01:11 a.m.
i have not been here in a long while because i am trying to set up a new template from scratch (this bikini girl one is driving me crazy as i drown in boredom over staring at her for the past gazillion years) and guess what, i have just lost the entire html code that i have taken hours, i repeat, hours, to create!
oh, the sorrow and the pain.
i am giving up for today. Monday, August 2, 2004
09:43 p.m.
life without exercise is especially dangerous for people like yours truly, who eats about as much as a pig and never lifts a finger except maybe to push food into my mouth.
so you see, i'm living life on the edge.
take today as an example.
chow, jan, charm, lyn and i met up at 6.30am in the thomson prata shop for a guilt fest of prata, teh tarik and milo dinosaurs before the exam mass at christ the king (which was quite strange for me by the way, because mrs soh hugged each and every one of us).
anyhow, we had a huge communication breakdown with the indian shopkeepers...
and for an awkward 2 minutes or so, they just stood around our table smiling at us for no particular reason.
and we didn't know what they were saying.
but they're very nice guys, except on busy days (like the sunday morning i went down) when my orders are practically ignored.
but then again they serve yummy food and have nice shopkeepers, so there.
and i really want a new layout, despite the fact that i'm html-illiterate and the guestbook's currently not cooperating.
i'll settle it in december then.
oh shucks the indian peugeot ad is showing on tv...
friends time! Saturday, July 31, 2004
11:50 p.m.
(disclaimer: beware of cheesy entry)
yesterday was a day of many goodbyes.
cliched, but farewells really suck.
i cried my eyes out yesterday after recess so much so they were dry by the time we had our ld farewell in the afternoon.
it all began after we started singing the red bridge song "shen ni ge la ren san qian...da jia xiang qing xiang ai..."
you know, the one we've stopped singing ever since ms choo took over as the principal.
anyhoo, i'm so glad we share everything we share and i really think i have the greatest bestfriends in the world.
because no matter where each of us go, we're always together at heart!
(insert huge, toothy grin)
after school, us ld seniors attended the farewell with sparkling juice (i like!), entertaining skits, lame-o videoclips, and pretty tiaras and wands.
i never really thought about how my farewell would be like (much less having it with ld) but i really did enjoy it.
so yay!
sarah, sab, mitch and i cabbed down to town where we met trish and tanny for dinner and yum-yum-yummy dessert at the borders bistro.
they have a fantastic spicy chicken pizza dish which i totally recommend...
but the service sucked, save for the nice trainee waitress who brought us crayons upon request.
they provide mahjong paper on the tables for our drawing pleasure, so we went all out and played pictionary in teams of 3.
it was damn fun...
but i believe we wasted a lot of paper.
it's worth it though, because i made a personal discovery:
i am absolutely not ambidextrous.
seriously.
i couldn't draw with my left hand at all.
it literally looked like a 3 year-old's scribble...
but that didn't stop me from doing an extremely sketchy drawing of sarah with a sweet little note to boot.
i even sealed it "to sarah with love"!
muahahahaha...
i got home just before midnight, slept, and got up for math tuition with sab this morning.
we hadn't been attending tuition for a whole month because of oral exams/listening comprehensions all held on saturday mornings, so it was nice being able to see ms choo again.
after tuition, we had lunch and headed down to sab's place, where i took a long lazy nap on the couch (i swear i sleep anywhere).
in the evening, sab, sarah, mitch, tanny and i attended this acjc comedy play in-house...
which wasn't too bad i guess.
i loved the skit that had all the lines rhyming...
except that they had it acted out twice, once by students and once by the teachers, which i found entirely unnecessary because the jokes weren't as funny the second time.
but it was fine overall.
and i saw the sebastian from last year's twelfth night play.
haha.
after the play, we took a bus down to holland village for supper at thaiexpress.
we shared scary tales of murder on the way, which got everyone a little jittery because the stories were dark and really quite morbid.
they're intelligent tales with twisted plot lines.
anyway, my dad came down to fetch us after the supper and dropped a few of them home.
strange, i don't know why i'm being so narrative today.
and i missed sex and the city on hbo yesterday.
argh...
