I have been a little neglectful of my poor little blog. I've been busy with family visiting and all. Let me recap.

Mom and dad left this morning. Actually they are still here, they don't leave for another 30-minutes. We all woke up at the crack of dawn so we could get them to the Burbank airport and then I could drop T off at work on time. But now i'm home, obviously, chatting online with Amanda and Kai is talking to himself in his stroller. And yes, he's in his stroller next to me. He is happier in his stroller then in his swing and he is banned from his bouncy chair ever since he through the top half of his body out of the chari (no baby was injured!)

Sunday: We went to Sunday brunch at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. It was nice. It wasn't super crowded which was fantastic. Saw some awesome celebrities there for brunch as well. Janet Jackson cooed over Kai calling him a super cute baby. Mark Whalberg rolled up when we did. I guess he had 11.30 reservations as well. In case you are wondering he was driving a navy blue Bentley with ex girlfriend and baby daughter in tow. Owen Wilson was also there. I actually mustered up some witty comment to say to him when I saw him hunched over the kiddie buffet scooping mound after mound of mac and cheese on his plate. He actually commented back followed by his funny Owen Wilson laugh. Sunday was all about the brunch. I was super tired so I slept in and after brunch mom, dad, and baby went shopping and T and I came home and slept.

Saturday: Work as usual, then par-tay at night. We met up with friends at Beauty Bar, where I drank more then I wanted to. Actually we went to White Lotus for sushi then walked down to Beauty Bar. Very trendy restaurant but had to try it out. If you watched the first season of Punk'd they did a lot of their shows there. Okay, anyway, we went to White Lotus then headed to the Beauty Bar. Two doors down was a tatoo shop called True Tattoo which is owned by T's friend Clay. So as Amanda and I went to the bar T stopped in to talk to his friend. Sorry not Web site for the tattoo shop, that's T's job, serioiusly. After Beauty Bar, we tried to get into the Ivar but to no avail. Unless you're famous or a size 0 with huge tits you're not getting in. So we opted for Rage, a gay bar. It was a ton of fun! Even if it is all a blur now. After dancing we went to Canters where I made a huge mistake eating corned beef hash and eggs at 2 in the morning. Yuck!

I need to head over to Target and Costco today. Need to buy Kai an exosaucer and make some returns. I better go, he's fed and completely unhappy about being in his swing.

I'm actually getting a lot of work done today. Can you believe that? I surely can't. Mom and dad have been in Vegas since Thursday afternoon and will be back this evening. Since they're in tonight, we are going out. Just like the good 'ol days. Although this time I'm going to need to be a lot more responsible, this means do not drink so I end up hungover tomorrow.

We're meeting up with all our friends at the Beauty Bar in Hollywood. I think T, Amanda and I will go early to get some grub then walk over to the bar. Hopefully we get there early enough, happy hour is through 11pm, so there isn't to much of a crowd. We want to take advantage of Happy Hour. Ten-dollars for a martini and a manicure. Yummmy!

Tomorrow we have reservations for brunch at the Four Seasons. Don't know if we'll go, depends how my parents are feeling and if they hit it big in Vegas or not. I know my mom wants to go but my dad is appalled at the price. The Four Seasons has the best bacon! Smoked. Apple-y. Thick. Meaty. Yummy!

Okay more later. Gotta finish my QA for the month.

    Wednesday, October 27, 2004 02:03 p.m.

It is pouring! Haleing even. I need to go to the store but I don't want to drive anywhere in this weather. As much as I love LA, Angelenos cannot drive in this weather. Not one bit. It's just rain, get over it.

My mom and dad are here. They have taken a majority of the watching Kai time. It's nice but I'm afraid when they leave Kai may only want to be carried and that's it. I thought I weaned him from that. Oh well, he can enjoy his time with his grandparents.

I just got through watching About A Boy. Cute Movie. Typical Hugh Grant Movie. He's kind of go the Meg Ryan thing going on. You know, the romantic comedy thing. I think I would faint if I saw Mr. Grant in an action role. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the film.

There really hasn't been anything going on. Nothing exciting to write about. Sorry. Hopefully, once my parents leave i'll have more to write about.

    Monday, October 25, 2004 11:30 a.m.

Kai is one cranky baby today. He's got the sniffles and will be going to the doctors this afternoon. I gave him a warm bath today and he loved it, giggling, kicking and yelling. It was awesome to see him so happy.

    Okay, item one:
Poor Ashlee Simpson. She really botched it on Saturday's SNL. And she blamed her band.

    Item two:
Awwww....Lindsay Lohan. I heard filming on the new Herbie the Love bug movie has come to a screeching halt.

I want to go shopping now.

    Sunday, October 24, 2004 08:22 a.m.

