if you want a good laugh
check out how much coldplay tickets for madison square garden are through this ticket agency. and i haven't even been able to find any on craig's list for a semi-reasonable price. guess i will just have to hope they add another show.

why i love liam gallagher
he's a brat, but a lot of what he says is, like, true.

can you survive the terror?
i am not an easily spooked person, though i do have this unfortunate habit of latching onto an idea and mentally running with it, blowing certain things out of proportion. so it's probably not the best thing that i am working to publicize this terrorism survival handbook. i am seriously contemplating buying a battery-powered radio and goggles. as if these are going to help me when terrorists start blowing up new york city! i really have to get a grip. and speaking of getting a grip, did anyone else see our "fearless leader" give his little talk about war last night? did anyone else feel sick to their stomach, just knowing that the moment we attack, no american anywhere is safe? that was a great feeling, wasn't it? what i also love: how we're now apparently doing this to free the iraqi people from an evil regime. funny, cause i don't think we cared about their welfare for the last few decades saddam was dictating over them.

are you highly evolved?
just bought tix on line to see the vines at roseland next month. i am sort of hoping that instead of just a plain old show, we get treated to some totally mental behavior by the lead singer. i feel bad that he's so messed up...but it could make a very good story.

the revs
saw them monday night at the mercury lounge at a showcase show. they were very, very fun. high praise: if it wasn't more of an industry gig, i would have joined the sole drunk guy on the floor dancing around. maybe. anyway, i took some grand digital photos (yes, i know i need to learn how to post photos.) of the action, and promptly developed crushes on both the lead singer and the lead guitarist. fortunately i'll be seeing more of them--c has been "hired" to handle some of their fall u.s. tour stuff, and work on a film project with them. which means i get to work on it too, which is so cool. perhaps there will be three cute irish lads sleeping on the pull-out-couch come september. could be worse.

portugal is hip
who knew? i have to say, i really loved it. for what that's worth.

what i am reading now
and i'm actually really enjoying it. as much as it pained me to buy a book with the "oprah" seal of approval, it was slim pickings at the san juan airport. puerto rico was fab, thank you for asking. blue-blue water, hot-hot sun, and tan-tan skin for everybody. the perfect antidote to this winter of ours.

wanna buy a cake?
dear catwoman has plugged me and my thus-far-theoretical cake biz on the pita, and i feel special. really, folks, they're good cakes. if you would like something yummy and fun for a party, just drop me a line: nerdgirl@angelfire.com. we'll talk about your vision and see what i can do.

chris's new bosses
(shhhhh...)

evan and zora
so for a show that was a guilty, trashy pleasure to watch, FOX's "joe millionaire" actually managed to pull together a really sweet finale last night. i was just about in tears--as was paul the butler--when evan and zora both said they liked each other, without all that pesky money. and props to alana for guessing they'd get a million if they went for love and not money. i guess sometimes fairy tales do come true.
