn, spent, stock, threadbare, timeworn, tired, travel-worn, trite, unoriginal, unrefreshed, unrested, washed-out, wearied, weary, well-worn, whacked, world-weary, worn, worn-out, worn out.
courtesy of thesaurus.com

basically, that's how these past 2 days have left me...
feeling totally shagged.

i've been walking a whole lot...
and my toes are practically shrivelled up like tiny little prunes and sprouting callouses as productively as...

a garden grows weeds.

and u would think with this much walking (aka exercise), i might actually start shedding some weight...
but no...
i'm eating as much, or quite possibly more, than i actually burn while walking.

but i'm not complaining, because it's all been fun. :)

yesterday, sab and i travelled great distances around toa payoh and orchard road.
by the end of the day, i was literally dragging my feet home.
today was slightly better...
after mass, we went out as a family and shopped quite a bit.

stocking up for the new year...
we went to borders and kinokuniya for books...
that cd shop for soundtracks...
and various places for different essentials.

speaking of essentials, i think clorets is making tons of money.
see this morning, sab offered me her clorets sweet...
after mass, brandon gave me his clorets gum...
this evening, i replenished my stock of clorets optimints with 3 new refills.
u see u see...
clorets is earning heaps just by making our breath fresh!

well, just thought i'd share. :)

after shopping, we visited my aunt at her home near serene centre...
then dad took us for a spin around singapore in the new car.
it feels so strange...
the seats don't fit as comfortably...
and there's no mirror in the pull-down-sunshade in the front of the car.
it's also awfully quiet in there...
void of any engine or traffic noises.
but i'm so glad it's black and not some unusual hue as in our previous cars. :)

okae, i'm feeling really dizzy now...
think i need to catch some zZzzZzs.
i'm not even typing coherently today...
and school's starting in 3 days time and there's homework and tests in the 1st week and...
oh shut up shut up.
let's not talk about next year.

Friday, December 26, 2003 02:18 a.m.

fall on your knees, oh hear the angel voices
oh night divine, oh night when Christ was born
oh night divine, oh night, oh night divine.

this slow-yet-impactful refrain has been in my head ever since we sang it 24 hours ago during midnight mass.
in case my point hasn't yet been made clear, i have been silently singing/screaming this stanza in my head enough times for one to go insane.
yes, i do love it...
but too much of a good thing isn't...
and it's bugging me like crazy! xP

on an entirely different note, what a brilliant 2 days it's been. :)
before i slobber u with talk of my doings this christmassy couple of days, i want to mention the birthday dinner we had for my grandmother on the 23rd.
we had a fantastic dinner, and an equally fantastic bill following it.
but it was well worth it, cos the dishes were exquisite and wonderfully prepared.
what i want to mention is, my grandmother got a handphone as one of her presents...
and it's so damn funky.
it looks more groovy than my own phone...
and since i'm already uber-amused with maids who can sms, or 10-yr-olds owning handphones...
my grandmother utilizing a handphone is tres chic to me! :)

but i think it's gonna be more of an sos helpline...
something my grandmother will turn to only in times of emergency.
i must teach her to sms one day...

anyway!
wow...christmas has finally come.
and gone.
but anyhow, it's been a good 2 days spent. :)

gosh, town was packed on christmas eve.
everyone was down for the countdown...
all sorts of people!
it's really cool to see people so into the festivities...
albeit those who brought their negativity with them...
namely the many inconsiderate people all over the place.

littering the streets of singapore with rubbish does not amuse me.

haha...i sound like a martinet.
anyway, i met sab, mitch, tanny, sarah, pamela, trish and her friends for lunch in cineleisure.
we went to yoshinoya...
it's been so long since i last ate my salmon bowl. :)

after that we took neocards at heeren...
then most of them had to go.
so sab, tanny and i went to the buttercup coffee place for tea and dinner!

yummy...
i had my gelato and caesar salad.
then we played cards and sat around chatting...
and i think the owner of that cafe is really nice.
very amiable...
but no one can beat my cream cafe owner in the amusement factor. :)
he rocks.

at about 10.30pm, i quickly made my way down to church...
and met up with the usual few for the ever-quaint christmas midnight mass.
what a heart-warming scene...
everyone was dressed up to the nines. :)
it looked a little like some prom going on. :)

at the stroke of 12, predictably, all phonelines jammed.
i dunno how i managed to receive those christmas smses or calls...
because i could hardly get through the traffic myself.
so i waited till 1am before sending out messages. :)
after mass, we stayed behind for a little photo-taking...
and once again, poor kim got majorly embarrassed. :)
my dad fetched me from church around 2am, whereby i reached home and slept till...

christmas day!
ahhh...my favourite day of the year. :)
it was all very pleasant, with the usual family gathering at someone's place for lunch.
the feast was splendid, as always.
i ate (like a pig) and drank the yummy white-wine-concocted cocktail by the bucketfuls.

the atmosphere wasn't as vibrant as the previous year because many of our relatives weren't in the country this time...
but we had fun nonetheless. :)

my cousins gabrielle and daniel have a dramatic love-hate-relationship...
comparable to the korean serials on television.
their temperaments change like the singapore weather...
but it's really amusing to watch. :)
haha...they're just so adorable.

also, my gradmother helped me predict my future by analysing the positions of my moles.
from my face, to body, to the arms and legs, she's pretty much covered my entire life story.
but it's very amusing, and a huge ego-booster.
haha...
she also told us ghost stories...
not very apt for christmas day, but interesting nonetheless.

