12:51 a.m.
just got home!
was out with charm.
anyhoo, i've been coughing like an ageing wheezebag these past few days and ms giam so kindly introduced me to this lemon drink that i am now in love with. :D
she even gave me 4 lemons to make my own tea at home!
woohoo, new addiction (i'm past the whole mocha soya phase of last month).
yesterday was more shopping with sab, charm and tanny in orchard and cityhall.
then mahjong at mitch's place in the night!
but i was too drowsy to really enjoy myself...
once this blows over, i'm going to get down and really indulge in all the heaty food on our planet earth even if it kills me.
i've been depriving myself of a lot of things, especially chocolate.
and i've also discovered that my daily noshes consist of only heaty stuff because while picking out something edible for my lunch today, i reluctantly settled for chicken porridge, english tea sans milk and watermelon which are not the usual sort of things i would choose on a sickness-free day.
at a few points, i had to force the spoonfuls down my throat if only to fill my tummy.
i don't much like the 'cooling' stuff.
and speaking of the planet earth, this reminds me of the movie i caught just now...
the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy which is rated a definite please-do-not-ever-ever-watch.
negative 5 popcorns/stars/what-have-you.
charm and i - we have a history of bad movies together (think: pacifier).
and i really want to join this but i don't have the time to sew.
i love crafting though.
oh well, maybe when i'm married with kids or something i can make them toys instead.
you know, stitching a few pieces of cloth together and sewing on a couple of buttons, i can handle that.
but then again, i wouldn't want to traumatise them with alien-looking toys now would i.

12:20 a.m.
support the milkrun.
should be fun. :)
i totally saw it coming.
swei, tanny and i went to sentosa for some tanning yesterday afternoon and i kept insisting that i got a heat stroke.
yeah i was exaggerating but the sun was really terrible...
and what do you know, i woke up to a 38.9°c fever this morning.
no wonder i was feeling so giddy last night and too uncomfortable to go for the cocolatte party.
but anyway, charm and i caught madagascar.
i didn't really like it but it's quite funny i suppose...
i mean, the accents are hilarious.
then we had the most sinful supper followed by a mad hunt for cabs with swei all over orchard.
even the taxi phonelines were engaged!
tsk tsk.
so after visiting the doctor today, my mum dropped me off in town where i met mitch and tanny for some shopping.
i was feeling a little drowsy from the medicine and all that walking around wasn't really helping...
but by evening, i was in pretty good shape because retail therapy always works.
took a cab down to charlotte's place for her birthday party and got lost in the maze of houses.
but anyhoo, happy 17th birthday dear. :)
we had a nice candlelit barbeque dinner (although i didn't have the appetite for much) and homemade chocolate fondue of which i only had a strawberry's worth.
but it was yummy nonetheless.
well okay, all 5 of us are chatting with sarah online now and that little brat is coming back only in july.
sheesh, what a long wait!
i hope she enjoys her 3 month summer break though.
and check this out.
cool beans!

