I'm on keyboard tonight. Thank goodness Andrew is leading; he has skill, he has experience, he makes things so much easier. Practiced for a while earlier today ... the first 2 songs are hard! But they're also fun to play, and I like them. Andrew must never think of making me lead. Not for a long time, long and long. I can't do it. Gavin once asked me if I wanted a microphone, and I said nooo. Personally, though, I think singing is SO much easier than keyboard ... as long as one has a sense of rhythm and tune (which some don't)! I mean, if you're not leading, you don't even need to practice. I just don't think I'll try both at once at the moment.

Bubble tea was good, but I honestly don't think I'll have any more cravings for a while. And I've filled up my card, almost. No, Vickers! No pictures! Photos are BAD! Argh ... I don't think I'll have time to do much work today. History and Bio notes can wait. So can math. At least I've got French done.

I figured out some things yesterday. Managed to steal some time from a hectic schedule to write in diary. Not that anything is very significant, mind you. Merely of personal interest.

Ack, History test was dead EASY ... I always overstudy. A number of things to do this weekend; I should get started soon. Soon, as in later, as in not now, hehehe. No school tomorrow, yippee!

And Reach was so fun! I honestly thought it was a bad idea making the teams individual. Then I won! Hurrah!!

James, your birthday is in exactly a month, am I right? Happy pre-19th! You are too *old*, I tell you ... you are all old, including Naraku (did I get it right that time?) :P

Went for dinner yesterday at this Tropika restaurant with -- *gasp* YING AND ROSEY!!! Arharharhar! Moses is too cute. He likes to beat up on David. I laugh.

History test tomorrow! I haven't studied! Nooo! Luckily I still remember stuff from grade 9; thank you Jim! You are responsible for my acing the pop quiz! And oh yes. Online cram fests are unequalled.

I CAN FINALLY WATCH THE LORD OF THE RINGS!! Yay! I've wanted to for soo long (Lyd can attest to that)! Now we've rented it and I can watch it tonight! Ahahaha! And I am happy because it's been a good weekend. I think I've done everything that needs to be done, except studying a bit more for Chem ...

Now I'm talking to Bobby and he's making me all dizzy and confuzzled. Grr! This feels far too much like a sitcom ... or a soap opera ... in essence, NOT GOOD. Aaaaa ...

Hrm. I baked cookies yesterday! Fun-ness! Foods is fun, although I probably won't be taking it next year.

Seems like Rebecca's page is up again! ^.^ "Singing and laughing and having fun" eh? Well, that we did ^.^ And did you know James got mad at us? At me, I mean, 'cuz I didn't want his games on my computer. And 'cuz I ignored him. Add that to the fact that you and Linda kicked everyone else out of the room. Bleh, sorry.

At the moment I am all confused about this TOK thing. WHAT are we supposed to do, exactly? All I caught was "highlight and annotate"; what's this about a presentation?? Ai, maybe I wasn't paying attention ...

I don't think I have a lot of work this weekend. Not an unbearable amount, anyway. TOK passages, study for HIS test, Lab 4D and study for CHEM lab test, FR journal and Schaum's. MA graphing calculator exercises and practice IB Portfolio, ENG reread Oedipus Rex, BIO review notes and scribble in study book. Yup yup yup, I could get used to this.

Yesterday: Bubble tea was fun and involved a fair amount of walking. Bleh ... but walking is good for you. Also managed to read TOK sheet and History chapter before we had to "sign in" for Awards Night. Descartes' "First Meditation" is interesting; I actually understood it! Awards Night was slightly tedious. Why can't they be more imaginative and line us up by reverse alphabetical order?? This has bugged me since kindergarten!! And now that Alvin isn't in IB anymore, I fall to last again! Nooo! Well, at least I get to chat with Alyson Wong and Anthony Wray (who I don't know very well but seems nice enough). It turns out my subject award was in IB English 10 ... not overly surprised, just wasn't expecting it. And the whole ceremony was pretty well organized, I thought, so it didn't take as long as it might have.