i've been wanting to catch it since forever, but i always forget.
so i'm hoping that i might come across this message to myself next week:
sex and the city at 10pm/10.30pm friday on hbo.
alrighty, i'm off to bathe. Thursday, July 29, 2004
10:17 p.m.
so st nicks won double champs!
a little laggy, but still.
the rain was a real damper though.
anyhoo, charm and i are addicted to the mos burger frozen strawberries.
they're yummy, no?
lunch on tuesday saw lynette, jan, chow and the both of us working our way through restaurants in a consecutive row.
from yoshinoya to delifrance to mos burger.
we're such pigs.
anyhow, the only thing i've been looking forward to today is about to start in 45mins.
"we've been on the run...
driving in the sun..."
and i'm really worried about my sleeping habits.
i can nap for 4hrs straight nowadays, notwithstanding the occasional power naps i take in school when mrs soh is teaching additional maths.
i try to sleep sitting on the dining chair, head on the dining table (read: uncomfortable, cold and stiff) so as to give myself uneasy sleep, but it's not working, because apparently, i still sleep like a log.
ho hum.
school was such a chore this morning...
we literally attended school for tests.
had australian maths, followed by emath mock exam, then our english testimonial and the humanities common test.
no lessons at all.
and half of st nicks wasn't even in school because of the rain/fatigue/laziness from the previous day.
oh weldy well, i shall have to go study my soggy biology book now (it got drenched yesterday).
i'm off! Monday, July 26, 2004
07:50 p.m.
okae i've cheered up a great deal in the past hour or so.
by reading.
reading amusing literature...
such as catcher in the rye by j.d. salinger, which may not seem like something you would usually read for amusement but actually is pretty laugh-our-loud-funny when you think about it.
i mean, it actually is very much like an olden-day blog written by an angsty teenager, who is, wahey, would you look at that, 16 years-old too. :D
and on the use of smileys, i have henceforth decided against the inclusion of them emoticons on my webpage.
i shall convert to adding thing like (insert goofy grin) or (insert coy smile) which, if you think about it, conveys very much more meaning than a :) or :(
of course, you must understand that i am now a little incoherent because i very much feel like typing.
typing is therapeutic.
and highly entertaining.
then again, many things amuse me, namely the ne game that rocked my socks off with its very amusing game concept.
the teachers claim we have to pass it in order to graduate...
but it's not like anyone could fail, right?
in fact, i loved the game so much, i played it a grand total of 2 times, much to the amusement of chow and peixuan, who very candidly decided to join in with me by playing thrice and twice respectively.
very staunch singaporean citizens, we are.
anyhoo, i must mention the incredibly mortifying cheering session during assembly this morning.
i do believe we completely redefined the meaning of utter embarrassment by ridiculing ourselves in the form of screaming school cheers we barely knew the words/rythms/tunes of.
ho hum.
also, mrs tan aka. the so-very-nice-chemistry-teacher-of-whom-we-very-terribly-aggravate-by-talking-in-her-class treated all 3 of her pure chem classes to ice cream cones in celebration of us having completed our entire chemistry syllabus.
nice lady, she.
oh weldy-well, i shall have to scoot now.
i do hope someone moderates the prelim english oral grades mrs sng gave.
(insert frowning-and-also-pleadingly-big-glassy-eyed-look)
later! Monday, July 26, 2004
06:57 p.m.
Dear Readers,
I trust you are aware that Fr. Barthoulot passed away on 25/7/2004.
Please be informed that there will be nightly mass and prayers at 8pm at St. Joseph's Church, Victoria Street. Funeral Mass on Thursday, 29/7/2004 at 2.30 pm at St. Joseph's Church, followed by cortege to Mandai Crematorium Hall 2, for cremation at 4.30 pm.
Rgds,
Celine
father barthoulot, the priest who married my parents, baptised me, heard my 1st confession, handed me my 1st holy communion, and probably many other things...
saddened, i am.
i'll always remember the letter my grandad wrote to the church to appeal for father bart. to stay at our parish.
he was posted to another church some time 2 years back...
and now we'll never see him again.
as if today hadn't already been the bad day it was in more ways than one.