1:02 a.m.
this place is finally done.
i did it up from scratch!
whew.
it loads much faster now because i cleared a lot of stuff.
the whole template revolves around my favourite colour combo of green, brown and orange...
so fetch. :)
haha.
anyway, the hols have been awesome fun so far.
saturday.
sentosa with the bbc!
we bumped into so many people on that tiny island...
and it was great seeing lynette after weeks of absence. :)
anyway, exercise is so not our thing.
the whole group of us ended up at new zealand's natural for icecream followed by lunch at sakae sushi.
just sitting around chatting is what we do best!
charm and i went for a mani/pedi at holland village afterwards.
i had a male manicurist...
it was seriously too weird for me.
haha.
i kept giggling.
sunday.
mass with the family, lunch at holland village, then town with sab, mitch, trish and tanny!
orchard was so packed, it was crazy.
and so we headed down to mitch's place and had a great time catching up. :)
i laughed so hard i cried.
have a safe trip to thailand and all the best for your matches there, trish!
monday.
met swei, charm and tanny for lots of good food at holland village...
i was so stuffed with dumplings and icecream and whatnot.
finally got my antipodean stuff too.
love the shop. :)
we spent quite a few hours just sitting around talking...
and i just got off a conference call with them, including jan and chow (who i haven't seen in the longest time).
i think we talk too much?
hmmm.
i think i should mention the theme of this webpage.
balance.
the picture of the lady in the background reminds me of balance.
in general.
in my life.
somehow. :)
alright, i should go off just about now.
got to get up for a day in sentosa tomorrow.
till then!
Saturday, May 28, 2005
12:06 a.m.
just got off a conference call with shuwei&co.
can't wait for all 6 of us to get together tomorrow. :)
and i have to list what i ate today...
if only just to horrify me a little and kickstart my get-fit plan this june holiday.
nougat.
hasbrown.
hokkien mee.
justea.
chocolate chip cookie.
potato salad.
mocha frappucino.
lemon meringue pie.
crispy fried chicken.
peach juice.
oh oh oh, and we had an awesome class picnic outside the amphitheatre today under a slight drizzle. :)
it was so nice pigging out to music on charlotte's ipod while singing along to songs we knew.
we're going to make this a regular thing...
hopefully the food spread will get progressively extravagant too!
after the picnic and photo-taking, cheryl, andrea, joanne and i went down to rafflescity for some shopping.
the great singapore sale has commenced!
blisss.
1st purchase of the season: green skinny polo from ralph lauren.
so at about 3.30pm, the three of them left for dance while i went down to meet charm and her friend liane at j8.
sat at cedele for some lemon lovin' (tart for her and pie for me!) followed by tuition at ms giam's.
she's quite possibly the nicest tutor i've had so far.
not every teacher overlooks my habitual dozing off mid-lesson and even attempts to cure it by feeding me mochi/cake/milo/icecream/cereal.
yes, her's is a well-stocked kitchen.
at about 8pm, charm and i went back to j8 for dinner.
all eat and no exercise...
i really have to train up my stamina this june.
see, this is the annual resolution-making point at which i optimistically plan for the holiday ahead and draw up some highly ambitious study & fitness schedule that artfully incorporates play time too.
hopefully, i'll stick to it this time.
and sarah's coming back from the states!
hoorah hoorah (the ants go marching one by one) hoorah hoorah!

07:50 p.m.
i think i blog too regularly, too much.
but ah well, acjc's rugby team won the championships...
which means i lost my bet.
no more jumbo yami yoghurt treat for me.
oh yes, and i want to get a cat.
this, coming from a girl who shudders everytime a stray cat walks by.
but the kitten we saw at holland village's pet lovers centre was too cute.
it has gorgeous fur and blue eyes...
aww, pretty ball of fur.
i'm drawing up a new template for this place.
have had this one for way too long.
till then!

09:22 p.m.
lunch at o'briens with my favourite girls in class is the best!
and also when we can yakkity yak as much as we want without restrain. :D
i'm waiting for my mum to come home...
she just went grocery shopping at marks&spencer.
this can only mean one thing.
viennese and chocolate-coated digestive biscuits...
i love.