Ever feel like you lived two days in one? That's what I felt like yesterday even though I didn't really do anything at all. I woke up at 4.30am got dressed and left for LAX just before five. My aunt and her boyfriend were here just for the night. Today they, literaly, ship out to Mexico for a week. I took the long way home: Lax - 405 - Sunset-through Cahuenga Pass- Barham/Forest Lawn to Glendale. The scenic route. We got here they fell asleep just as the baby woke up. Fun! Anyway, once everyone was awake we went to breakfast at Fred 62 in Los Feliz. After breakfast we went straight to Hollywood and Highland to do some touristy stuff: Grauman's Chinese Theater, Ave of Stars, souvenir shops, yadda, yadda, yadda. By 1pm we were pooped and decided to come home. Around 6pm or so we got dressed, went to Target (my aunt needed film) then strolled through Old Town Pasadena and went to dinner at Noodle World. We did a teensy bit of shopping while in Old Town. We went to ValSurf since my aunt's boyfriend forgot swim shorts for their cruise. While there I bought Kai the cutest pair of Chestnut colored Baby Uggs. They are super adorable. Now I know what my signature baby gift will be for my friends. Wink. Wink. You Know Who.

Today will be very chill. Go out for some brunch, take the family to the port around oneish come home and relax. Pick mom and dad up around 7.45pm dinner and home. Once T and the baby are down I may go out with my mom and dad. T starts his new job tomorrow so I know he'll want to rest up for it.

since my aunt and Patrick are out walking Oscar I'll go ahead and cook some breakfast for everyone. Bye.

It's amazing at how quickly and thoroughly a person can clean their house when company will be over. I have to pick up some relatives at 5am tomorrow morning and I have put off cleaning my house until today. On top of that my cheap-ass close rack decided to totally collapse and break in half two days ago! So not only did I have to clean I also had to swing by the Container Store in Pasadena to pick up a commercial close rack, put it together and put all my clothes/shoes/purses away. The new rack rocks! It's big! It's sturdy! No plastic pieces! Thank you Container Store.

Luckily my huge mountain of laundry was washed, folded and put away the two days I stayed home from work. I would be up all night if I had to do laundry on top of cleaning. We had a ton of stuff to stowe away in the garage. The house is clean. I just wish it was always in this shape. I feel better about myself when I am in a nice, clean, organized space. Now if only the dogs could behave themselves.

Kai is pretty fussy this evening. He is still awake. Poor T is dead tired and he is trying to get Kai to bed. He got the baby while I did a bulk of the cleaning. Tomorrow, i'll be heading to LAX alone. T wants to sleep in and since Kai will sleep in as well, I really am flying solo. I have made a habit of picking up relatives at this crack of dawn flight and doing some Tourist 101 before we even hit my house. The routine is this: LAX straight up to Hollywood and visit Grumans Chinese Theater/Foot-Hand print things and avenue of stars at the ass-crack of dawn. It's an awesome strategy really. Family gets to see this touristy stuff, I get it out of the way immediatly, and it is not crowded and normally we are the only ones there.

    Wednesday, October 20, 2004 07:20 p.m.

Staying home these past two day's with Kai have been wonderful. Even though Kai had a baby cold, which he seems to have mostly recovered, he was bubbly and cute. I knew he wasn't feeling to good when he immediately slept after every meal. I did get to use the asperator for the first time, I thought it was cool Kai did not! Now this is kind of gross, but I want to try it when I'm sick. Yeah, you may balk at that but when polling a few mom's they all confessed to sticking that aspirator up their congested schnozzola.

So Kai has been battling cradle cap for a few weeks. It seems to be subsiding, with some help of light brushing and baby oil. However, the cradle cap flakes has been eccelerating the fall-out of baby hair. Kai now has a weird hair pattern and I don't like it. I hope it doesn't take to long for his hair to grow back in. With my luck, he'll no longer have red hair but brown. Oh well, I'll love still the same.

I went to Costco today, yippee! I stuck to my list except for a pecan coffee cake and a bag of mini-pumpkins for decoration. I'm wishing I bought the bag of mini-gourds as well but something about some of the pimply ridden surface really grossed me out. Actually it reminded me of this semi-mentally challenged guy that used to work the cash register at the McDonalds across the street from my highschool. This guy had a major case of acne. Big, red, bumpy acne. The kind that you feared would ooze. I mean, who in their right mind would put someone with such a skin problem at the cash register. I would cringe when I had to order from him. I guess it's better then having to watch him manning the fry station. Anyway, those gourds gave me flashbacks and I had to politely pass them up.

    Time for dinner.

    Wednesday, October 20, 2004 07:54 a.m.