06:52 p.m.
in all seriousness, yesterday had the coldest and most blustery saturday morning (that's so winnie-the-pooh!) since a really long time ago.
as you know, i can't take the cold.
i mean, dump me in a room with the air-con at 16 degrees and you can potentially kill me.
i actually enjoy jogging (or wading) through the humidity that is singapore at 6.30am in the morning.
i'm not kidding when i say i. can't. take. the. cold.
anyhoo, as if to top off the bad start of my day with much relish, us sec 4s had our english prelim oral.
i was freezing my butt off in the hall because it kept raining and the fans were in full blast.
the urge to switch those cruel fans off was exceedingly tempting, but i decided against it because reaching up to switch off fan switches totally cramps my style.
or maybe it was because i couldn't find the switches.
but still, they irritated me.
plus, we had to sit on cold, hard plastic chairs...
and the teachers only allowed us to use the one-cubicle toilet behind the stage.
of course, this meant we had to queue for the toilet.
first time i've ever queued for a toilet in st nicks.
we have too many of them toilets...
and not enough toilet paper.
anyhow, i think the oral went quite alright.
except for the tricky pronunciation of 'salivating', of which i still don't know which of the 2 possibilities is correct.
after dismissal, chow, jan, stacy and i went for breakfast (that's how early the school made us come) at macdonald's.
zoomed home to change, then attended french class in the afternoon.
i think the café troquet at alliance française is ripping me off week after week, and i am continually falling for it.
their quiches and everything else are priced sky-high.
but no fear, because cindy and i intend to join the class in boycotting the café (for their bad service)...
and hence, we are going to make the long trudge to the nearby 7-11 from next week onwards.
of course, this also means i shall have to wear more practical shoes.
because the shoes i had on yesterday were killers.
i met charm (who was in equally pain-inducing shoes) and candice (who thankfully supported us 2 tottering ladies) at far east plaza...
where we bumped into annaloo.
hadn't seen her in a long while.
we went to find tanny, freda and her cousin...
afterwhich we headed down to leftfoot. :D
next, we took a bus down to sji for the kindred spirits concert.
it was alright i guess...
i really liked the daniel guy who sang like josh groban.
haha.
he hit the notes man!
and i also liked the song selection...
there was maksim, oasis, counting crows, stevie wonder, the eagles, chopin...
and i can't remember any others.
but yeah, great song selection.
and it was nice saying hi to people i hadn't seen in years.
anyway, we headed down to the thomson prata place after the concert for supper with chow and jan.
i'll really miss those after-midnight prata+bridge gatherings. :(
this morning's weather was so different from yesterday's.
i tanned a shade. :)
anyhoo, kim, brandon, ben and i tended this ball game stall at the ihm food&fun fair...
and it was a blast!
i really enjoyed entertaining those kids.
especially these two 9 year-old boys who kept hogging the game booth and asking whether anyone else had completed the game course like they did (only 5 did altogether).
they were so cute.
then there was this 2 year-old who somehow got a kick from standing infront of the huge hole in the plank of wood and throwing tennis balls into it.
but he was too cute too.
and when i went to the restroom to wash my hands, 3 of the kids who were at our stall earlier on pointed me out to their mum as the 'pick-the-ball jie jie'.
urm, thanks, funky name.
although come to think of it, all i ate at the fair was kueh pie tee and chin chow.
quite sad, considering i saw people with other very very yummy food.
hmph.
and trisha&friends donated all their coupons to our stall, yes yes yes!
felt like hugging those kind dudettes, i did.
okae i really had fun lah.
although i wish father brian had been dunked too...
that'd been awesome. :D
alrighty then, i'm off to read the papers.
and watch x-men 2. :) Thursday, July 22, 2004
08:17 p.m.

i figure if i start saving approximately 150 buckaroos a day, beginning from now...
i might be able to afford my dream car by the time i turn 18.
haha.
so i'll be handed the keys of my beetle convertible along with my driver's liscence, no?
sounds like a plan. Thursday, July 22, 2004
05:41 p.m.