10:46 p.m.
this morning, the principal (i still don't know her name. it just never stuck) announced that we were getting half the day off from school...
which in other words meant that we got to skip the geography test again!
nice.
i think it should be scrapped altogether.
so then we had a class lunch (well, half the class) and some window shopping at holland village.
left for town with yvonne to meet grannytanny afterwards.
anyhoo, convo with the yami yoghurt guy.
me: jumbo peach yoghurt with strawberry please.
him: you must really love yoghurt. i saw you yesterday and last week.
me: haha, really.
then he returns me my loyalty card with all the stamps filled in.
him: congratulations! you've completed another one.
me: oh, thanks. you issued me my previous card too right.
him: yes i did. the many previous few.
seriously, am i eating too much yami yoghurt?
i had diarrhoea just now from the stupendous amounts of peach yoghurt ingested today.
but it can't beat the other time with mitch...
i ate a jumbo, medium and regular cup consecutively and got the most massive upheaval of my bowels.
and do i learn from past mistakes?
no, i just go ahead and create another monster in my stomach.
but yami yoghurt is really too good to pass up.
okay i'd better work on my practical criticism essay now.
3 more days to term break.
Tuesday, May 24, 2005
01:56 a.m.
so much for staying up to complete my overdue homework.
i meet people like belle and nic and den and ad and geri online and...
msn basically takes over from there.
alright i'm off to sleep.
Tuesday, May 24, 2005
01:09 a.m.
i'm up doing homework now...
bummer, really.
but today was good. :)
met up with sab, mitch, trish and tanny for lunch then bumped into swei, chow and valen!
all of us headed over to mitch's place to watch dvds and play mahjong.
ooh la love.
they made me miss st nicks all over again.
i laughed so much today!
and especially to janice...
i've completely forgotten how you look like.
please reflect on the above statement.
all i remember are the shape of your legs (they're distinct).
;)

01:37 a.m.
just had a conference call with swei, jan, chow and charm.
we used to do that so often.
can't wait for the school term to end so that we can all meet up again...
following which they'll leave for america and hongkong and shanghai and australia etc etc etc.
blah.
and last i heard, lyn has mark chay driving her to training at the swimming complex?
lucky girl! :D
but anyhoo, i'm so glad there's no school tomorrow.
it's mahjong day with sab, mitch, trish and tanny, finally.
and did i mention?
yours truly labouriously plowed through 16 pages of the economics tys yesterday.
this gives me the right to enjoy the rest of my weekend (and ignore all other forms of homework ie. graded lit assignment).
is it me or is every single piece of homework given by the teachers branded with the threat of 'marks awarded'?
it only means we have to do everything as best we can.
hmmm.
perhaps i should conjure up some psychoanalytical theory explaining teacher intentions aye.
alright i'm off to read.
got good deals out of the kinokuniya sale today...
and without me having to spend out of my own pocket!
i must say, i do love stationery shopping too.
certainly F to the A B.

01:18 a.m.
tgif.
school ends early. :)
jiaying got me so worried during lunch at harbourfront just now.
like, i don't think i'll be able to keep up with trainings.
sigh.
i'll train up my fitness this holiday?
my 2.4km timing this year is slower than that of the past 4 years in st nicks.
doesn't bode well at all.
plus i've been eating so much.
and omg i have to mention this...
i ate creamy chicken soup, ice cream, creamy angelhair pasta, a milk+vanilla concoction and white berry chocolate for dinner with charm at serangoon garden yesterday.
what a dairy-packed meal aye.
it subsequently gave me the worst case of diarrhoea last night.
haha.
sad but true.
oh, and i met tanny for shopping in town afterwards.
spent my tuition fund but it's okay.
i can always save up.
after that, we went to meet sab and mitch to collect my o level certificate.
okay here are new photos finally...
after 892352365 years of not updating my albums.
these weren't taken by me though...
they belong to the sweeeeet weiyan. :)
trip to the esplanade.
i like!
Wednesday, May 18, 2005
11:10 p.m.
just got back from town after having a small birthday dinner for herngliang along with belle, tanny and darren.
i was like a walking zombie the whole day...
2 hours of sleep is insufficient.
i should try getting more sleep tonight.
anyhoo, i woke up at 5.30am this morning in order to reach school at the ungodly hour of 6.30am.
i think it's just wrong to be in school that early.
but anyway, much thanks to yvonne and her dad for fetching me because i would never have reached school that early without the lift.
i'm so relieved i got my A for the run despite not training.
st nicks used to push us so hard...
all those morning jogs.
alright, i really should be going now.
lots of homework to complete.
a lot.
and i love the summer break...
everyone's coming back from overseas.
whoopdeedoop!