I have a secret....I've been painstakingly waiting for November 23! Any guesses? Geeezzz....I feel a little geeky about this but I've been going stir crazy.....Harry Potter and the Prisner of Azkaban comes on on DVD. I want to watch it and I want to watch it now! While pregnant I went downtown with my mom and cousin and wanted to buy it on DVD. At that time I hadn't seen the movie and T made me promise not to buy a cheezy bootleg copy before seeing the original. I should have bought it! I didn't have to watch it immediatly, I could have saved it. But now I want to watch it, five minutes ago even. You know what...I'm pre-ordering it. Today. My guess, I'll go to Amazon, place the little slice of heaven into my shopping cart, and suddenly become overwhelmed with guilt. Story. Of. My. Life. Ok, I gotta stop thinking of it, c'mon a girl can only watch the first two movies 25 times!

I watched making the video for Gwen Stefani's new solo song, What You Waiting For. It's a very catchy dance song so unlike no doubt, I kind of like it. The video is beautiful, the colors, the costumes, simply beautiful. I love videos/movies with that bright, washed out surreal look and feel to it. The song reminds me a little of that Madonna song, Hollywood.

Watching the video reminds me how I envied girls with blonde hair. Not because I wanted to be blonde but more that I wanted to wear black headbands. Because my hair is so dark if I wore a black headband it just looked like my hair was slicked down on the front of my head, not so cute! I never did dye my hair blonde. I did add a butter yellow "skunk stripe" to my hair. I liked that a lot but so much up keep. My hair grows quickly so I always had that root problem. Again, not so cute. I think my crazy hair dying days are over, although I should never say never. I do want to dye my hair but a light brown and get a fancy, shmancy haircut. By that I mean, actually, get off my ass and go to a salon and do it myself. I think I have hit hair rut territory. I know a complain about this a lot. But now I gotta walk the walk. I'm goinig to pour over some back issues of In Style and see if I can find the exact haircut I am imagining on my head.

I'm watching Good Day LA this morning. And Jillian looks like she had a boob job. They are literally spilling out of her top. Hmmmm....If you are not from here and ever are, watch the morning news on Fox 11 from 7-9am. I call it the no-news news. It's so funny! The two girls, Dorothy and Jillian totally dominate Steve. The don't take their jobs to seriously and everyday you'd think they were having one big slumber party. Jillian, does the weather and half the time she stands in front of the weather map, with the weather and temps going on behind her, and she's talking about some personal stuff/dancing/singing or all three. It is some funny stuff. I'm hooked and now no longer have the attention span needed for regular news.

    Tuesday, October 19, 2004 06:11 p.m.

I need to make a Costco run….again. I’ve taken to completing a majority of my grocery shopping at Costco, I get more bang for my buck and can normally find everything I need. Since I’ve succumbed to the Costco madness I find myself having to shop a lot less, which is so wonderful. Some of my friends are now teasing me because I’ve embraced Costco with wide, opened arms. So this week I need to buy:
    Two 18-packs of eggs
    Two OJ’s
    Bread
    Jumbo pack of yogurt
    Muffins or croissants
    Spiral Ham.
    Cheese
Mayo (maybe, not to thrilled at a having a jumbo mayo in my house)
    Some sort of snack food
    Merlot
    Fruits
    Beer
    Pumpkins (big and small)
That’s all I can think of right now.

I was able to complete a lot of projects today. Both work stuff and home stuff. It is so satisfying to get work done and not feel overwhelmed or exhausted after doing so. I still have a lot more home projects to complete. I have visitors coming in on Saturday leaving Sunday and then Sunday night for a week. So, needless to say the house needs a major scrub down. I squeezed in the kitchen today, except the floor which I will do on Friday night since the dogs keep tracking dirt in. The bathroom is completed and will just need a quick once over on Friday. The house will need to be vacuumed but everything is in order. Lastly is the den, our new guestroom. I need to wash the sheets and move the bed from under the window to its adjacent wall. I can’t wait to trade the bed in for a sofa bed. It is kind of weird to just have the bed sitting in the room all by itself, nice for naps but weird visually.

I predict that Saturday will be exhausting. My aunt and her boyfriend are coming in. Not really to visit me. They leave on a cruise on Sunday so they just need a place to crash. Since they get in super early on Saturday we will be doing the usual tourist thing: Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood Sign, Star Map tours things like that. I don’t mind doing those things but the day’s are normally very long and exhausting. I don’t think my aunt has ever been to LA. Disneyland yes, Los Angeles no. It seems that most people from Hawaii’s only experience of the “mainland” is Las Vegas and Anaheim, specifically the area surrounding Disneyland. It’s kinda sad but that’s just how it is. I’ve learned to accept it. I don’t like it and I encourage my little relatives to come and visit as often and as long as they like but it seems like they are to scared to leave their comfort zone. Not me, as long as I can remember I told my mom and dad that once I got outta highschool I was blowing the joint and you know what I did! I took a year off after highschool and then split with no looking back. I’m so glad I did. God knows what my life would be like if I didn’t leave. You know what’s really, really sad. When we go back to Hawaii, we’ll swing by this bar we used to chill at and we always run into our friends. Doing the same o same o. I want to cry and then am so grateful I live anywhere but there!

