no no, not dead yet.

I've come back from a week of general bitchiness and feeling down. At the moment I have a headache, and my neck is sore, but none of this truly relates.

I went to Andy's shindig on Sunday and stayed the night, after mingling with drunk and/or high people and watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre and playing Sonic 2 on the Genesis (so cool, even if I did suck) and eating loads of pasta. Well, we had pasta for lunch on Monday as well, but that was Loury's pasta, not Lauryl's. Very different. Sausages were had as well; I brought two dozen original glazed Krispy Kreme donuts, an angel food cake, and a loaf of garlic bread. All of that disappeared by the end of things, which is what happened to all the food, really. I was kinda bored and out of place, since I wasn't drinking heavily or smoking up, but it was all right.

I'm sad now that I've read up to volume 34 of Hana Yori Dango, and no one will translate the newer stuff since it got licensed by Viz. I'm going to have to beg for later volumes for Christmas. And Shogun. Yeah, can't forget Richard Chamberline. I've been downloading lots of manga recently! Nifty nifty.

Okay, I'm out. Shoo.

thorny

Chris and Amy came over earlier to visit, and they stayed for dinner as well. Things aren't looking pretty. Chris is still jobless and won't be going into the Army until November, and Amy can't get a job due to disability, and they just got evicted from their apartment. Chris asked Dad if they could temporarily stay here... Mom didn't like the idea, since it's crowded enough with three people in the house. Except when I was little, wow, there were five people in the house; Chris and Karen had to stay somewhere, right? And in any event, they have a dog, and dogs aren't allowed to live in our neighborhood (though how, exactly, does one explain the dog next door, hmm? I'd love to know what our landlady, Rosie, thinks about such double standards). Chris is going back to the unemployment office later, and also try to straighten things out with his own landlord... Bleh. I feel bad for them.

Another thing: Amy mentioned at dinner that should the Army bit pan out for Chris, you know, him getting an education through them and all, doing... something mechanical, since that's what he's good at, they're going to try to have a baby. This doesn't sound particularly good to me (and not because I don't like kids). Amy has her history of seizures. She's in her mid-thirties, Chris in his late twenties. On our side of the family, we have a history of diabetes, thyroid problems, and who knows what sort of cancer. And even if they adopt (which she said was a possiblity too), then... Well I don't know. Chris being in the Army will probably help their chances at getting a child, but there's still a question of Amy's seizures. The way things are now, she has to be supervised almost constantly; if they have a child around, and she has a seizure, and she's the only one there... You know?

I'm worried about them. Worried about my own situation... Which is still up in the air. Eh.

back from arizona

It was a nifty trip. Seeing the Grand Canyon was really nice, and overall, spending time with John was the best. I got to meet some more of his friends, and they were cool. Went to the movies twice (seeing movies I'd already seen before), played some DDR, beat down John at Puzzle Bobble (heh heh heh), and went swimmin' lots. Yeah, had to buy a bathing suit for that... Scary. Bought some great stuff (King of Bandit Jing DVD with box, The Infinite Tapestry book, a Newsweek magazine, some blank CDs to burn my music on, gift stuff for Mom and Amy, rocks... yeah I collect rocks. Shove off). John bought me The War of the Flowers, the newest book by Tad Williams ¬_¬ I told him he shouldn't have. But does he listen to me? No, no he does not. But I like it. Played Mage, but I was disoriented the whole time, since I was on John's funky computer @_@ I missed you, Lucy! *hugs her computer*

Yeah... that sounds about it.

a lacking night life

I can't go to the dance/electronica show that Wray invited me to later today because we're going to play Mage tonight ;_; I mean, yeah, I love Mage, but I told Wray I'd do stuff with him... *sighs*

Hmm, Mage. Things to think about. Experience to gather. Stuff that needs... other stuff. ~_~; Soooo eloquent.

My mom told me yesterday that my friends and I were geeks. I told her we were, and we were proud, but it's those particular sorts that give us intelligent nerds a bad rep.

I found myself effectively mute most of the time while out with Sara and Billy on Wednesday. But it was a fun outting. I caved in and bought myself RahXephon Volume 4, and got the thing that I said I would get for John... that only John knows I'm getting him o_o; But since it's supposed to be a "surprise," and he's not supposed to "know" about it, I can't say it here. But it's a really cool and nifty little thing that's awesome. Or at least John and I think so.

Enough of that. It's getting mushy in here.

Pretty excited about going to Phoenix this Monday =D Gonna be neat. Gonna see John. Gonna be happiness^2.

Gonna go now =P