11:50 p.m.
school was terrible today.
we had the most boring econs lecture ever and although i didn't doze off, it was only because i'd slept at 11pm the previous night.
that was followed by pe during which jo, mitchel and i ran for 30 minutes.
attended gp all sticky and smelly.
ms cher gave us a reading quiz during lesson which i came this close to failing because i hadn't read the newspaper articles in our handout.
then she scolded us for our tardiness in handing in homework and gave half the class zeroes for the essay that was due on monday.
so now i have a nice round zero in my report card.
bummer, really.
but things got better.
the romanis house (arts fac!) got released at 1.45pm today to go down and support the rugby team against rjc.
we had a mini class outing to holland village for caesar salad at coffeebean and häagen dazs ice cream.
smackeroos.
oh, and rj won by about 7 or 8 to nil.
they scored during the last few minutes.
really quite an unfortunate happenstance...
but sa played with dignity (we don't kick others in the chest now do we) so all's good. :)
met up with charm at j8 followed by tuition and lots of food shopping.
i want to make j8 my new study place because of the awesome lemon meringue pie at cedele.
see, it is food that dictates my life.
right, i should be going just about now.
still got my pi and gp essay to complete.
and i do believe my 2.4km run is tomorrow morning (at 7am please) meaning i've got to wake up at 5.30am in order to make it on time.
oh my my my.
i wish i could fastforward to the long weekend.
no, make that the june holidays.
Monday, May 16, 2005
01:10 a.m.
omg!
i just realised i have my pw pi and econs tutorial and graded essay to complete of which i have not touched on at all.
and they are must-do-no-other-way-about-it obligations.
excluding other assignments i have deemed temporarily unimportant and off the agenda for today.
die.
i'm off.
Sunday, May 15, 2005
10:01 p.m.
i've not been this excited in a long time.
i'm into beaded stuff now (anything quaint) and so i bought this awesome vintage bead set and tool kit (with pliers and stuff) from here
to kick-start my beading hobby.
woohoo!
next up is the notion box with more odd and funky trinkets then i'm on my way to store membership that comes with discounts and invitations.
i'm going to revive the old collection of glass beads and start accumulating my junk again.
what gleeeee.
well yesterday was full of spur-of-the-moment instances.
i took a cab down to orchard in the late afternoon and entered a random salon in paragon to get a much-needed haircut.
it's given me a short ponytail but i'm fine with it.
i like the smell of keratase products.
sab and mitch popped by the salon afterwhich we went to meet tanny for dinner at the heeren.
shopped for more t-shirts (is it cheaper to purchase online than from queen's couture?) and then headed towards orchard mrt station.
there was a huge crowd outside indochine already gathered when it started raining cats and dogs.
so annoying.
we couldn't move anywhere.
oh yes, rather spontaneous but here's a list of my top 5 favourite films.
1. les choristes
2. jeux d'enfants
3. cold mountain
4. a beautiful life
5. dead poets society
coincidentally, i cried when watching all but one of them.
jeux d'enfants is more quirky than anything else but it's very refreshing.
borrow one of these the next time you're at a dvd rental shop. :)
okay where was i...
oh yes, attended mass with my family this morning followed by lunch and shopping with charm.
it's good to know we won't ever drift because church, shopping and late-nights (and thereby the life-long mission to diminish eyebags) will keep us together for a long time to come. :D
my new favourite chocolate snack is called double berry and it's a heavenly bar of white chocolate and raspberry and blackcurrant bits in it.
can you say yum-yum-yummy.
i've had it for 3 nights in a row.
which makes it 6 bars altogether.
oh my my my.
Friday, May 13, 2005
11:49 p.m.
awesome day!
no sign of friday the 13th misfortune.
after dismissal at 11.45am (friday is our early day!), cheryl, weiyan, joanne, malorie and i went down to rafflescity for lunch at coffeeclub.
yum.
over to the esplanade for tea at maxbrenner's.
yum yum.
then over to o'briens sandwich bar for dinner.
yum yum yum.
i had chocolate...
-croissant
-fondue
-suckao (chocolate pellets + milk)
-brownie bar
-nestle coated berries bar
supreme chocolate attack!
and thanks for the treat weiyan. :)
we did a little shopping and taking of photos all over the place too.
more such fortnightly outings please.
if i could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him
i'd play a song that would never, ever end
how i'd love, love, love
to dance with my father again