(enter charmaine, trying to take a photo of janice and karina with her camera phone)
charm: hurry i wanna take photo!
jan and karina: eeee...don't want.
charm (holding her handphone up and looking at the screen): i'm gonna take it! somebody's leg is blocking me!
(everyone stares at charm as she glares crossly at the handphone screen)
charm: oops, it's my finger blocking.
jan, chow and karina (cue heads thrown back and mouths wide open): bwahahahahahahahahaha...
okae i'm so bad at scriptwriting.
haha.
anyhow, the 4 of us played a few rounds of bridge this afternoon for like, the first time in...
years.
or at least it felt like it.
bridge rules, no?
and i'm so stressed.
i don't show it but i am.
especially about art.
but i have the best stress-buster available to mankind (prozac doesn't even come close).
may i present, seth cohen scripts! :D
Seth: Holy awkward.
Anna: I kissed you!
Seth: I know.
Summer: I kissed you too!
Seth: So true.
Kirsten: I always knew you were a late bloomer, sweetie.
from last week's episode. :)
Ryan: Maybe you've got the SUMMER flu.
Seth: Yeah, it's November, but it's possible.
Ryan: Maybe you need some ANNA-biotics.
Ryan: I was just over there. They seemed really happy.
Seth: Yeah? And by happy, do you mean...gay?
Seth: H-hi Summer...and Anna...hanging out together. Wow. Wow, that's...awkward.
Anna: Not really.
Seth: I meant for me.
Seth: I can't believe they were together!
Marissa: Stranger things have happened.
Seth: These are two people who hate each other! Brought together by their even greater hatred of me! It's like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader teaming up to destroy the Emperor!
Seth: I owe you both an enormous apology. Nothing in my life to date prepared me for what happened on Thanksgiving. I’m not trying to make excuses for what I’m doing, but I’ve got this in my defence: you can't really blame me for wanting the company of either of you two. And I know that I hurt your feelings and I feel bad about that, I do. But please believe me when I say that it wasn't intentional, okay? 'Cause I'd never do anything to ruin our friendship?or?ships. I know that I have no right to ask, but I hope that someday you can both forgive me.
tralala.
doesn't that just make u melt like a popsicle stick in the middle of the sahara?
(u see how cheesy i sound. that's why i'd never make it as an oc-worthy scriptwriter.) Monday, July 19, 2004
01:36 a.m.
ahhh tricia just msged from indonesia and she's on a last-minute shopping spree in one of their poshest malls!
how i'd love to be in her shoes.
singapore sans sale = expensive expensive Sunday, July 18, 2004
11:37 p.m.
where do i start!
this ld production has been the unofficial goal in my life the past few weeks (when studying and my art project should have been it) and we've all been slogging and working so hard on it that with its final showing yesterday i suddenly feel that much empty knowing very well that after 4 years of complaining about staying back for ccas and having it take away my going-out time, i might just actually miss staying back in school to take attendance for something that i did not particularly enjoy in the past but definitely do so now.
emo, emo.
moving along.
what a nice way to end my secondary school cca life, yes.
although i haven't been in ld long, but really, it's been a blast.
okae so thursday was a wonderful day spent rehearsing for the production.
but before i get to that, i must mention the surprise we gave tanny!
sarah, sab, mitch and i cabbed down to her place at 6 in the morning to wake the girl up for school.
come to think of it, all the birthday songs we sing nowadays either go unglamly-out-of-tune or unglamly-end-halfway.
for this time, it was the latter.
but i'm sure tanny appreciates our efforts, no?
we even served her a tupperware of cereal. :D
so the 4 of us cabbed down to school, and for the first time ever, i was late late late!
haha...unintentionally.
now i know how it feels like to rush to school.
see sab, i understand u.
well after taking attendance with our form classes, all ld girls met at the forum afterwhich 2 mighty buses fetched us off to jubilee hall.
talk about poshy posh.
that pretty much sums up raffles hotel.
i remember on the friday when sarah and i arrived there by ourselves, the driver dropped us off at the main entrance whereby 3 guys greeted us; 1 to open the door, 1 a concierge (except we didn't have any louis vuitton luggage trunk for him to carry), and 1 a doorman who bowed/gestured/led our way to the door of the hotel with much subservience (sorry, but no tip).