Today: Pop quiz in History! Just like one of those Jim quizzes I hated so much in grades 8 and 9! Yet I got perfect! Wheee! We are the superior class; 4 perfect papers! Ahahaha! Chem tests returned to us also ... oi, a few stupid mistakes ... 90% on that, which I am satisfied with ... funny how my standards are falling ... I used to be like Jack ... oi. A fairly light load in regard to homework tonight. Hooray!!

Garrr, that little episode after school today ... that was baaad. Bad bad bad bad bad. Why why why. Just to clarify: Anthony has nothing to do with Michael. And vice versa. Clear enough, I should think. *raowrr*

It's amazing how easily I revert back to summer mode. It takes less than a long weekend; maybe a single slack-off day, and *poof* ... *zzzzz*!

Must study. Also didn't quite realize the amount of minor things that need to be done. Those tend to pile up after a while. The Bubble Tea thing is on, I assume?

Working on history ... or trying to ... let's just say it's not going very well ... I get stuck at every turn ... grrr. Anyway, thanks for the offer, Neale, but it isn't exactly necessary that I find it. Thanks though!

Keyboard was kinda not-so-good today ... arrrgh! Those transitions! And HOW can you come in on the wrong key when it's so blatantly obvious what key you're supposed to be in? And that last song ... I can't find a good rhythm to play it in. It's not meant for piano; it's meant for violin or one of those funky Chinese instruments ...

Cat has a new layout! Yar!

Looking for my dad's book Great Dialogues of Plato. It has to be here somewhere! And it's bound to relate to TOK material! It may even have Book VII of "Plato's Republic"! Garr! I need to find it!

Well, what else do I have to say? Lydia, delivered your letter (and yes, I am absolutely hilarious. I am well aware of that. Ahahaha). Will rocks! ^.^ And Cat, which day is it that I need a ride for? Thursday?

Love.

Ah, love. In essence, a simple concept, but it's been through so many distortions that much of its meaning has been obscured.

Love. A word as simple as Good, at the same time broad and difficult to explain ... maybe love is meant to be felt, and not analyzed ...

I see love as not only an emotion, but also a state of being. A desire to fulfill another's wishes before one's own. Love that remains steadfast in the face of trial. Love with no strings attached. Sacrificial love. Unconditional love.

Once kindled, it cannot be lost.

So what does this make me: rational or romantic?

Obviously the fact that other people visit, and that this blog is not merely a private vent, must have slipped my mind yesterday. Oi ... but somehow I find I don't care anymore. Not as much, anyway (this does NOT mean you are at liberty, mes amies). And no, Bobby, it's anything but new.

I have been reading Tokyo Nights on Club S, and I think it makes an interesting read. Hehehe. Furthermore, I have decided that I like Chemistry ... for the time being, anyway.

Ai ... today started off with math. No, actually it began with me waking up too early because I accidentally set my alarm to 6:15 instead of 7:00. Bed was sooo comfy, but I couldn't get back to sleep. THEN math. Math is boring. Very, very, extremely, insanely, irrevokably, undeniably BORING. I was yawning a lot.

I accompanied Michael down to Ideal on his prompting. Talked to Stella, Vickers, Neale, as well as Jim and Aaron (briefly). Aaron still has his yellow truck! Yay! Tradition stands undisputed. Then back to Churchill and my Block G class, Foods. Yar! I love that class; it's so fun! We baked cookies today, and Andrea's and mine were pulchritudinous indeed ^.^ Plus I FINALLY found someone who will teach me Russian! Hurrah and he says my accent is GOOD, Michael, so :P

Hehehe. And Bio was immense fun -- Foods and Bio succeeded in waking me up after math (English wasn't bad, but after the presentation it was kinda ... eh). I got Awards Night invitation too, so I am happy.

Right. I'm also glad our TOK projects are finished, although I'm not overly confident as to their calibre. Oh well. Darn you, Catherine, why did you point *him* out to Sam?? Why? WHY?? Grrargh!

The reason I haven't blogged for a week is that I haven't been online since last Sunday, alright? Now ... M. Barois returned our French tests today. It wasn't half bad ^.^ I tend to do better on those type of things than on written composition. Today's History Seminar wasn't bad either; I enjoyed it! Yar -- seminars are fun!

And it turns out I DID make Honour Roll and Principal's List last year! Wheee! (Actually I knew this before, but a written reconfirmation is always nice.) It seems I also have a "Subject Award" ... if only I knew what that was ... and for which subject ... (Jack has 3!)