11:33 p.m.
i feel so accomplished!
absolutely no homework's due tomorrow (except maybe the second pi draft but i'll leave that aside) so yes, early bedtime tonight.
technically, i shouldn't be feeling accomplished at all since i didn't exactly achieve anything today but i think getting through this week that has been laden with essays and outlines and tutorials is an achievement on its own so hurrah!
today's been like klutz day for me.
i accidentally burnt my arm with the iron this morning and the ironic thing is, i wasn't even ironing.
there's this ugly burn mark there now.
and while walking down the stairs in school just now, i slipped on a rain puddle and slid down a few steps on my bum.
my bruises hurt.
well okay self-pity aside, i'm compiling a shopping list online so that swei can help me get stuff when she goes to the states in june.
woohoo!
and i've been waiting all week for friday because we've planned the itinerary for this day since monday (the things we do in school), so here's to the weekend - finally.
it's test week ahead though.
bah, ignorance is bliss.
:)
Tuesday, May 10, 2005
11:40 p.m.
little miss enthusiastic here decided to go jogging during pe today and got caught in the rain on the 7th round.
we were halfway round the track, so mitchel and i had to run across the field for shelter.
i hate getting wet without a full change of clothes on hand.
anyway, i met many st nicks girls in sajc today like tiff and sondra and swei so yay! :)
people like mel and karl came down for the sa-ac rugby match too and it was quite an exciting game.
i didn't really get the scoring system though, so i just cheered blindly then joined swei and sondra at the ac side of the field during the second half.
sa lost, but it's okay.
there are many other wins to come.
:)
swei and i went down to harbourfront after the match and had dinner along with tanny at sakae sushi.
gyoza and chawanmushi!
my loves.
we had a good time reminiscing the old upper secondary days and i'm really looking forward to our movie date next week.
and no i'm not a cheekopek, swei.
haha.
i really should start on my literature practical criticism essay now.
bummer.
Monday, May 9, 2005
09:49 p.m.
i got air mail from the states today!
how very exciting.
snail mail's the bomb.
and i want to get the dkny be delicious lip gloss so bad but there's a bit of a cash flow stagnation going on here...
anyhoo, the new lector secretary (there's been a reshuffling of the management committee) phoned today because apparently, the emails she sent all bounced back.
as if that didn't irritate her enough, i made the mistake of calling her "aunty esther" instead of "aunty evelyn"...
not once, but twice.
consecutively.
and come to think of it, the names might have been the other way round.
but it's majorly mortifying either way.
i do hope she gave me convenient time slots on the new lectoring roster.
today's just one of those dreary school days...
i blame it fully on the weather.
i refuse to eat chocolate because i've already brushed my teeth (early, i know) so maybe only the new issue of teenvogue can satiate me right now.
lindsay lohan's on the cover.
like eew.
and i'm aching from the napfa test today.
standing broad jumps - officially the bane of my life.
and it doesn't help that mr lum is as law-abiding as they come.
i bet janadas devan (my favourite writer in the straits times) wouldn't approve of this entry because it is totally going against his opinion of matters concerning words and sentences in that this entry is incoherent and extremely fragmented.
were it typed on microsoft word, the spellcheck would probably go on a mad frenzy underlining this whole chunk with red zigzag underscores.
yeah i should just stop about now.
desperate housewives calls.