So I was skimming trough some of my Friendster(remember freindster?) contacts and noticed that my favorite Chicago bar has a Web site. Check out Delilahs!

    Tuesday, October 19, 2004 07:46 a.m.

The little menchy has a stuffy nose and it is so sad. I hate hearing those little sniffles and he gets so upset when I try to help him out. I think he realizes it makes him breathe better but in a way I don't blame him. I wouldn't want a rubbery tube thingy shoved up my nose either. So I am home with him today. It's kind of a two part thing why he's not at the sitter. One, he's a teensy bit sick and I want to watch him and two, my sitters daughter just had twins so I assume the sitter is busy. It works out for everyone.

This will be an extremely short work week for me. I have Sat, Tues-Thursday off next week. So hopefully I can return to work tomorrow, wrap up any and all projects and not have to stress about any work stuff while i'm off. We're still planning our big outing on October 30th when my parents will babysit and we can go out. So far we have about 10 people who are going, it's been dubbed THE 30TH, for practical purposes and so we all know what we're talking about. Although, I think I am the ring leader so I better start cracking and planning the night. I also need to buy a cute top that will cover my post-baby pudge happening around my lower belly. I think i'm going too by a bright colored slip/camisole/mini-dress pj thing from Victoria Secrets and wear it as a tank with jeans and these fabulous new wedges I ordered from Bluefly. I just need to go through my rubbermaid bin of purses to dig out either a clutch or wristlet.

So next week we're going to dinner with some family friends. Me, T, Mom & Dad, M, C, J and her boyfriend. The plan is since M & C are members of the Magic Castle we're going there. I'm excited because I've always wanted to go to the Magic Castle and didn't know anyone with membership. My company offers some sort of discount since they have non-member nights a few times a year but never really took advantage of if. Should be a lot of fun and since it's a dress up place, we get to go and eat all decked out! I had to warn mom so she would pack a coat and tie for dad.

Okay the menchy is getting fussy I think he wants to go to sleep.

    Monday, October 18, 2004 10:58 p.m.

The long awaitned and long needed rain has finally hit. When it first started reaining on Friday night I was a little freaked out because I had know idea what the noise happening outside was all about. It really didn't occur to me that it could possible be rain. After focusing on a constant, knocking type noise on my backdoor I decided to check it out. It was rain! Whew....big sigh of relief followed by immediate shock. Rain! Can you believe it? Cause I couldn't. It rained again today. I was down in the South Bay shopping today. Or more like window shopping. I really didn't want to be at home today. Anyway, we walked out of a store and it was pouring! Poor baby got his first dose of rain. I quickly changed him from his outward facing position in the Bjorn and turned him to my chest and covered him with the Bjorn. I scurried to the car and strapped him safely in. There was quite a bit of traffic on the way home. You see, with the rain, people here in SoCal panic and drive completely mental. Drivers seem to lose all common sense and manuvre themselves around like idiots! Anyway we hopped off of the 110 at the Figuera (Downtown LA) exit and took surface streets all the way home. We made some pretty good time on surface streets and decided to make mental note as an alternate route. I got home around 5 and began working at around six and just wrapped everything up.

It's official my Seven jeans is facing old age. I've worn the a lot, i've worn them hard and it's now showing its age. I need to start looking for a replacement. I think i'm going to replace them with a pair of True Religion jeans since I have a couple of other pairs of Sevens.

In case you haven't read about Gavin's turn of events and Gwen's devestation, here it is.

    Sunday, October 17, 2004 04:28 p.m.

I've been a little busy lately. Things at work are hectic again so I'm trying to lay low in my downtime. On Thursday night my company was holde free cocktails and buffet at Wokano in Old Town Pasadena. We took the baby and T and I hit the freebies. K was such an angel and attracted so much attention. I'm so glad that he adapts well in crowded circles. Friday and Saturday was work as usual. I got home from work yesterday and T went straight to bed. It wasn't even 5pm when he went to bed. He didn't wake up until eight thirty this morning. Damn! That was my situation on Friday night. Guess we were a little tired.

Today was mellow. Grabbed some breakfast at Mel's Diner in Sherman Oaks then headed over to the Sherman Oaks Galleria where I looked at boots at DSW.