and then there were the many rules the jubilee hall manager gave us, one of which being "no opening of doors with ur feet".
not a very friendly lady, that one.
anyhoo, jubilee hall is this quaint little theatre with charming woodwork and funky spinning fans that i absolutely adore.
i loved the elevators too.
actually, everything in raffles hotel is ancient-ish (in the nicest way possible).
and it's got that fabulous old-world charm thing going on.
plus, they have great shops at the arcade that are way over our budgets but contain nice things to look at anyway.
sarah and i spotted this beautiful white leather satchel from the store window of anteprima going at a discount!
but of course, still 400 over buckaroos.
oh yes, and when we weren't rehearsing...
trisha, sarah and i officially make up the slacker club (woot woot!).
from the very beginning of time, when the play was but wisps of grey smoke in the head of roger and all the material we had were but printed history sheets from the internet, we'd been slacking.
sarah and i were "unclassified", since the dance instructor had yet to come to teach us, so we either slept in the library (haha) or helped out with the props. :)
but hey, all that painting was fun.
fast-forwarding.
i think one of the highlights (and thrills) we got during those 3 production days of thursday, friday and saturday was sneaking out to raffles city/suntec/citylink for lunch.
muahahahaha.
and how can i forget the frozen yoghurt we religiously bought to solace our hunger pangs (or maybe just to justify my ravenous cravings).
we made sab, mitch and trisha run out to get yoghurt with orders for them "not to melt at all".
not easy, seeing how i ended up slurping mine.
and our gai gai escapades at 10 in the morning when all the shops were still closed.
come think of it, i spent about $20 on yoghurt alone in the span of those 3 days.
but it was yummy nonetheless.
and collecting chicken rice money is quite fun i realise.
it feels good hawking 44 styrofoam boxes. :D
now to speak of the play itself.
great costumes, innovative sets, incredibly witty script...
and much laughter in the comedy scenes.
from all the reviews i've heard and read (a particularly nice one from brendan, yes), that's pretty much it.
and i agree that all the actresses did great.
particularly claire, who totally made my year with the best ever line possible in theatrical history (to me lah).
"When i caught Seth Cohen cheating with that Karina woman in accounts...!"
yay!
i was like hanging by the curtains, aflutter at the impending words of claire.
trisha got the 1st night, and i got the 2nd.
it makes us extremely delirious to hear claire expound such a notional verity (an oxymoron, but still) before large crowds.
i was reduced into a squealing piece of gibberishy-slish-slosh at that very utterance of my name in the same sentence as seth cohen.
haha.
i exaggerate much.
okae, big thanks to swei, jan, charm and tanny for the pink lilies.
the buds on both stalks actually blossomed!
u won't believe how surprised i was, greeted with blooming lilies in the morning.
my mum put them in vases and now they're pretty pretty.
and for the roses and support of everyone else, it's all very much appreciated.
i was quite high yesterday (albeit dead tired too, having reached home way past midnight).
but it was fun, huh.
met katherine and christine during the play, which was pleasant but very surprising nonetheless.
i hadn't seen them in such awhile.
now i really can't wait to develop the many, many photos we took throughout the course of those 3 days. :)
alrighty, i think i should stop just about now.
speaking of theatre, though, i went down to my aunt's place after church today and we actually spent hours in front of the television watching musicals by andrew lloyd webber.
imagine a whole family watching musicals together.
that's just slightly better than sitting in the roof garden of my aunt's penthouse (her family just moved in), peering down at the neighbourhood of the joo chiat family saga.
if only that episode had happened more recently, i could film the joo chiat families up to their antics by installing a permanent camera up there in the roof garden and possibly selling the videos to a news agency for some extra pocket money.
because i'm financially unstable again (i went shopping today!).
and i really do hope my family moves house soon.
we're in talks to move out once i graduate, and since we won't have anything to do in ang mo kio anymore, my parents are contemplating holland village (the land of gelato (i'm gonna be a regular customer, i promise), good food, and great shopping!)
hopefully it happens.
then i can visit my lover boy, the gorgeous japanese spitz puppy, every single day. :D
although by that time, it'll probably be a full-grown dog.