after the exchanging of presents, we all went down to st ignatius for the 6pm mass.
and wow...their new building is beautiful.
the style and concept is pretty much the same as ihm...
but their holy water fountain is definitely the bomb!
they should have constructed one at our church...

anyway, the choir we got for that mass was one of the better ones, according to my grandmother's friend there...
and there is no doubt about it.
my uncle was saying it seemed a little like an african church...
cos they were swaying and waving their hands and stuff...
and the lead male singer had that lovely gruff voice distinctive of the blacks.
awesome.
if only the congregation actually sang along...
the church was pretty quiet.

after mass, my grandmother met an old-friend-and-former-neighbour...
so our families stood around chatting for a good hour.
we the kids just loitered around eavesdropping...
trying to catch the conversation smattered with all sorts of malay phrases.
they're all peranakans i think...
also, i found out that 2 dogs are named after my mum and aunt. :)
imagine...rennie and gwinnie.
what names for a dog.

anyhow!
we had a delectable dinner of curry chicken and rice back in the house...
followed by traditional english pudding, hazelnut cake, strawberries and cream, earl grey tea and red wine.
just watch me grow fat.

i sat at the table with the adults to listen to them chatting...
while munching on the many, many fruits infront of me.
i stained my mouth red with raspberries, and the sweetness of the grapes and other fruits stung my tongue.

anyhow, they talked quite a bit about universities in england...
showering me with all kinds of advice.
and wow...england sure sounds heavenly.
i hope things turn out fine for me over there next time.

soon, we began packing up to leave...
and when i say packing, it's literal.
tupperwares and plastic containers were filled with leftovers for everyone to take home...
the whole stack of dvds i picked out to borrow were kept safely in our paper bags for my viewing pleasure at home... and the junk was seperated from the presents, before we carried our goods home.

it's been a bountiful christmas. :)
and i'm no longer cash-strapped either!
but well, i'm dead beat...
and my eyebags are soon becoming a permanent fixture on my face.
so i shall round this up with new photos. :)
i'm sorry there aren't many, because i was using the card with only 25mb for the past 2 days...
updates are found in the top right! :)

also, i wanna thank everyone for the wonderful christmas joy u've all brought.
be it in whichever way, big or small, they're very much appreciated. :)
thanks!
and a very happy boxing day to u.

long entry, coming right up! :)

our annual christmas party (for the 3rd year running) was a blast!
...albeit the many, many revolting eyebags we cultivated over this holiday period.
they showed up so prominently in all our neocards...
i simply must begin my 10pm-sleeping regime. :)

the 6 of us (sab, mitch, sarah, tanny, trish and me) slept over at mitch's place for a night of pure, christmassy fun. :)
we had lavishly heavy meals (note to self: must commence 1200-calorie-a-day-diet regime too)...
sat below the christmas tree (they ditched my plan to ring around it singing carols lah)...
exchanged gifts (i have finally got my much-craved-for nutcracker soldier!!!)...
took lotsa photos (on the streets...in neocard machines...on the bed...anywhere, basically)...
ate yummy ichiban bubblegum balls (sarah got them from hongkong)...
and a lot of other nonsensical stuff girls do when they get together. :)

on the second day, we ate the supposedly-super-yummy chicken rice at fareast plaza...
then headed down to east coast park (only to get bitten by a whole slew of seriously-deprived mosquitoes).
there, we rollerbladed and cycled...
and wow, the weather was absolutely perfect.
no sun or rain...
just a pleasant, blissful breeze. :)

but stuff kept flying into my eyes.

anyway, i think we really had a smashing time together! :)
must continue making the 21st of december a permanently-booked day on all our calendars. :)
i love sab, mitch, sarah, tanny and trish oodles! :)

today was the sec1 orientation, so i drearily (it was 7am) went down to school for counsellor duty.
omg, i got terribly bored...
and was nodding off at every chance i got.
that's what i get for 3hrs of sleep. xP

on top of that, my class (1wisdom!) wasn't there for orientation...
they had been settled in on the previous day.
so without any particular responsibility...
or function (except maybe to sort report books)...
swei and i walked around helping wherever we were needed.

we were particularly handy as restroom-usherers...
with almost every parent approaching us asking for the toilet.

anyway, swei and i are now the bandit sisters!
haha...so lame.
i'd better not eleborate. xP

after a few hours of duty, we decided to hit town and do some window shopping.
we were on our feet for 6hrs straight, walking from fareast plaza down to every shopping mall right up to wheelock place.

gosh, there were sales everywhere!
i bought a calvein klein top going for 50% off...
and i'm gonna get this pair of dkny dusty pink pants at a 40% discount.
the original price was $299!
also, i wanna get the ralph lauren ladies skinny polo tee...
tomorrow, hopefully?

anyhow, swei and i met tanny and charm in nydc where we had an enormous lunch meal.
but yummy, it was. :)
after a few rounds of bridge swei left for home, so charm and i went window shopping a little.
after scouring a few shops with tanny in search of her sister's christmas present, i left for home.

slept the whole bus journey...
i was dead beat.
whew.
today's entry doesn't seem very coherent to me...

anyhow, here's a very merry christmas eve to everyone!
happy anticipating. :)

"u don't u won't
- no way i say -
u didn't u doesn't
u isn't u wasn't
u wouldn't u couldn't
u oughtn't u shouldn't
love nobody but ME!"
:)