We received Saved from Netflix and it is awesome! I love movies like this. I don't want to give it away so rent it for yourself. Unfortunately I don't have anything exciting to write about at this moment. So rather then writing about some boring stuff i'll just wrap it up.

    Wednesday, October 13, 2004 06:58 p.m.

I hate this laptop. I had a nice long entry under my belt and with the slight accidental touch of some random button I lost my entry. F*ck!!!!!!

After a long day I have decided to keep the pumpkins. Why? Because its Halloween time, dammit! I'm not HTML savvy so this is as fancy as it gets. I'm convinced a ten year old could do a super fabulous hi-tech version of this site. My lo-tech version will be as good as it gets until I have the time to read up on this HTML/Java/Scripting/Flash-stuff. Is this stuff taught in grade school now days? I remember thinking it was so cool that we had a manual typewriter in our 3rd grade classroom. If you got all your work done early you could have typewriter time. We had a little guidebook that showed you where your fingers were placed and listed all the different typing exercises you could do: asdf jkl; ;lkj fdsa asdr ukl; ;lku rdsa you get the picture. I loved it. I would always hurry and finish my workl, double checking that everything was correct so I could have optimum typewriter time. I know love my typing skills, not like it'll advance my career or anything. But i'm pretty quick and pretty accurate, to bad my grammar isn't up to par.

I have two friends who'll be having babies in the new year. I'm excited to think that i'll have friends with kids Kai's age. I remember growing up and my parent's having a few friends with daughters my age. I would look forward tagging along with mom and dad because I got to play. We would have beach trips, camping trips, trips to the zoo things like that and I always had a playmate. One of my childhood friends, via mom, had a baby in August, not quite two months after Kai. I'm so happy knowing I have peeps with babies. To bad only one, one of the recent mom to be's, lives very near by. I've been friends with this pal since I was in grade school and I only recently found out she was four months pregnant. I haven't seen her in years, oddly enough, in my last year living in Hawaii. I'll be seeing her at the end of the month when mom and dad are here. Her parents will be driving up from San Diego so we can all go to dinner. Fun! I don't know how much sense that made but in my head it sounded okay.

kai is a drool monster. He crams half his fist into his mouth rather then take a pacifier. He'll soak through the entire upper portion of his little kimono shirts. Its really cute but i'm afraid he'll get his fist caught in his mouth. I doubt that would happen but it's just me being a paranoid mom. since having the baby I have subscribed to three parenting magazines. Yeah, these magazines are totally geared to parent's of toddlers. I love reading them but I have to file all the cool fun stuff away until Kai can walk and kinda talk. To bad cause there are some fun, fun things in there.

For the past month or so I've been on a quest for dark blue, low rise, streak free, bootcut jeans. Well I finally found a pair and wore them today. I simply love them! And I found them in the most unexpected place. After desperately checking all my usual haunts like Kitson, Barney's, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and not finding the perfect dark blue jean I went to, get this, Kmart for some homestuff, and decided to check the jeans since I was getting frustrated not finding what I wanted. There they were, folded on the jean shelf. I pulled them out, gave them the once and over and said, what the hell, and tried them on. Low but not to low, dark, not a bit of man-mad-fade, nice bootcut, perfect lenth for my short legs. I looked at the price and nearly fainted. SEVENTEEN DOLLARS! Oh my god! That's like the price of the buttons and rivets on my ususal jeans. I snatched them up, and cheerfully went looking for T. He was shocked as well. I wore them today and they are fantastically comfy. Here they are. After finding the deal of the century I pranced through the shoe section and found an adorable pair of shoes. Butter yellow, ballet flats with a teensy weensy little bow. They look exactly like shoes I see at the regular department store. I bought them and have worn them a lot. I tackled day one of the one time a year Fred Segal sale and my feet survived. what's happening to Kmart? Are they trying to keep up with Targey? They must be. I think there footware is better but Target is still the best! I'll have to take a photo of the flats cause they are a bloody cute pair of shoes. I can already visulize a work outfit. Dark Jeans, yellow flats, white fitted wifebeater, vintage sweater, a couple of necklaces, "diamond" studs, and my LV Papillion. Hair pulled back in a low ponytail, light makeup with glossy lips, minimal hand/arm jewelry and my Chanel sunglasses! Yes! Looks super cute in my head. And nobody will need to know I have Kmart Jeans and shoes on. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the super cute flats come in 6 colors or so, gold, yellow, red, orange, tourquise and I think green. I really wanted silver but no silver, I may need to visit another Kmart to confirm this and make sure I'm not cheating myself out on a pair of shoes.