i'm actually hoping the shop owners will sense my devotion as i become a daily browser, and lift the hefty 1888 buckaroo price tag off the dog for me.
well, we'll see.
oh, and u know, i see my dance outfits on top of the laundry basket now.
and i think i'm really gonna miss them.
especially the polka-dotted green dress.
nostalgia sets in quite early for me. Sunday, July 18, 2004
01:08 a.m.
i'd love to write about the performance now, but i'm dead beat.
here's an email from my french teacher sent this morning though. :)
Bonjour Karina,
Tu danses toi aussi? Je ne savais pas. (past continuous will be seen soon). Je vois que tu adores danser, c'est super :) Tu vas faire une démonstration cet après-midi?
On se voit tout à l'heure,
Karen
basically, she's trying to get me to dance for the class.
she's always asking the other adults to give dance demonstrations, because many of the students in my class take salsa lessons together.
and she wants to be amused.
she's such a cute lady, really. :)
anyway, i got my exam paper back today and i did quite badly.
77 out of a 100 marks.
but oh well, hope i do better for the next paper!
alrighty then, i shall update again tomorrow.
particularly of the performance. :D
in the meantime, i'll leave those who chose to absent themselves from the production to wallow in self-remorse.
good day then. :) Friday, July 16, 2004
10:28 p.m.
all ld girls haven't been going to school since thursday because of the ld production, and what fun we've been having! :D
i won't elaborate until it's over, so maybe i'll mention it again tomorrow. :)
anyhow, i just got back from the scgs dance concert held in their school auditorium.
my mum was helping backstage and my 3 cousins were performing.
deanna was the hostess cum dancer, deb was one of the dancers, and daniel my 6 year-old cousin guest-starred as a cheeky male dancer. :)
my family was sitting in the middle of the 2nd row, directly behind the principal of scgs and infront of the board of directors of the rafflesians (i don't know how else to refer to the people in-charge of the raffles schools...haha).
anyway, they were discussing school topics while i eavesdropped on them from the middle (they were literally circling me in their seats).
quite amusing, their conversation.
and u seriously can't blame me for listening in, since i was sandwiched inbetween with the group talking over my shoulder.
they mentioned upgrading the school campuses (rjc's getting a 650-seater auditorium)...
and i think it's so unfair that scgs gets such extravagant budgets to fund their projects.
for example, we hired only 1 director and 1 dance instructor for our entire ld production.
they employ 4 cheorographers for every performance and many more teachers to correct the technical work (like ballet techniques and stuff).
costumes and set designs are painstakingly sought out ourselves, or else we reuse the props and costumes in the ld storage room.
sc girls get made-to-measure outfits, and 1 concert alone consists an average of 4 costume changes per girl.
plus, their backdrops are planned by award-winning set designers.
enough said.
we dance barefoot.
they get tapshoes and ballet slippers in 3 different materials (satin, leather and cloth).
we hire concert halls (although i must say, the jubilee hall at raffles hotel is a beauty).
they have a 618-seater auditorium in their school.
but despite lacking in the monetary aspects, i think we more than make up every inch of our shortcomings in heart, spirit and zest.
at least we're fully involved in the production, from its conceptualization right down to the staging, with hardly an adult dictating us (except maybe roger and belinda).
i'm so proud of our play, really.
and how can u not be - when even the director was moved to tears by the end of the matinee.
:)
break a leg, ld, for tomorrow's performance. :) Wednesday, July 14, 2004
11:50 p.m.
wow, irritation.
my dad reformatted the computer and i've lost all the songs in my itunes for like, the umpteenth time this year.
in other words, i either have to relocate, reorganise and re-edit (brendan will understand how long this takes) every single one of the mp3s, on top of asking people to send me songs (since my dad doesn't allow me to download them)...
or chuck the task aside till the end of the year and survive on the playlist currently in my ipod - without being able to add in any new songs anytime soon.
argh.
on a lighter note, lynette broke the record for her 50m backstroke!
i hope i got the event right.
and, she also did splendidly well in the relay with another gold!
haha...
so happy for her.