Oh yes, and I finally started my formal CAS log yesterday! Yar!

Ohhh ... I never knew life was this complicated ... why, why, why? And why? -.-;; It never used to be this confuzzling. Never. Not confuzzling.

Love is a strong word.

I've said enough. This is something I'd rather ponder in an actual diary, not a blog. Lalalalala ...

Heyo James! You're not tagging any more! How was the essay that was due Thursday?

Procrastination is the thief of time. But at this point, I have not mastered the art of avoiding it. IB will force it out of me, I just know it. Still, I can't think of anything urgent to do -- I'm not behind, and besides, it's Friday! Oh yes, I had forgotten: 110% on English presentation! Hurrah!!

I probably *could* say more here, but I don't know what or how. So I'll very conveniently leave it to Sam.

Granville Island Foods field studies today! Whee ... anything to miss school! I'm kidding. But Cat and I rock! Unfortunately, it means I need to catch up in Bio. Sammo, what did I miss? Dr. Gabbott didn't assign any major projects, did he? And when is our comparison chart due? I've barely started.

Hurrah! Eng presentation over and done with! Now that's one burden gone. She still hasn't given back our quizzes! Aargh!!

Anyhow, yesterday was extremely ... interesting. Besides working on Eng the ENTIRE day ... yar ... interesting.

Another wedding today ... but I'm not going to the reception. Eh. The ceremony started late. That kind of annoyed me because it reminded me of the buses ... oh well.

Darn you, Michael! WHO IS IT???

written at 05:48 p.m.

Whistler was very ... interesting. Hmmm. There were fun parts, as well as not-so-fun parts ... but perhaps I should start at the beginning.

First off, the buses were LATE. As in TWO AND A HALF HOURS late. So we were all at school by 7:15 (I woke up at 6:00) and we didn't get to leave until nearly 10:00! Gaaarrrr ... but then we moved to the Caf and played cards ... which was fun because I kept winning ... not all games but enough to make it fun ...

Frankly, things were rather badly organized. Thw whole retreat was actually spur-of-the-moment due to budget cuts and all that junk ... still, rock-climbing was WIN! (yes yes yes, I know.) Yar! I was climbing all over the place. My forearms were sore afterwards, and my wrists and finger joints felt all weird, but it was worth it.

Group skits in the evening -- now, that was boring because they were simply too LONG. Everyone sat for 3 hours straight, and I stopped paying attention even before the first half had finished presenting. One can only concentrate on something for so long. At least we didn't need to walk back to the hotel! And it was fun after we got back into our rooms. Sammo made popcorn and we gorged ourselves (I'm grossly exaggerating). Then we talked, then Cat retired to read her manga, then the remaining 5 of us -- Sam, Cassidy, Cathy, Elizabeth, and I -- sat around on the sofabed and talked some more ... we attempted Truth or Dare, but it turned out more like just Truth, and even then we weren't very creative. Anyway, we slept at 1:30, which is more than I can say for many others.

Woke next morning to the alarm at 6:35; didn't actually get up until 7:20ish. Hiked the Advanced trail with Mike and Liz (WHY didn't Sam and Cat join us?) ... and when they said "advanced", they really meant "advanced", contrary to what I expected! Wheee! Yeah ... this is getting very long, so I'll stop now, I think.

Wow ... this page looks so empty ... must fill it up ...

Cat and I went to Subway -- OUR Subway -- after Granville Island workshop on Wednesday! Oh, how I miss stealing the occasional white-chocolate-macadamia cookie!

Then we went to Mike's house! And saw his cats! Yay! Sous is the CUTEST. So is Ikus (sorry, Mike, but you never did tell me how those were spelt). AND we heard him SING! Not live, mind you, but still. And it took an awful lot of persuading. Hahaha! That was a very productive day.

Yay for Cat and my new layout! Ooo ... pretty butterflies ...

Ray and Soo's wedding was yesterday! Wheee! Weddings are cool. And Soo was always nice. Eee ... I played keyboard today for church ... not too bad though. And Michelle was leading, so it was easier for me. Wheee! I've nothing else to say.