So, I'm not really digging this orange and pumpkin background. It was my attempt to be festive. It's festive but kind of lame. I want to change it but i'll be inclined to archive prior to months end and I just can't do that. I am compelled to archive and then change the background. Oh the dilemma!

Wow! Can you imagine if this comes to fruitation. It would be one kick-ass-ball-busting-MP3 player!

    Monday, October 11, 2004 08:49 p.m.

Today was a very, very, very long day. It started at the crack of dawn when the mench woke up. I heard his grunts and usual kicking and started my morning routine. By the time I got into his room he was lying in his crib, scooted into the corner as usual, with a big, no I mean HUGE, smile on his face. Have I mentioned just how super duper cute he is? Anyway, I picked him up, grabbed his boppy headed into the living room and fed him. We chilled to gether for a while he on my lap me reading. We watched a bit of news and when T woke up we started our day. We left the house around 9.30am and headed to Pasadena.

T and I both had doctor appointments today. He went to our internists and I went to get an eye exam. The mench came along with me since it probably isn't a good idea to take him to an office filled with sick people. It had been two and a half years since my last eye exam. My vision, hmmm, has improved. Yeah...for clearer vision. I didn't need to get a new pair of glasses but i did get some contacts. Actually they only gave me one pair. I have too go back next week Wednesday for a follow up and then I get my years supply of disposable contacts. I know a year is a lot but I bought the maximum my insurance would allow. The next calendar year, I will change the prescription for my glasses and maybe i'll get new frames. Not sure about that second part since the frames I have now are pretty new and I really like them.

After the doctors appointment we headed to Santa Monica where we had our second round at Fred Segal. I completed about 60 percent of my Christmas shopping. There was a super cute suit jacket I wanted to buy. It fit great but I felt somewhat clownish in it. The blazer was white with navy, tourquise and salmon colored dots meticulously layed out. The price was a steal. Get ready, for this was a fantastic sale price...here it goes....Originally $525 on sale for $50!!!! See what i mean. If its there next week i'll get it. Let's see what did I buy this time.....Okay a peachy, deep-V Juicy Couture tank, a green terry halter, and blue Bella Dahl low rise sweats. T bought a new black hat and a brown long sleeve shirt. And the Mench wound up with two blue (different graphics) Petite Bateau sweaters and an off white Lifesize tee, a cute book called Lemons are not Red and a set of alphabet flash cards.

We took surface streets out of Santa Monica, stopped off at Canters for some yummy food and eclairs for home. We got home about an hour ago and I am beat! I can't quite fall asleep yet. The mench is still awake so T and I can't even think of going to bed. But when he goes down, we'll pop in Bubba Ho Tep and fall asleep to the glow of the boob tube. At least I hope it ends that way.

    Sunday, October 10, 2004 06:47 p.m.
I finally got around to getting my wedding ring cleaned. It is so sparkly and pretty now. I need to get my ring cleaned regularly but it's such a pain to get to that jeweler. While the rings were getting cleaned we roamed the galleria. T picked up a belt and we got a pair of clearance baby pants at Baby Gap. Thank god we got there when the galleria opened, it was pretty empty and bareable.

We grabbed some lunch around 1pm then came home. Our morning of nothing much really tired us out. It's funny how that happens. We got home and the two boys napped while I did some cleaning. When T woke up I decided I wanted to go to Target. That Empire Center was soooooo croweded...I hate that palce on Sundays! Why do I do this to myself. Since Target is next door to Marshalls I popped into Marshalls first. Oh bloody hell! What a disaster! I picked up a pair of throw pillows and bailed. Of course I took my time roaming around Target even though I only had about eight things on my shopping list. Target was okay but I do enjoy it much better on a week day.

Tomorrow T has a doctor appointment and I have an eye exam. I cleverly scheduled them at the same time so neither of us have to wait for the other. I'll take the baby with me since it'll be a little easier to hold him during an eye exam. After the dual doctor appointment we're heading back down to Santa Monica for round two of the Fred Segal sale. I'm so excited!!!!!! I'll be starting my Christmas shopping and finishing next weekend. Whew....a shopping whirlwind.

Kai is starting to talk a lot. It is so adorable. I love hearing him talk to himself. I don't think I have ever heard anything so cute i my life. He is alert and active. My mom told me this would be the age that he would starting getting wild and she was right.

    Friday, October 8, 2004 07:54 a.m.

So T will be joining me at Y! He's so happy his commute will be a tensy, wensy little fraction of what it is now. I'm glad he got in. Now he can have 401K, medical benefits although technically he was on my plan, paid sick time, paid holidays, vacation time and all the other perks we get with working with such a big company. I said big but not "corporate." There's a difference.