charm, jan, chow and i went down to support her at the nationals today.
i think the swimming finals are more exciting than the track ones.
hmmmm.
or maybe it's because the swimmers are more upclose than the trackers are.
anyhow, lunch today was hilarious. :)
jan lost the bet she made with chow, so she had to eat $5 worth of whatever we bought her.
we served her a fruit platter, 2 waffles, potato wedges, teh tarik, and a huge plate of curry chicken rice with additional side dishes amounting to exactly $5 in total.
the poor girl actually managed to finish the meal.
good on u, jan!
yummy stuff, we chose. :)
okae, i'm going off to phone tanny now.
it's almost midnight.
happy 16th birthday granny tanny (aka pumba)! :D Monday, July 12, 2004
10:54 p.m.
i think i'm addicted to uncle mobeen's teh tarik.
day in day out, i drink his concoction for breakfast and recess/lunch (dinner, too, if i had the chance).
but i try to hide behind the huge metallic vat of tea each time i order ice-tea-not-too-much-ice-please-thank-you-very-much, so as to avoid watching him mix those copious amounts of sugar, condensed milk and carnation milk into my drink (i think they make up about 25% of the capacity).
but its yummy factor overrides the sinfulness. :D
also, i have a new fetish for the eggs at the economical beehoon stall.
with generous helpings of soy sauce, no less.
yummy canteen fare, no? Monday, July 12, 2004

~!@#$%^&*(
i shall ignore her for seth's scripts then.
tanny, mitch, sarah and i got together yesterday for dinner and a little shopping.
bliss.
today, i went for mass then shopping with charm.
shopping for others, and also for self.
plus eating a whole lot of frozen berry yoghurt.
i didn't know the sales were still on.
took advantage of the discounts, i did.
too bad they didn't apply to the art shops, because those stingy pokers insistently charged me full price for the canvas i bought.
and, i had to lug this round canvas, 30-inches across, all around town...
posing a multitude of transportation difficulties.
and they handmade a supposed "handle" for me with ruffia string that broke off within 100m of the shop.
how unglam.
i realise i'm becoming progressively incoherent, and i still have to complete some form of pencil sketches for art tomorrow.
i am lagging like a lagging lagger.
and i'm terribly sleepy to boot.
oh, there are 4 tests this week, apparently, as i've just heard from trish.
more shock therapy coming our way.
i'd better clear off and hit the books.
sleep early, all. Friday, July 9, 2004
10:32 p.m.
methinks geeks are funky cool. :D
u gotta love seth.
i made bold my favourite lines.
Seth: OK Mom, you're dangerously close to the corn now - step back.
Sandy: It's the gruesome twosome!
Summer: Back so soon? 'Cause I was just...
(sees Sandy)
Eww!!! I mean...not eww, you are very atractive, for a dad...distinguised...oh my god!
Seth: You know what I dream about when I dream about Thanksgiving, which is often? I dream about eating so much deliciousness that all the blood rushes to my stomach and I pass out at the table. Please don't deny me that.
Seth (to Ryan): So when you lost your virginity, I was, I was playing Magic: The Gathering.
Ryan: Dude you still play Magic.
Seth: Yeah but not as much.
Seth: Mom! I... Oh, I get it. I'm just here for the comic relief.
Ryan: Sometimes I think you talk just to make sounds.
Seth: Sometimes I do.
Seth (about Summer): I think that almost thawed at her ice cold heart.
Anna: Seth doesn't understand the whole 'hard-to-get' strategy.
Ryan: That's because he's not.
Seth: What was that?
Ryan: Nothing.
Seth: That wasn't nothing. I saw something. I saw thoughts forming. I saw words percolating.
Seth: I like to think I can convey everything with a look.
Kirsten: Well, you look adorable!
Seth: No.
Kirsten: Cute?
Seth: No.
Kirsten: Dope?
Seth: No.
Kirsten: Rad?
Seth: Please, please, this is so painful for me!
Kirsten: Hey Sandy, dosen't Seth look rad?
Sandy: Oh, you do look rad! Mad props son!
Ryan: Why would I be nervous?
Seth: Because we're going to school with like 300 Lukes minus the redeeming social qualities.
