the hongkong plans are on hold, my results aren't perfect, i haven't applied for my american visa, i have eyebags from latenight romps, my nail polish is chipping, i haven't won a single game of mahjong this pig year, i can't always be with the people i want to be with due to job commitments, geographical differences, the army...
but despite all the obvious irritations i really think i'm one of the happiest people in the world.
basically i'm struggling with the small matters like filling in official forms (it's so taxing and highly repetitive) and having to replace my ic at farflung lavender while possibly having to queue (i'm a born procrastinator), but the big important stuff like people connections (ie. having heart-to-heart talks with my mum) are going superbly well;
so yes i'm definitely happy - other synonyms just don't match up. :)
after all it's better to find peace amidst imperfection than restlessness in a seemingly ideal state, right?

yesterday, back in school...
...and saturday, with the hockers.
(nut and glad play some kickass mahjong!)
we all know what's happening on friday;
but what happens after that?
went back to school for the first time since the 'a' levels and crashed hockey training.
we successfully reduced mr soh's 'simple suicides' for the juniors from 3 repetitions to just one!
aww man, i miss school and the people so bad.

living in my indefinite slackdom needs some form of structure i should think.
i've come up with two guidelines:
# do not be a slave to time - live by your own body clock.
# come up with a theme to live by each new day.
the first one has been going swimmingly well since i now eat when i feel like it and my body naturally retires at sundown.
this is also why i've deleted the time-and-date function on my blog.
before you think i'm a looney though, let me show you my source of inspiration:

i can think of no better time to experiment than now.
as for the second guideline, yesterday was officially my first day unemployed (not counting the public holiday), and so i declared it watch-as-much-tv-as-possible-day.
this allowed me to attune myself to the cable tv schedule and familiarise myself with the important showtimes (i know this contradicts with the other guideline but you see, spontaneity and adaptability is key to my current lifestyle).

anyway, i've picked up a considerable amount of nigella-speak if i may say so myself, due in no small part to my discovery travel&living marathon yesterday;
a cloud of icing sugar;
a tumble of blackberries;
a snowfall of biscuit crumbs;
royal icing that gives off a white patent leather sheen but dries gloriously matte;
disrobing the poached peaches and leaving them in all their naked blushing glory (skinning them, really);
basically it's a personification of every listed item in the recipe book and lending a blue-blood connotation to the humblest of ingredients - quite doable, no?
well i'm about to get started on day two of my slackdom and it's boutique-shopping-day.
i'm going to ann siang hill and holland village followed by dinner with cheryl and weiyan. :)