The fatigue i've been fighting off has been catching up with me. I felt it yesterday. At 6pm I was so ready for bed. I fought it as much as I could and fell asleep before 9pm. It felt good to sleep. So good I had to wake T to feed the baby in the morning. I really needed that extra hour of bed-time. I really need to catch up on some sleep, I feel my body getting sluggish and tired. I think T and I will need to alternate on naps until we both feel rested.

I think i'm still losing some pregnancy weight. I've been really concious of what I eat and drink. I've really cut back on my sodas. Mainly saving them for weekends and just one at lunch (if that) during the work week. I have ditched the Coke and have moved on to C2 and/or Diet Coke (yuck!). I'm finding that I am able to fit in more and more of my clothes, even those that were a little snug pre-baby. And I have a bunch of clothes that used to fit fine are a little loose on me. Yippee! Go figure, eating right can do wonders on your figure. Who'd a thought? Now to get down to the point that I can finally get my clothes out of my "Amberlina's Skinny Clothes" bin in the garage. The bin is a bit dusty, if you know what i mean. Oh the joy's to fit in those clothes. It all my awesome vintage stuff i've accumulated over the years. I have some great vintage stuff I bought in Italy and am dying to wear it!! Can't talk about it, i'll get misty eyed just thinking about the fabulous garb.

It's another chilli California morning. The usual chilli weather attire was worn to work: Black Seven Jeans, White ballet tee, black Vintage beaded Sweater, dark purple knit scarf and flip-flops. Gotta love it! I laugh about his all the time. I find the irony of it hysterical, scarf, sweaters/jackets and flip-flops. I've ranted on about loving my cold weather clothes so i'll refrain from doing it again and boring you all to pieces.

The junk food is so abundant in the office. We have bowls of candy at the reception, around desks, cake is always being brought in. Aaahhhh.....Why can't we be offered fruit. Or a healthier alternative. And why can't there be sugar free candy? I better stuff that suggestion box in the break room.

    Back to work!

    Wednesday, October 6, 2004 06:57 a.m.

Have I mentioned how I love, love, love Netflix! Since I'm not much of a moview goer Netflix is heaven. My queue is fully-loaded, and I have movies-in-waiting, like ladies-in-waiting, in my Saved queue. I've taken to adding movies, recent movies, to my Saved queue as soon as it is released in theaters. That way I don't have to worry about adding them later and possible forgetting about them (that happens more frequently then I'd like to admit.) I just logged into my Netflix account and am so elated that I will be receiving Saved. Mandy Moore, Macauly Culkin; what more could you ask for. I can't wait, I heard it was super fantastic.

I worked at home for three hours last night. How depressing! I work for eight hours in the office. Then typically work at home for 3-4 hours more each night. Okay, maybe not every night but every other night. I don't why my workload suddenly picked up. Prior to maternity leave I was NOT this busy. I love the overtime, surprisingly i'm not stressed about all the work but I would like one week without any "homework."

T interviewed with for a job with my company yesterday. I really hope he gets it. The 80-mile daily commute is taking its tool. T doesn't know what he will do with all his time, should he get it. Luckily we won't be working with or near each other. Same location different buildings. There are both pros and cons with this new positions but the pros definetly outweigh the cons. He should be hearing back from the recruiter today and tomorrow, so please keep your fingers crossed!

I've been having shopping dreams again. Damn Fred Segal! I thought I had curbed my shopping habit but I didn't. All I did was avoid the stores I love. Shopping in stores that are egh, can really prevent you from buying stuff. We're going shopping again this weekend. Hopefully I can get all my Christmas shopping completed. I should get started on my Christmas list today. I need some sizes for some of my little cousins so I need to shoot my mom and email for the info. The only prezzie I think I'll have issues with is my 17 year old boy cousin. What do 17-year old boys like, want, need. I know he's into surfing but what to buy? I'll probably settle on a tee shirt of shirt of some sort. Its an easy gift.

Gotta get to work. I've been here for an hour so I should get started (on my christmas list...ha,ha,ha).

    Monday, October 4, 2004 10:56 p.m.

Im a confessed TV junkie. I say this because I am easily addicted to shows. My life used to revolve around these shows but over the last six months or so I'm beginning to let go. Not to care. Realizing there are other things out there, to do, to see, to read, to watch. Life isn't TV. TV junkette. My new thing, besides Desparate Housewives is Laguna Beach on MTV. It's on tomorrow night and I'm excited. My TV addiction is based around semi-bad to bad TV. Oh well, I guess a girls gotta have some fun.