Sandy: I've never heard you talk so much.
Ryan: I like to save it for when it counts.
Sandy: Good. So I heard what happened with your test today. Or what didn't happen.
(Ryan reacts non-verbally)
Sandy: So suddenly you're not so talkative.
Seth (looking at his Dad's id card): God! Dad those eyebrows are out of control.
Seth (telling Summer that they should talk about their kiss): I know denial is a very powerful coping mechanism, but I just think, that it's time that we paid lip service to our lip service.
Summer: Come on, be like a gentleman?
Seth: Chivalry's dead, sugar.
Sandy: There's no place Kirsten feels more comfortable than the kitchen.
Seth: What are you talking about? Mom can't even make cereal!
Kirsten: Thanks, Seth.
Seth: I love you, Mom.
Summer: Hey, don't you wanna introduce me to more people?
Seth: No. Because I know the only reason you came as my date is so I can introduce you to guys who just stare at your chest.
Summer: Who was staring at my chest?
Seth: And they don't know anything about you, they don't know that in third grade, everyday you shared your lunch with this little squirrel, who's lunch kept getting stolen by a fat squirrel.
Summer (sweet): I hated that fat squirrel.
Seth: And they don't know about how your hand shook when you had to read that poem aloud in class.
Summer: What poem?
Seth: 'I Want To Be A Mermaid'
Summer: That was like, in sixth grade, I barely remember that.
Seth: "I want to be a mermaid, to swim along the sea, and I want all the fish..."
(Summer kisses him on the lips)
Seth (stunned): "...to come and play with me."
Seth to Ryan: They're parents. They work for us.
Seth (to the lobster tank): Hello, sweet lobster. Soon I will be eating you.
Seth to Holly: You know, you're a great barbecusionist.
Summer: So, like, what am I supposed to do?
Seth: (coughs) Over here. (whistles)
Summer: Fine. Let's go.
Seth: (gets up excitedly) Are you sure? Because...if...if you're not totally...
Summer: Just don't talk to me.
Seth: All right, I get it. Our connection's a little bit deeper than words.
(She looks at him)
That's it, I'm done. I'm sorry. Uh, chock full of quiet now.
Ryan: So I'm now property of the government, take the name 082965.
Seth: Hey, at least it's better than 'death breath Seth'.
Seth: Where are you going?
Ryan: I dunno. New town, get a job somewhere, save some money.
Seth: That's a great plan. Sounds like you've given it a lot of thought.
Seth: Well, I admit the place could use some sprucing up. God, did I just say sprucing?
oh gosh, thursday please come quick. Friday, July 9, 2004
09:37 p.m.
i think i spoke too soon.
mrs soh gave our math papers back today.
i'm just glad i passed. :)
anyhow, mrs soh changed our seating arrangement for the umpteenth time, and we're now arranged by index number on solitary seats.
it's quite strange not having an adjacent table, but i do do do love my seat. :)
it's right at the back, beside sondra, with jan, charm, lyn, swei and chow barely a few seats in front of me.
in other words, we're all practically adjoined at the hip, indicating easy access for chitchat sessions once a free period hits. :)
and stace can easily walk over.
awesome.
also, the ld production's in progress...
slowly but surely.
haha.
there's barely a week left and i can't say i've grasped the dance steps entirely.
i still don't remember them as i should have by now.
anyway, i've a special shoutout to a few people. :)
lyn!
congrats on getting into the finals (but no surprise lah).
it'll be my first time seeing u swim competitively on wed.
can't wait!
muahahahaha. :)
stace!
best of luck for friday!
i can't go down because of the ld production...
but i'm sure u'll do well. :D
jan and charm sure can cheer (and scream).
trish!
lucky pig...
emjoy your trip (paid by the citizens of singapore) in indonesia, yes.
"spiderman, spiderman...
does whatever a spider can."
:D
okae then, i shall be off to watch television. |
i just want to know what blurs
and what is clear to see
"you don't you won't
- no way i say -
you didn't you doesn't
you isn't you wasn't
you wouldn't you couldn't
you oughtn't you shouldn't
love nobody but ME!"