09:47 p.m.
amidst all the playing and going out this weekend, it suddenly hit me - i have a lot of homework to do.
including a chinese compo that laoshi made me redo.
oh well, no matter.
because chocolate helps.
postie
wouldn't it be nice if the world was cadbury
chocolate roads and trees 'n' birds 'n' bees
delivering all kinds of letters daily
every kind of purple parcel too
and if the dog did try and grab a mouth full
you can bite him back, he'll taste delightful
wouldn't it be nice!
surfer
wouldn't it be nice if the world was cadbury
you could surf inside a chocolate tube
ride your board across the wave forever
get wiped out and never get a bruise.
and if a shark came up and tried to bite you
you could say "i'm chocolate i invite you"
wouldn't it be nice!
soccer
wouldn't it be nice if the world was cadbury
you could be a soccer super star
the referee would blow his chocolate whistle
a shot on goal would even break the bar
and if you went and scored the winner
you'd win the cup and eat it for your dinner
wouldn't it be nice!
car
wouldn't it be nice if the world was cadbury,
driving in the car would be a tasty treat,
changing gear would soon become a problem,
cadbury dairy milk is so good to eat.
and when you arrive at your destination,
you'll be greeted with an exclamation,
wouldn't it be nice!

11:20 p.m.
okay, mega huge update ahead because i'm over the moon today. :D
and also because for once, i'm not online to do homework and i don't foresee a 4am bedtime either (as has been the case for the past 2 weeks).
during civics this morning, the pastor was talking about the da vinci code when halfway through the speech, joanne suddenly exclaimed...
"huh, he's a pastor? i thought he was a salesman trying to sell the book or something."
i found it really funny at that point.
haha.
jo's the cutest.
and mal was on a perpetual high with her band's gold with honours.
congrats. :)
concert at the esplanade ahead!
okay after all the boring old lessons which ended around noon, daryl lim gave our whole class green slips to leave the school before 12.45pm.
something must have really come over him...
but anyway, sam, jo, mal, charlotte, corinne, cheryl, yvonne and i went down to subway for lunch.
speaking of which, i ate so many chocolate items today, including a chocolate croissant, double chocolate chip cookie, milo dinosaur and cadbury chocolate.
wow.
all the heatiness.
yupp so we had a good gossiping session in subway before i left for town with wendy and jiaying.
we walked from place to place shopping and i'm happy to say that my specs are finally here. :)
they're hilarious fun!
we ate again (fried chicken and yami yoghurt) at scotts before cabbing down to smu for the cj-sa girls' hockey match.
met belle and cheryl there too!
and congrats mich ye, on cj's win.
i went to support you okay.
so after the match, we headed off to prata cafe just outside smu which is like the most poser-ish prata place ever.
haha.
the 3 of us were laughing so hard at everything about the place, especially at wendy's french prata.
then we started talking about our future and things got pretty solemn because we realised that it's time we settled and got down to studying.
we don't want to retain now do we.
many study sessions ahead yes.
anyway, we took a walk after our meal at poser prata and checked out all the houses along nassim road.
they're not even houses, to be precise...
more like estates with bodyguards at every entrance.
we saw the residence of the chief justice of singapore and the ambassadors of saudi arabia etc etc.
rich farts, all of them.
we walked all the way down and ended up at tanglin mall, before journeying home.
haha, such an adventure really.
one year back, i'd never have imagined myself walking and talking to wendy and jiaying this way but see, you never know.
we went from st nicks to cj together and i'm so glad to have them both in sa now. :D
okay, i'll have to go pack my bag for tomorrow.
study session with the girls in the morning and i do hope we don't end up chatting and shopping the day away like we always do.
that'll be followed by mahjong at mich's place which i'm highly anticipating!
itchy itchy fingers.
alright, i'm off.