The mench is beginning to get really talkative. He'll sit and "talk" for 30-minutes straight. It is really the most adorable thing I have experienced. He makes me laugh. His face is filled with happiness and such extreme expressions. He is trying to make different types of sounds, you can see it. He forms his mouth in different shapes. I think his voice even excites him. It is cute, cute, cute! I could stare at hime all day long. I kiss him all the time. I love it and I would like to think he loves it. His other knew thing is sucking on my arm. When I carry him he nestles his head against my arm, dumps the pacifier opens his mouth and places it down on my arm. I'm covered in baby spit. Warm, stringy baby spit. LOVE....IT....

I wanted to include a beefy entry but i'm tired. I'm going to bed since I need to be awake in 5 hours.

    Monday, October 4, 2004 09:13 a.m.

I was excited for the premier of Desparate Housewives. I liked it. I'll be watching it on Sunday nights, even though it runs against Law & Order Criminal Intent. I love L&W but I watch the other two L&W shows and three CSI, so T and I came to a consensus and decided to forgo one L&W for Desparate Houswives. When I first heard about this show I was a little skeptical. The name was a little...I don't know...cheesy. But I liked the show. It's quirky and funny which means it will be cancelled like every other good shoe, i.e. My So Called Life, Twin Peaks and Popular. Although they can all be found on DVD and can live on that way it just isn't the same. They were to clever for the public.

This is pretty funny. While looking for the Desparate Housewives link I came across this advertisement. Who needs All My Children perfume? Really, why do we need this? However, i'm sure there are some soap fanatics who would by this. Speaking of soaps...the soap network has been playing Melrose Place. On Saturday there was a marathon starting with the Pilot. Fun, fun, fun!

    Sunday, October 3, 2004 05:15 p.m.

This weekend has been so full and fun. Since I had Saturday off we lounged around the house until mid-afternoon. I made us a huge, greasy breakfast. We watched some tv and around noon got dressed for the wedding. Our friends T and Kate got married on the beach at Sycamore Cove in Malibu. Since this was a casual wedding, and was told that jeans and flip fl0ps were okay, getting dressed was a cinch. T wore his AG jeans, yellow button shirt and brown tie, and a blue/yellow/white Fred Perry track jacket. Nice and casual. I wore my Seven Jeans, black camisole, black cordury cropped blazer and leather flip flops. I took a scarf with me, just in case it got chili (it totally came in handy). You know you live in California when you're on the beach in jeans, flip flops, tank and a scarf. We took the baby with us and he was an angel! He didn't cry, he was super happy and it was great that everyone wanted to carry him. Although Val held him the most. It was funny, when ever she carried him he would fall asleep. Anyway, we anticipated that the long drive was going to be amplified by the usual valley traffic. Well there was no traffic and the Las Virgenes pass was really quick. Once cutting through the canyon we ended up at PCH and Pepperdine University. After driving for a while I was confused, I honestly thought we had gone to far or turned the wrong way. I called Val. I was told that Sycamore Cove was waaaayyy up PCH. We passed Zuma, Point Dume, I couldn't belive we were still a bit away from the cove. Val said, if you reach Oxnard you've gone to far. We finally found it and got there an hour early. That was good, we had time to feed the baby before the ceremony. As friend arrived they all said the same thing. They were drivng and driving wondering where this place was. Thank god, we weren't the only ones. The wedding was beautiful, the setting was beautiful, the bride and groom looked fabulous! I had a great time!

Today we woke up bright and early, fed the baby, got dressed and headed to Santa Monica. We ate at Norms then headed down the street to Fifth and Broadway. We got prime parking at Fred Segal. Since we were there an hour early we bought two americanos, made some phone calls and made small talk with other shoppers. We were all there for the once a year Fred Segal sale. We shopped for over 3-hours. Fred Segal is the greatest! We went to Lifesize first to buy Kai his goods. He lucked out with a cool pair of striped pants, white Fred Segal baby classified tee, James Perse (Baby James) polo, and a cute green and gray striped shirt. I bought a pair of kelly green Juicy Couture terry cloth hipster capris, T bought some jeans and a nice hat. We're going back next week. By the end of the sale I want to buy myself a pair of jeans, some cashmere Juicy Couture sweats and track jaket, a cute chloe metallic purse, T wants another pair of jeans, a Fred Perry Scarf, some shirts, Penguin jacket, a messenger bag, some home stuff, and he wants to get Kai an 18-month Burberry sport coat (its so funny and snooty) and more 12-18 month old clothes for the baby. Oh yeah, and how could I forget shoes! I love this sale!!! While shopping today we say Bob Saget being led around the store by his little daughter. Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue was there, looking like a rockstar, with his Playboy Playmate wife Donna D'Errico (don't know if that's how you spell her name). Mrs. Nikki Sixx had no make-up on and looked hot, hot, hot! Now it's time to chill at home. And while the baby sleeps, I want to do some laundry.
